My first revisit since Feb. 2016 and the only words that describe my experience are ordinary and not very flavorful. The dining experience that my four dining partners and myself had were loaded with culinary missteps. Appetizers of calamari and buffalo chicken wings could only be described as ordinary. The calamari had no real discernible flavor, but the marinara sauce that accompanied them was exception. The wings were fried, not as normal buffalo wings are prepared, blue cheese dressing was not served with the wings and had to to be requested. Our server, Heather was the only shining star of of our dining experience. The general consensus on soups served with the entrees were good. The chef either had a very bad night, or was absent this evening. I have ordered the 12 oz. cut of prime rib on four other occasions and it had been very good, but ordered medium well it came out grey and tasteless. Sent back, another came out not as grey but still lacking flavor, I was disappointed. The meat was a thinner cut on my previous visits but I think the quality of the meat was far superior. Two pasta dishes came out cold and had to be returned. One entrée, veal parmesan, was to spicy for one of my dining partners, and was returned for a different, milder sauce. The veal parm came out more to my dining partner’s taste but midway through it was discovered that it was chicken!!! Again, our server was the star of our time spent at Jo Jo’s, she could not have been more accommodating and professional. Heather did what she could to make the best out of a bad experience. Unfortunately for JoJo’s due to the multiple flaws that we encountered, for me it is the swan song for this restaurant, and I will not be returning.

Ate here on a Friday night from a suggestion from the people working the front desk at our hotel. Food was great and the serving size were plentiful. I had the pizza with eggplant and mushrooms. My wife and daughter had spaghetti dishes. We ended up taking there left overs back to the hotel. Prices a bit high for family dining, but if you were taking that someone special out to dinner this place should be in your list when trying to decide on where to go. I definitely would go back to this place.

The food was amazing, homemade bread, dressings and desserts. The food portions were large and very very tasty. Service was excellent from hostess with mostest, to server extraordinaire and assists that had smiles that wouldn’t stop!

Loved it! Great food, great staff, relaxing atmosphere and décor. If I didn’t live 3000 miles away, I’d be a regular there. We got a specialty pizza and great salads that were definitely more than expected. Mmmmmmm

Favorite spot to go to after windsurfing at Lakes Bay. Food is always great along with the service. There are a few Jo Jo’s in the general area so make sure you go to the right one.

I had the opportunity to eat at Jo Jos this past evening. It was a disappointment. My last visit there was quite pleasant. The Pomodoro Chicken salad dish was fabulous and last night’s was no exception either but it really seems they reduced the portion size considerably. For 20 bucks excluding a tip, the salad was way overpriced and skimpy. I went out of my way from the Shore to visit this venerable establishment. I am bummed. Their homemade Balsamic Salad and fresh ingredients are worthy to rave about, but at these prices and so skimpy I ll likely go to the grocery store and get my own salad fixings.

I dined at JoJo’s and the food was good but the server Louise was just awful. This was a true lesson in patients and a service 101 course in what not to do when you’re a waitress. First she took a good fifteen minutes to greet when we were shown to the table. Then when we stated we were ready to order when she finally came over, she. Told us the couple she was talking to for 15 minutes did not order and they came in first. Soooooooo. We waited another 10 minutes to place our order and another 20 Minutes for her to get it from the kitchen and deliver it to our table. This would be bad enough if it was just our table… But NOOOOOO. The party at the table next to is being served by LOUISE was having the same problem with her service. She even forgot the pizza the gentleman was waiting a very long time for. We were all done with Louise and had to get out of there because of her lousy service. Great food … Bad service.

Going to eat here again, best pizza and subs in south Jersey. The traffic can sometimes be crazy and the parking lot is not all that big, but if you call in the do deliver

Jo Jo’s Italian Grille was fantastic for us. We got a large Sicilian Pepperoni and Sausage pizza, with calamari, garlic knots, and mozzarella sticks. The food was fantastic but what gets this restaurant a five star rating was the impeccable service. Our waiter’s name was Frank, and he was very personable and professional. When we told him we were from out of town, he mentioned some really good specials. He took really good care of us. So if you ever decide to dine here, ask for Frank.

Wow, this was so bad, so inedible that the only thing which would make this experience worse is a Manager who insults his own staff and offends the customer. Keep reading! the Manager DIDINSULT us and his staff. The Clam Chowder tasted like an over sweetened glutinous cup of swill. The appetizer of Clams Casino has an off taste. Almost sour. We left 3 of the 5 clams. Waitress didn’t care one iota if we ate the dish or not. Obviously clueless or a lack of proper training. If you see the dish not eaten, would it seem reasonable to ask your customer if something was amiss? Lips had the daily special of Flounder with Crab Meat. The actual piece of fish was cooked well, the rice had that same off taste to it as the Clams Casino.. Lips left all of the rice on the place, still molded from the bowl the kitchen losers used to plate it. The bitter greens served with the Fish was also not eaten. Again, waitress couldn’t give a rat’s arse if we enjoyed it or not. She never came by the table. I had the Panzarotti. Absolutely, a disgusting rendition. I can venture a guess the oil in which it was fried in was either not hot enough or rancid. The product sucked. The waitress again was MIA. I left 75% of it. I couldn’t eat it. Waitress finally came by, we just want the check and to leave. This imbecile leaves the check and disappears again. We wait and wait. Finally the hostess comes by and she takes the check. Waitress never shows up again. We go up to register and the second major moron of the night asks«how was everything». We say Mediocre. He turns around and says,” fantastic, glad you liked it.” He was another one who couldn’t care less. A real piece of shlt. When someone asks a question, do you think its too difficult to at least pretend like you care? We get back to hotel and we call to speak to a manager to offer our insight which we had tonight. Maybe the manager didn’t know how lousy the food is? The following is the verbatim exchange once we called: Ring Ring Can I help you Yes, we would like to speak to the Manager, please Umm, I’ll see if he is here. Now it gets even more weird. I explain our experience to the«Manager», he says well I got a lot of positive feed back regarding this entrée Ok, but we didnt like the food and we thought maybe your oil was rancid, the rice was off tasting along with the clams, The whole dinner was quite upsetting to our taste buds. We tell him about our disappearing server He says, can you describe her yes, we tell him she was wearing Yellow Framed Glasses He says, «did she HAVE A BIGBUTOR little?» We say, «huh what did you say» He comes back, «ya know, did she have a big or little ass» Excuse me? WTF! «we were there for dinner and not looking at her butt, sneakers or the or anything else you stupid dog» We found his responses to be sexist, rude and so totally inappropriate. A real scum-bag. We doubt he was even the manager. This food sux, the wait staff sux, the management sux. I wonder if the owner even knows how poorly run this place is? Fatty say SWINGAND A MISS! Meatballs are really good. Unassuming restaurant with excellent food. Chicken parm excellent as well as chicken escarole soup. Ask for meatball appetizer with ricotta cheese. Prices are reasonable and portions are large.

