Finally found a salon that is top of the line. My stylist was Alisha. She was very personable, soft spoken and extremely knowledgeable. I barely had to explain what I was looking for. This will definitely be the place where I will continue to patronize. The only setback was that they do not take checks and that was all I had with me. Unfortunately they had to wait until I called in my credit card the next morning. I probably should take a star off for this but I won’t because it has nothing to do with the expertise of Alisha. She works magic!!!

I was traveling over an hour to the JJ Boston Newbury street location for over 10 years. When Plymouth opened I was thrilled!
Maree is top notch– the grand master of cuts and color! Worth every penny!

This place is great. Maree is amazing. She gets what I am saying even without me knowing the hair lingo. Never any pressure to buy anything but she takes to the time to explain any products she uses. I always walk out of there happy with the results.
I wish she was available more evenings. But she is worth the wait.

Very disappointed, I have been looking for a salon to commit to and this is not it. The appointment process on line was easy so I was hopeful but on arriving at the salon 5 minutes early, I was offered coffee and a spot in the waiting area. Since I was new was not sure who the stylist was but woman came out looked at the book then went outside to chat, and possibly have a cigarette with the receptionist, leaving me to wait 10 minutes. She did come introduce herself lead me to her chair for the consult, which was okay. Then she lead me to the shampoo station, where she proceed to tell me about her life. About half way through the cut I relized I had heard all about her life but she asked no questions about me. The cut was just okay and given the price I was less than impressed even later in the day. Now 6 days have passed and I can tell you it is not a good cut and for the price it was a bad cut. I will call and cancel the next appointment I was politely forced to make. Unless you feel impressed by the name the place is not worth the money.

Jen was amazing. The salon was beautiful and clean. The receptionist friendly. I had heavily dyed hair and jen was upfront telling she wasn’t sure that she could get the exact blonde I wanted due to all the dye in my hair but that she would try her best. And that she did! The blonde came out amazing and I have an appt with her in 6 weeks to go even blonder. She’s amazing and so is the salon. The quality of the work they do is worth every cent they charge! (She also sold me this amazing reparing mask) everyone should go here.

James Joseph in Plymouth is wonderful. I take great pride in my hair and only go to a salon I completely trust. This salon makes me feel welcome and calm. I always go to Melissa. She is one of those rare individuals that just has a gift for cutting hair. I actually moved out to California last year and still only get my hair cut by her when I come to visit Massachusetts. I cannot speak highly enough about Melissa and this salon.

Finally a Boston quality salon on the South Shore. When I was in college, I went to the Newbury street location.
The Plymouth location is just as fab! The only difference is you don’t need to fight to find a parking spot on Newbury St or take public transportation.
I go to Tina, I love her.

Made appt because of advertised charity event. Went in less than 30 minutes later, and my daughters and I had own hair cut. Kids had Kayla, who was charming, but only okay with their cuts. I had Melissa, who gave me the best haircut I have had in my entire life. She looked at the photos I showed her, talked to me about my hair texture and routine, and then asked permission to cut what she thought would look best on me. Funny thing is that we were on vacation, 3 hours away from where we live. I will drive back to see Melissa, that is how wonderful my hair looks and feels!

I made an appointment through the manager & they called & canceled one hour before my appointment while I was getting ready to leave. Very irritating.

Diane S. is very good at her craft! I moved here from Los Angeles 3 years ago and have struggled through some very mediocre to flat bad haircuts during this time. I have long layers and a high attention to detail. Diane exceeded my expectations!

I’ll admit it… I have hair anxiety. I have been to so many stylists, and I’ve come back every time with exactly what I DIDN’T want, until now! I have found my salon, and I have finally found a stylist who completely understands me. Maree Perrotta is the absolute BEST! She knows how to cut hair, she listened to my needs & wants, and never made me feel uncomfortable. She gave me an amazing cut & style! I will be going back to Maree! The salon itself is very clean, modern, and comfortable. Upon checking in, they offer tea, coffee, or water infused w/​fruit. Everyone is very kind and personable. Maree never pushed any products on me, but I did go home with a couple of products she used because I truly liked the results. She never tried to get me to purchase something I didn’t need. I felt completely respected and taken care of. Can’t wait to go back and have Maree color and highlight my hair! NOTE: Make sure you bring cash or check to pay the tip as they do not take debit or credit cards for that.

I’ve been stopped at conventions, on the T and out on the town about my hair. Not to brag, but it’s all because of Kristi. I’m currently sporting a great red head of hair with ombré and get so many compliments. I was convinced it wouldn’t grow past my shoulders and it is to the middle of my back now. If you want someone who really knows color and knows what will look good Kristi is the one!

I had my first appointment there today with Rosanne, one of the directors (a head stylist). She also works at the Newbury Street location in Boston and judging from the quality of her work, it was not surprising. The cut I got really was city quality. I used to go into Boston to get my hair done because whenever I get it cut around Plymouth I end up hating it, but now I will definitely be returning to Rosanne. She really listened to what I wanted and checked with me MANY times throughout the cutting process to ensure I liked what she was doing. She took her time carefully cutting my hair, taking so long that by the time she was done, my hair had totally dried! She was very careful and thoughtful and everyone else, such as the girl who washed my hair, was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this salon.
