Having to travel 50+ nights a year, I would like to think that i know the difference between a good hotel, an average hotel and a place that I wouldn’t want to die in. Look at my rating and you can tell what I think of this place. I usually don’t rate establishments but I will make an exception here. Management, hid in a back office when we had a serious problem(not kidding) but was kind enough to call a housekeeping attendant on her cell phone and ask to pass the phone to us. While the housekeeping attendant hovered and told us not to steal her phone. Rooms, not quite horrid but close. Everything looks clean but everything smells moldy. Desk staff, quotable line«just doing what I’m told»(remember the manager hiding)

Dickies, which is the Swan Lake Resort recently rehabbed grill is an ok place to eat. There are a number of micro-majors on tap along with a fine beer and wine list for this area of the country. I’m not being condescending here, the beer and wine list is good or better than any place else you’ll find in Plymouth. The food is passable. We started with the beer cheddar dip(ok). I had a bacon grilled cheese sandwich and my cohorts, the bison meatloaf and burger respectively. Neither were raving. We’re here two more nights and we’ll be trying other establishments. Dickies has a lot of potential but it has an identity crises. It wants to be sophisticated but it doesn’t want to isolate the locals. I asked the lady at the Holiday Inn desk if she had heard of this place and she had not. It is a bit out of town but obviously they are not chasing a local crowd. This place is for the golfers and business folk staying at the resort. Right now, they need to ratchet the food quality up one notch and bring more life to their dining room and bar.