Okay so this place was decent, I wouldn’t say it’s as good as everyone said. If you’re in the area and want Italian food it’s a good choice but I felt ventura’s was better. Coming from New York I’m biased on Italian food reviews so I’m going to leave it at that.

Went here tonight for dinner for Mother’s Day. It was shockingly empty, but after the service we had, I’m not surprised. We were a party of 7 with a 3 month old baby, who was apparently counted in our bill because they added the 20% tip onto our bill because we were a party of 8. The waitress was argumentative when we questioned the use of red sauce on the pasta rather than the francaise sauce as we had ordered chicken francaise. We had to ask for drinks repeatedly.

Really great Italian food! Every time I have eaten here it is delicious. They have early bird specials from 4−6pm and you get mussels marinara and soup/salad with the dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant!

My family and I stop here for dinner nearly every time we return to Philadelphia from a day at the shore. We have NEVER had a bad experience here. This restaurant just does everything right: 1) The food is delicious, inexpensive, and most importantly, CONSISTENT. If you try an entrée and say to yourself, «wow, this was really great. I must have this again the next time!» you can be assured that it will be prepared exactly the same way. That’s not true with many places. 2) The place is very clean. You know how, at some places, you occasionally encounter a dirty utensil or a table that was gone over«a bit too quickly?» Never at this place. 3) The staff is very friendly and attentive. They consistently strive to make you feel welcome and to give you the best dining experience possible. Ever had that server with a bit of an attitude that just sours the entire meal? Never here. 4) The ambiance of the restaurant is just… nice. They play Italian music at the perfect level to create the mood but not interfere with conversation. On those colder nights they light the fireplace and it, along with the food and drink, warms the soul. 5) The kitchen prepares the food quickly, but at the same time, does not rush things. They serve the food at the perfect pace. 6) The deserts are to die for. Enough said. 7) Lastly, the prices are very reasonable and the food portions are huge. We usually take half our meal home to have for dinner the next day. I dare you to finish their lasagna in one sitting. I’ve never accomplished it, but oh, I’ve tried. It’s just that delicious!

I must be a fan if I went back for lunch after a dinner in the lapse of 14 hours. They combined seafood pleasantly into their dishes-no fishy taste. Their tomato sauce was sometimes creamy, and sometimes not depending on the dish. Service was great and well paced. The portions weren’t overwhelming. It’s a nice cozy scene, decent prices, especially since it’s only a 15 minute drive to AC.

OK First of all this ISNOT a pizza joint. This is one of the finest mid-priced casual restaurants I have ever been to. The food here is fantastic. I have been here too many times to remember. Yes they have pizza. Some of the best wood fired thin crust you will ever have. I’ve been to Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn, which was very good, but Jo Jo’s is as as good and even better when you order a specialty pizza without the tourist atmosphere. The diners are fantastic and that just does not come from me. I get raves when I recommend to friends. Just today a friend said he had the Salmon with Crab and he thanked me for recommending. Any special that Joe has on the menu will be fantastic. Anything with a red sauce or with his brown gravy(actually demi glacé) is wonderful. I always walk away asking how they can make it better every time I’m there. This is not a place to order the standard. Try something different and you will not be disappointed. The lamb chop appetizer is constantly excellent. For that matter any specialty appetizer has consistently been exceptional. Polenta, garlic mashed, lamb chops, any antipasto, clam chowder, specialty thin crust pizza, any seafood dish(especially salmon), calamari Siciliano, any chicken beef or veal dish. And if they happen to have vegetarian meatballs, not normally on the menu.

I have been going to Jo Jo’s since I was a little boy and before they renovated. My dad would take me and I’d usually order a cheesesteak or Italian sub. Since I’ve grown up I’ve eaten at Jo Jo’s many times. Unfortunately, it’s one of the few good Italian joints around here. They have a real brick oven here and the gourmet pizzas are awesome. Stromboli is also a hot ticket item here… I would suggest going with the cheesesteak stromboli since that’s my favorite, but any filling would be great. They always have specials for lunch and dinner and I almost always find something that I like on the specials menu. The owner is really nice and staff is professional. Bathrooms are clean and the mood is intimate. On Fridays(and I think Saturday) nights they have live music. Really, you won’t be disappointed going here. They also have a location in Egg Harbor Township across from Berkshire grill. It’s smaller, but the menu is pretty similar.
