For my birthday, 3 friends and I went to Amador county for a wine trip. We got a car service to take us around and the first stop we went to was Convergence Vineyards. We pulled up to the tasting room and the owner came out to talk to our driver. He said we couldn’t be there and demanded we leave. The owner reached into the window of our vehicle and attempted to grab our driver. We tried to leave by backing up and making a three point turn but the owner stood behind our vehicle and blocked us. The owner’s wife ran out and started yelling at us; chasing us down the road as we left. It was a horrifying first stop on our wine trip. I didn’t understand what we did wrong or why the owner was so upset with us that he would result to violence. Their sign said they were open and they had nothing on their website saying we weren’t allowed. I write this as a warning to others: do not go to this winery, these people are crazy!

Wow! You’ve got to try this place. Not next door to other wineries, but well worth the stop. Loved every wine. Very unique wine club with ascending discounts. Very casual and welcoming. Delicious, fun, & pleasurable. Will be back!

I can’t say enough good things about Convergence Vineyards! We passed it on our way in and made a note to be sure to try it sometime over the weekend. The tasting room is located in a lovely bucolic setting. I fell in love with the countryside but didn’t have a clue that I’d do the same with the wines. We were lucky to have arrived when the tasting room was quiet on a holiday(Valentines) weekend; we had the warm and personable vintners all to ourselves. Steve and Jamie were excellent hosts and their beautiful Goldens were as friendly as their owners! We tasted their wines as they told us much about their history and the wine making process. It is rare that I enjoy all the wines when tasting, and even more rare that I buy more than a bottle or two, BUT we invested in half a case and wished for more. We went on to try a few of the other wineries in the area but Mr. S and I kept talking about how much we enjoyed our previous tasting experience. Finally we just shook our heads, turned the car around and headed back to Convergence. Jamie and Steve were busy with a crowd of tasters but smiled warmly as we returned, knowing we were back to do more than taste. Jamie making time for us, took us aside and we did a bit more tasting as we signed up to become«Groupies» and loaded a full case into the car next to our half a case. My Valentine knows what I like and he did a fine job of providing me with enough wine to keep me happy until our next shipment comes in! I look forward to enjoying these wines, along with the spices and recipes that are included with the club membership, for many years to come.

We arrived here on Saturday, 12÷19÷15. Steve and his lovely wife were very welcoming. Steve is very knowledgeable about his wines and surrounding vineyards. We have become members because the wine is DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELICOUS! I must say, Maverick and River, their Gold Retrievers won my heart over. Especially when they fetched the cork when the champagne was popped open– wish I could post the video of it. Here I thought I got excited when a bottle of bubbly was popped, lol. Great place to come. We will be back. Thanks for the pretzels and chocolate deliciousness.

Stopped here on our way to Plymouth… he owners were both there with their beautiful golden retriever pups! We sampled all of their delicious wines and we were even encouraged to sample with pairings from ice cream to sherbert… we bought the port wine which was so smooth and delicious! Gonna entertain some friends when we get back home with this!!! They even recommended more stops along our way! So great full for the tips! Such nice people!!!

Convergence is, in my opinion, the best winery in the Ione area. The whites, like the Sauvignon Blanc, are excellent, and the reds particularly delicious. I really enjoyed their Barbera and their Petit Sirah. The winemakers are friendly, knowledgable and generous. The prices are reasonable. Definitely worth the stop.

Very good wine and a nice setting. They are off the beaten path a bit but well worth the visit. The owner/winemaker Steve is very knowledgeable and friendly. Wines across the board are very solid. Very close to giving it 5 stars…

We go wine tasting in Amador a few times a year but had never been to Convergence. I read a little article about them and had to go visit. My husband and I enjoyed each wine we tried and ended up joining their wine club. I look forward to many more wines from this vineyard.

Family owned and operated. Laid back tasting. Their Mr. Bubbles sparkling was my favorite that we tasted.

