What a great find in downtown(if you can call if a downtown) Plymouth. This was my second time wine tasting here before enjoying a mouth watering dinner at Taste. The first time they were out of almost all their wines, but this time everything on the list was available. The atmosphere is inviting, employees are super friendly and today the owner was pouring for us. The building is located right next to the towns original Post office from the 1900s adding to the charm and history. My favorite wine is the Gold Digger, well balanced, dry with just enough tannins. Really looking forward to next visit in Amador County, this has become our go to wine tasting area.

If you have not been to Prospect Cellars yet, stop reading this review and go now! The wine is great, the food is tasty, and the service is wonderful. This is a mom & pop shop that is right off Main Street in Plymouth, CA that you definitely will want to support! Stop by as your first stop to pick up lunch boxes, or stop by as your last stop as they are open late. Whatever you do… definitely make this a stop for 2016.

What a delightful find. Thanks to Unilocal reviews we stopped to visit this small winery’s tasting room. The owner was pouring with a friend of hers(whose family owns another local winery, Cooper Vineyards, which was also very good). They were both so friendly, knowledgeable and excited about the wines. Upon tasting, we were excited by them too. They are really good wine makers. Delightful deli and goodies. They served the most delicious crackers, which we ended up purchasing a couple bags of. Our favorite spot on our 3 day trip to El Dorado/Amador County.

Overpriced, rude, with little selection. The guy«helping» us had this uncomfortable sneer on his face the whole time my mother was talking to him, making the atmosphere very uncomfortable.

Love it here! Atmosphere A+ wine and food amazing. A must stop every visit to the wineries in this area. Enjoy outside with your wine and food pairing. Service attentive and if you are lucky you will get to see the owner Jaime!

Stopped in yesterday and picked up a couple bottles to have with dinner. Really excellent 2014 zinfandel with the«Pay Dirt» label and 2014 «Gold Digger» blend. Excellent wines that — at $ 17−30/bottle — won’t break the bank.

Great place to pick up food for lunch. Excellent gift ideas. We sent a beautiful gift to a friend for Christmas. And the wine is top notch!

Prospect Cellars is a must-stop shop on your way in or out of the Shenandoah Wine Country. Located on Main Street in the town of Plymouth, they have a wonderful boutique shop that offers great food options and tasty gourmet items, along with great wine. From made to order paninis, to the charcuterie and cheese platters, and the boxed to go packs specially made for white or red wine pairings, you can grab a bite before or after tasting at other local wineries. The wines they offer are some of the areas best, and the family has been in the local wine industry for generations. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and enhance the welcoming feel you experience as soon as you walk through the door. There are always seasonal gift baskets and goodies to take home. We always come back again and again. Don’t miss this place!

I love this place. They have some of the best wines in the region. The owners and staff are awesome. They also have great finger foods and sandwiches. If you are headed up to wine taste this is a must stop.

Went there last night with 3 girlfriends. Made this our last stop for the day of wine tasting. A friend had said it was a good place so I had to try. They stay open until 6. We tasted their selections and I was blown away. Loved the wine. We all did. Since we hadn’t eaten all day we were so glad they had food to nosh. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese plate. Lovely with the onion jam. Yumm. Then a Rueben, Chicken, caprese Panini. They divided it all up on plates for us. Excellent service and atmosphere. Great place to hit on your way to taste and grab a picnic to take with as well. Will def go back. We r planning on the 11th so I can buy the Zinfindel. The Gold Digger was a fav too.

Jaime was a great chef and host for our Paintball & Pinot party this weekend. We dropped our husbands and boys off at West Coast Adventure Park and the ladies headed for wine tasting! Prospect Cellars is a quaint tasting room with a delicious deli — perfect for a day of tasting in the valley!

What a lovely place! The proprietor was so welcoming and we enjoyed discussing wine with her while some family members showed up for a birthday party. Prospect Cellars has a homey feel, like hanging out in a friend’s kitchen(it’s a beautifully restored space). They are open until 6pm, so as other wineries close their twinkly lights beckon you in. If you are in Plymouth in search of a bite but not ready for dinner, they have some fine offerings of charcuterie and cheese to nibble on. The wines were all good and the prices reasonable. There was no sales pressure, but we decided to take home a bottle of the Gold Digger red. Prospect is worth a stop to just enjoy some friendly conversation in a warm and welcoming environment.

We stopped here for a panini sandwich and a lunch salad before embarking on an afternoon of wine tasting and foothills exploration. It’s been a while since I checked out the area on a wine expedition. This place was new to me. It was nice to be able to wine taste and have lunch at the same time. One of the better experiences I’ve had in the Plymouth area. Especially enjoyed the barbara they were pouring, so that’s what we bought to take with us. The lady pouring this weekend was friendly, interesting, and knew quite a bit about the foothills area. I would recommend this place for a first stop when visiting Amador wine country.

My husband and I thought the wines were higher quality than many in the area. Not a bad one in the bunch; all balanced and very enjoyable. The proprietor was an easygoing and welcoming woman — we enjoyed hearing a bit of her family’s history in the county, and thoroughly savored our cheese plate while sitting out front enjoying the gorgeous fall weather. We left with several bottles of wine and plans to return next time we’re able! Edit to add: very hip labels on these bottles.
