Plymouth Country Club

I attended a dinner with one of my cousins who belongs to the club and I ordered a singature salad, which was excellent! It had the manderin oranges in it and crushed walnuts topped off with a poppyseed style dressing. For my entrée, I ordered the filet mignon, which I ordered to be medium cooked. It came out a little on the pink side, but was good quality meat and I still enjoyed it. The place could use a little remodeling on the inside, but the staff was extremely friendly and the chef even came to our table to check on us during dinner! I always love good service.

This place wasn’t horrible, but it didn’t really do anything for me.
I went there for a dinner because one of my friends had just joined the club and needed to spend the monthly minimum. For some reason, I was expecting something a little better, and maybe that’s what caused my opinion of the place to be lower.
The salads were «bleh» (house salad consists of iceberg lettuce, black olives, cucumbers with choice of dressing) Honestly, I could have made a better salad with my eyes closed. Maybe that’s a little harsh, but they could definitely do a lot better for being a country club.
The entrees were pretty good though, but nothing that I would drool over or crave later. Majority of my friends had a pasta dish with one friend having a burger. I tried pretty much 4 dishes and all were good but nothing was wow-​worthy in my opinion.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad place, but don’t expect gourmet food.
Expect an average country club meal.

I went to a wedding there last night. Normally, I think wedding/​catered food stinks. I never look forward to it. This place made the best fillet I have ever had in my life! It was so tender it could be cut with a butter knife! The flavor was out of this world and there was a little blue cheese melted on top. Not over-​powering, just enough to give the taste a boost! It came with String Beans Almondine, which was good and a twice baked potato which was okay. It wasn’t as dry as they usually are, but still nothing to Unilocal about!
Before the amazing fillet came, there was soup then salad. The soup was awesome. I think it was Italian Wedding (although usually Italian wedding soup had pasta, this didn’t). The meatballs in there were awesome! So flavorful. The salad had bacon, walnuts, blue cheese, just about everything! Very good! The dressing was different and I’m not sure what it was (maybe creamy poppyseed?) but it was very good!
I don’t know if you have to be a member to eat there, but I will certainly go back for that fillet!!!
