I haven’t had better Chile Rellenos anywhere! I agree with the previous reviewer, this place is a hidden gem. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! The atmosphere is comfortable. The service was very nice. We are looking foreward to going back!

This was just not good. I just spent $ 45. The kids meals are $ 7 a piece and it’s just a tiny burrito cut in half. No rice, beans or drink. We were the only ones in the restaurant & the waiter never checked on us once so we sat with empty drinks most of the time. They only have green salsa and it’s the thick stuff right out of the jar. Not even the tortilla chips were very good. My chicken taco was literally just shredded chicken with no seasoning whatsoever.

Used to be good, now the dining room is dirty, portions have become small. They have lost their flair. Not many choices up that way.

This place is a hidden gem in a tiny small town shopping strip. It’s the best Mexican place in the 10 mile radius. It is spacious with some cool live music by a guy playing the guitar. The food is good, I’ve especially enjoyed the chorizo quesadillas and chicken gorditas. The restaurant is also byob with complimentary margarita mix! I’ve seen pretty nice crowds of people on the weekends and there were people coming in for takeout left and right.

Average strip mall Mexican. Chips and salsa verde 3 stars. Guacamole 3.5 stars. Margarita mix 1 star — being generous. Chicken enchiladas 2.5 stars. Tex Mex salad 2 stars. Waitress attitude 3.5 stars.

Delicious Mexican food and very friendly staff. I’m originally from Southern California and am pretty picky about Mexican food. For the last 20 years I lived in NYC and in northern Brooklyn, where there are dozens of Mexican takeout places, none were as good as El Mariachi. We just moved to the Plumsteadville area and were thrilled to find this place! Taking off one star only for the restaurant décor and ambience which could use a little update, otherwise really impressed with the food quality, speed, friendliness and prices. Excellent!

Always a great meal. Fair prices and nice atmosphere the chef’s really good my family’s vegetarian and they go out of their way to accommodate them. Making changes on dishes and still keeping the taste. I also like the chips and salsa that they even offer me when I wait for take out. What a pleasant surprise that they treat take out people like customers. Thanks

I’ve wanted to go to Mariachi’s for quite a while and was excited to finally be able to go. The restaurant claims it serves authentic Mexican food, which I love. I’ve had the good fortune to visit Mexico many times and I was hoping to get that experience closer to home. Unfortunately I was less than impressed. The interior décor is dated and cosmetically in need of an update, but I’ve been to enough hole in the walls to know the food is what makes the place. The menu is expansive, which is a plus. The problem is that the food I had wasn’t good. We were greeted immediately upon entering and sat down quickly. A waitress took our drink orders right away and brought chips with salsa verde. The chips were ok but the salsa verde was tasteless with the consistency of water. I ordered a side of guacamole to go with the chips. The guacamole was fresh and had a nice taste. We ordered combo fajitas, chicken chimichangas, and a side of refried beans. Our food was served within a decent amount of time, but we were not given silverware or napkins and there was no plate for the fajitas — we had to ask for all of it. The fajitas were bland, with no seasoning whatsoever. The steak was crunchy and the peppers were mushy with an acidic aftertaste. The chimichanga was ordered with mole sauce. The mole sauce tasted like thick old coffee and completely covered and saturated the chimichanga. The menus said it would be topped with onions and sour cream. There were no onions and I had to ask for sour cream. The chimichanga itself was bland, lacking in seasoning and flavor. I love authentic refried beans, which is why I ordered them as a side. They tasted as if they came from a can, the consistency was off and like everything else the beans lacked in seasoning and flavor. I am really disappointed. I was really hoping that this could be my new local go-to for a yummy authentic Mexican meal. Unfortunately I’ll need to keep looking.

I should have planned ahead and picked up some beers before getting here as they do not serve any alcoholic beverages. Not that I need a Dos Equis every time I bite into a burrito but the wait for the food was a little longer than expected. Nothing fancy about the interior but very clean and the staff were super friendly. Prices were a little higher than I expected but easy to get to when you know where it is and they allow you to byob.

I use to go to El Mariachi about every month or so when ever I was in the area and in the mood for some decent Mexican food. I began to notice a lack of quality in the last couple of visits, but, this last one really sealed it for me. Here’s the list and the food is at the bottom of it. Flies everywhere. Floors were tacky almost greasy. Bathrooms were dirty The tables were barely clean. Salt pepper shakers and hot sauce bottles were sticky. Food was very bland But, here’s the real kicker… Our server was walking past our table with a dish of chips. We asked her if she could bring us some as well. Bless her heart, she just reached in with her bare hand and shoveled some into our dish. If this is the kind of training our waitress had, who knows what they are doing in the kitchen. Sorry, but, that’s it for me.

This is your Hispanic food restaurant of the area. Good place to eat if you are interested in good food and amazing salsa. They will always give you more salsa if you ask for it. They work with a promotional group called«belly», which prompted me to give someone there a high five. Apparently enough high fives will earn me a free appetizer or something similar. Great for takeout. Great for kids. Byob but the price is right the kind of food you are served. The esthetic is cool considering its location in a strip mall between a post office and a hair dresser. The wall mural is pretty cool as well. Great thing for playing I-spy with your young ones. If you hungry and in the area. Please go here!

My husband and I just love it here. Great service, wonderful food, low prices, byob. The staff is always friendly and pleasant, a plus especially on those days that were a wee bit too much stress. The food is authentic and delicious. If you haven’t tried it yet; do!

They always have excellent food! The black bean soup and fajitas are exceptional. It’s always a treat getting authentic Mexican food from this restaurant.

Have been here several times. My personal favorites were the chicken tortilla soup and the enchiladas verde. My last two visits have been a complete disappointment. It seems as though recipes have changed and waitstaff reprogrammed. I don’t think I will be back!

Hmmm. Don’t know what to say about this place. They don’t have Horchata which is a big let down for being an «authentic» Mexican restaurant. I had the tacos which were good, but nothing to write about! Would I get them again, probably not. I’m not even sure if I would go back as there are a lot better options within 20min from Doylestown. The chips could have been warmed up and the default salsa could have had some heat. They have hot salsa upon request. This place seems like they want to be «authentic» but have to cater to the white rednecks in the area which takes away from their potential.

Authentic Mexican food for a reasonable price. Love the service and the Mole Chimichanga! I’m not brave enough to try the Cactus and Beef Tongue though. Bring your own tequila, they provide the mix.

I’ve given El Mariachi a couple chances so far… here are my conclusions: –I wouldn’t call it 100% authentic mexican but it’s not tex-mex either. It’s somewhere in between. –The salsa is just okay –The menu is expansive which is a plus –The service is generally good –It’s a big place it’s usually not hard to get a seat –The food is okay… about average but nothing truly impressive –Prices are reasonable It’s not a place I think of right away when I want Mexican food but it’s a decent option for the area.

What is with the service?! It’s either they’re really slow and lazy OR they were extremely understaffed that night. Waiting waiting waiting… dirty tables waiting to be cleared… patrons waiting to be served… us waiting to be acknowledged and seated. Waiting to get our menus. Waiting for silverware. Waiting to get our waters. Waiting for our orders to be taken. Waiting an hour for our appetizer. Waiting for our entrees(which was luckily tasty although my bistec was a bit dry and overcooked, the guacamole was very good tho). Waiting for hot sauce(did not have tapatio or cholula). Waiting waiting waiting… I think the only thing they were quick on was the check! Hmph. I’d give them another try just to see if it was one of their crazy«off» nights — luckily we were not in a rush to go anywhere because a 3-hr dinner is awfully long!
