Staff is always friendly and accommodating! Parking can be a nightmare but it’s worth the trip.

I used to go to Pet Smart for my dog food as that’s what most dog/​cat owners do. When I went there, they told me to buy Blue Buffalo but didn’t give much reason as to why; I was naïve and decided to stick with that choice and was overpaying for it. A small bag of the grain free small dog formula was about $ 40 for an 11 lb bag. After a couple of years of overpaying, I decided to look into pet food specialty stores and came across Chuck and Dons. Bonus was that it was in walking distance of my house. I went in with my dogs and was discussing the types of food with one of the staff members. They introduced me to NutriSource which essentially has the exact ingredients as Blue Buffalo without the high price tag (and it rates equally on dogfoodadvisor) and walked me through the transitioning steps. A 30 lb bag of NutriSource was approximately $ 50, which was much more affordable than the Blue Buffalo and my dogs have both transitioned to it greatly. They have a wide selection of various dog and cat foods, treats, and toys. I go there almost on a monthly basis with my two dogs and usually buy them a new toy whenever I go. They have a great selection of ball toys that can withstand a lot of chewing, which is great for my two chewers. Like the other posters have notated, there is a membership program that can help offset some of the higher costs. For example, if I buy a certain amount of large dog food bags, then I can get the next free; I think it’s buy 9, get the 10^th free.

Wow, prices are 20% higher than the big box stores for the exact same food. I like supporting local businesses, but not for that much more.
I won’t be shopping here again.

Simply put, this place is the Whole Foods of pet food stores. I mean that in all the best ways imaginable. They have an exceedingly premium selection of hard-​to-​find, ingredient-​specific diet type foods available. If the food quality and selection was not enough, the staff is superb and very helpful. They also have a unique selection of toys that you won’t find at the national chains.
Their prices are a little higher, but it is absolutely worth it in service and quality. They do have a membership rewards program to help offset the prices a little over time.

Very friendly and helpful staff, very cute kitty up for adoption up front. Didnt recognize any of the brands of food and it all seemed a little too much for pet food as far as ingredients and such. Very affordable bird food for outdoors, staff very quick to ask if you need help with anything.
