We stopped in yesterday for the first time and there was an event so we assumed it would be hard to do a tasting but, to our surprise, we were cheerfully and promptly greeted by Jan. Jan shared the history of the winery, the wines and we even got to meet Scott the owner/winemaker who was also very nice and a delight to meet. Great wines, fantastic staff and thank you to Jan for the attentiveness, passing along info on Hale Winery Refrigeration and for proving why Plymouth is our favorite place.

Scott Harvey wines are the best! I’ve been a fan of their wines for a few years so when I heard they were opening a tasting room in Plymouth I couldn’t wait to visit! We ended up going with a larger group and I was afraid we would get the sub par«wine tasting group experience» but that wasn’t the case at all! The staff happily greeted us all and was happy to accommodate everyone. We had a blast getting to know the staff and of course the wines were so phenomenal, I just had to sign up for their wine club!

Horrible experience. Rude service, not welcoming to out group. Travel to multiple wineries I this area and never experienced something so awful. Never to return.

My first trip to Scott Harvey was at their Sutter Creek location, the subsequent visits have been to this location. During my times in Amador I have found many wineries which are good but less then 5 that I love and guard the wines from friends when they come visit. Scott Harvey has become one of those wineries but rather than me looking like a crazy person who won’t open wines, I can simply pick one of their other wines that I don’t mind opening for a night of catching up with friends! The Jana wines are without a doubt my favorite Napa wines and I seem to be more surprised with each new one I sample. They also have white wines which I usually don’t care for but I really enjoy the Jana and One Last Kiss ones I have tried. All I can say is stop here! Make the time to visit Scott Harvey, I am pretty sure you won’t be disappointed!

Super Fun and Exceptional Quality in the same visit! We were blown away by the Scott Harvey wines we tried. We had visited their tasting room in Sutter Creek but dropped by the tasting room at their new winery on Shenandoah Road. These wines are the real deal and we took home several mixed cases. Scott has been making wine for over 40 years and has a lot of experience in Amador County as well as Napa Valley. We got to talk to him while we were at the winery but his great staff toured us through his remarkable line-up. We were crazy about the Barbera, he has a number of different styles of Zinfandels that were all delicious and his Syrah was outstanding. They even had some wonderful Cabernets and Sauvignon Blancs that they make at their production facility in Napa Valley. Nicole was super helpful and knowledgeable and she waived the tasting fee. Highly recommended by true wine lovers! Cheers, The JuJus

We toured Amador County wineries for the first time this past week. We had heard that they were up and coming, and we’re looking for better price points than Napa. Scott Harvey did not disappoint. Their wines were definitely at or near the top of anything we tasted in the region. Barbera and Zins were favorites, and I even surprised myself by leaving with a bottle of Rose. The staff were friendly and knowledgable, and helped this relative amateur understand better what I was tasting and the winemaker’s methods. Amador was well worth the trip, and Scott Harvey was definitely a highlight.

Visited this tasting room today based on the great Unilocal reviews… Wine is subjective, so I will just say that their wines didn’t line up with my palette. They tasting fees and then a nearly $ 50 price point for what I would consider their only drinkable wine would be better invested next door at Turley or down the street at Cooper. Tasting staff seemed very new and didn’t know much about the wine or the winemaker.

Scott Harvey has a new tasting room. We’d been to the one in Sutter Creek, had a great time, and then, without expecting it, we stumbled upon this new place while on the main road. It’s bigger, and it looks like this will be a production facility, not simply a room to taste in a cool little old gold rush town. Let me be clear, I love both. The bottom line, the wine is good. He’s got access to some very old vines, he’s making some big bold wines, and he’s got some on the lighter side of red as well. The folks pouring the wine were fun, and this helps me to enjoy the experience a lot more. There was no attitude, no looking down their nose at me, etc. Ice Wine? Yep. Zinfandel? Yep, and, again, very old vines. Barbera? Yep Cabernet? Napa Valley fruit, and not inexpensive. Others too numerous to add here? Yes Simply put, it’s a great addition to this part of the Sierra Foothills wine experience. I joined the club, and we got 30% off our purchase on the day we joined. They also waived the tasting fee. We’ll be back.