We planned a quick trip to Plymouth last weekend and decided we’d make Convergence our first stop because we specifically wanted to taste their Mr. Bubbles champagne. To my happy surprise we were greeted by winery dogs Maverick and River, two beautiful and lovable golden retrievers(you know I love a winery dog/cat). This seemed like my kinda place for sure until I mentioned to Jamie, the owner/wife of the winemaker, we were eager to try their champagne. She proceeded to tell us she had a specific list of wines available to taste that particular Saturday(not mid-week mind you) and the champagne was not on the list and she was just not going to open it for us. She was happy to sell us the champagne but simply refused to open one for tasting. So disappointing. Next time I am in the mood for champagne«locally» it won’t be Convergence that is on my list but rather McConnell in Elk Grove.

This was our first stop in our Amador wine tasting tour and one of the highlights. The winemakers were on vacation and the mom was taking care of the pets, garden, and wine. She was fantastic! She knew so much about the wine and was willing to share stories about the property. All the wines we tried were good. My girlfriend and I settled on the Petite Sirah 2008 Cooper Ranch, but wanted to buy many more. We highly recommend stopping here.

Mr. Bubbles is no longer for kids! If you don’t get the reference, you’re probably not an 80’s kid that took bubble baths! Our first stop for our girls adventure! Our limo driver had stocked us with a bottle of Mr. Bubbles, sparking wine, to get our party started — which is exactly what it did. We all fell in love… the next thing you know, we arrive at our first stop… and its the Home of Mr. Bubbles :) The husband and wife duo were so sweet! The eight of us have a good time on our own and can be loud, but these two took us in with open arms. Not to mention, River, their handsome dog was super sweet too. Off the beaten path, this winery sits where 3 rivers meet… hence the name of the winery. A little educational tidbit they schooled us on. Their wines were delicious, but nothing topped the Mr. Bubbles for me. My pallet is not as refined as most boughie’s would be, so I’m not hard to please. Every tasting I had was delicious, but I do remember really liking their Sav Blanc, which I normally am not a fan of — they’ve changed my ways! The give a 2% discount if you pay with cash & if you buy 6 bottles or more you also get a discount. I love the adult version of Mr. Bubbles…

2nd stop on our Amador wine trip. the wine descriptions alone would make me step in and try everything, but they had me at Mister Bubbles: not too dry, not too sweet, and goes down very easily. their Sauvignon Blanc was another flavorful wine that kept on giving even after the last drop. when you think it doesn’t get any better, yes they have a port chocolate raspberry sauce perfect for anything you can cover with chocolate. not only did Jamie share their amazing award winning wines with us but happily told us the history of their winery name, details about each wine, and held a relaxed and super funny conversation. definitely another addition to the so far perfect Amador wine tour.

If you get a chance to check out this place, you’ll be glad you did! For a new winery, they really make some great wines! They even have some other great stuff too, like wine & chocolate(which is great over ice cream) I’ve been to many wineries over the years, but this is the only one that I’ve joined the«wine club» well worth it, by the way! The only down side, I wish they where closer, since I live in SF, I don’t get over there as much as I would like too.

On a recent weekend trip with two of my best friends, we went wine tasting in Amador County. Convergence was definitely my favorite stop of the day. I was driving so I sampled a limited amount of what they have to offer but I did buy a bottle of their Sav Blanc and a bottle of their Barbara to enjoy at a later time, when I don’t have to drive. Another highlight was their Mister Bubbles, a delightful, smooth bubbly that we sipped on back at the cabin. Family run, this winery is pleasant and inviting. We were greeted outside and then directed inside. The day we visited, one of the owners, who is also a cookbook author, was sharing three different appetizers. The appetizers were all delicious and paired nicely with their wines. There is a 10% discount coupon in a local guide but they were also offering a number of discounts on specific varietals and half and full cases. Most wines are between $ 15 — $ 30. The winery sits on beautiful land so this is also a nice place to capture some images of your trip through the area.
