I have truly enjoyed all the varieties of wine I have tried, from Amador Foothill. This is a great place to stop and visit, while in the gold country. Beautiful views to enjoy, while sampling some of the usual and unusual wines.

Great views from this winery. The woman pouring was very friendly and knowledgeable, and suggested food pairings that would go nicely with each wine. They had a couple wines I had never heard of before(such as the Aglianico) that were quite nice.

As we try to get around to all the wineries, we decided to hit this one up. Simple tasting room and wonderful staff, you can tell how passionate they are about wine. My wife really enjoyed their wine and it was good but not great. I would recommend you give it a try and find out for yourself. We purchased Katie’s Cote and a Rosato. I just love Amador County!

Great people serving wine for over 30 years. They have estate Aglianico, a very rare grape in the USA. This stuff is complex and built to age for a decade or more… If you don’t have the patience, decant for a few hours. They have a nice bottling facility onsite too for Enginerds like me.

Ben and Katie focus on making their wines food friendly, drinkable and reasonably priced. They have a beautiful view of the Sierra’s and the Shenandoah Valley. The Sauvignon Blanc, Aglianico, Katies Cote’ and Esola Zinfandell are my faves. Stop by their tasting room sometime for a taste of classic Amador County wines: D
