The Candy Trail

This shop is very cute, has a pretty good selection of bulk and specialty candy, and even some small gifts, toys, and stuffed animals. A great place to go for a kid’s birthday present. I love to go for the satellite wafers which are so hard to find anywhere else. I also grabbed a bunch of taffy which tasted great (although it was a teeny bit stale, but what can you do). I got chocolate chip cookie and vanilla cupcake taffy and both were great. I also picked up a few pieces of Easter candy that were 75% off. They’ve got some gourmet chocolate bars too.
I think it was a minimum purchase of $ 5 to use credit cards, so that’s helpful to know.

With the ice fest going on right now, I thought I would highlight this little gem. If you have kids or a sweet tooth of your own, this is a great stop.
They carry bulk candy (50+ little bins worth) like lollipops, zotzs, Mary Janes, Squirrel nuts, chocolate, gummies and licorice. They have so many single colors of M&M’s, 24 flavors of Jelly Bellys, a sea of taffies and even a pucker powder machine to make your own pixy sticks. Fun! They can even make candy bouquets or baskets if you have a friend in need.
The store also features toys, stuffed animals, webkins, puzzles and other kid delights. Michigan children’s authors are highlighted and you are sure to find a book for any child in your life. Maybe this makes up for hyping your friends kids on sugar somewhat, yeah you were just trying to promote reading and ummm buying local. Hey guess what kind of pixy sticks we created?
At any rate it is worth a whirl. If you have kids of your own you might like to swing by for one of their storytimes with hot cocoa or even stock up for the next kiddie party. If you are a grownup without kids well… hey good for you, you will not have to share your haul!
