The Office Bistro

This restaurant is conveniently located on the waterfront and has a few window tables which are a nice snag. They also have a sweet seating option in the back of their restaurant side that reminds me of a lounge or someone’s living room. Great for a small group of friends to meet up and mingle at. My friend and I ate on the bar side and snagged one of the window tables. The drinks were fun. We both ordered fun cocktails, lemon drops and ginger infused Martinis. The food was pretty good. We only ordered two food items the guacamole app and a flat bread pizza with Fig, Gorgonzola and prosciutto. The flatbread had great flavor but I wish it had more substance. The chopped guacamole is a fun take on the traditional app. The pita chips are delicious. I recommend ordering one of their specialty coffee drinks, a great way to finish off the evening. Overall our experience was good but a bit more expensive then I expected. Either way I’ll be going back and utilizing that great space in the back with a group of fiends. They mentioned hosting groups in that space which is a wonderful option.

I was skeptical based on the mixed reviews, but a Groupon prompted us to try it. We were pleasantly surprised; the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the service was attentive and the food was quite good. The beet salad was large and fresh, the clam chowder (although small) was the best I have had and the Mediterrean flatbread and Truffle oil/​mushroom flatbread were quite delicious. There is entertainment on weekend nights, but we left before it started. We plan to definitely return, with or without a Groupon.

Won’t go back. Food I can make at home. Nice waitress but WAY TMI. Only good thing was the awesome acoustic guitarist. Buffalo mozzarella ok. Risotto good. Terrible seared tuna, chopped guacamole had no avocado, bacon wrapped scallops were likely frozen. It was terrible. Don’t waste your money. Seriously.

Ok, so I think I missed something or maybe I caught them on a bad day. Bought a living social deal. Read the reviews and as you can see they get 3 ½ stars. So came here for lunch on a Saturday with my boyfriend. Drove from Dorchester (over 30 miles). Décor pretty outdated. Bar chairs very wobbly. And seeing that it’s winter do not sit at the bar otherwise you will get the draft from the side door. Ordered a corona… lime looked like it was cut up days ago. On to the food… first the guacamole IS NOT guacamole. It’s diced tomatoes with a few specs of avocado. And it cost $ 10. The Mediterranean flatbread was ok… you better LOVE olives. And last and very least the Lobster Panini… It IS NOT A PANINI. It was a red onion with a few pieces of Very Very chopped up Lobster meat in between two pieces of toasted white bread and a small amount of lays potato chips. Horrible. And they charge $ 16 for this. Not to mention as soon as the lobster was delivered to us the «cook/​chef» tells the staff «86 on the lobster» which means in the restaurant world — We are out of it or it was bad. Which leads me to believe the lobster they served us was the bottom of barrel (scraps). So save yourself the trip and go to the other restaurants on the harbor. And yes we made this very clear to the bartender…

When we visited The Office Bistro. My husband had the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, & I had the Lobster Panini sandwich. We were so surprised. This small bistro had the most beautiful presentation we have seen in a long time. The Lobster panini was so flavorful, & full of lobster. The tots with truffle oil & parmesan flakes were so good, I felt guilty eating them all. My husband couldn’t say enough able the scallops, mashed potatoes & tasteful carrots. Can’t wait to go back!

The place is small. I did not like dirty Windows and door glass. This is NOT true tapas. With that said, the meatballs and the bruschetta were pretty good. The Brazilian grill was horrible. Dry beef. over cooked chicken. The sauces are all wrong as well. There should have been a plain sweet and sour and a honey Dijon instead of this mango stuff and whatever else was there for sauce. They were not distinguishable. My husband had chowder that was fair at best. The pizza was ok as well. We had a groupon and even with the groupon. I thought we overpaid for what we got. If you are in Plymouth. go the the Driftwood… East Bay Grille or Waterfront bar and grille. Also, Anna’s on the harbor side is way way better than this place. I would not go back even if it was free!

Randomly went in last night. We were pleasantly surprised. The Caprese salad was one of the best I have had in a long time. The pesto/​balsamic mix was spot on the the mozzarella was as fresh as I have had. The homemade ravioli stuffed with Chorizo was decent but lacked a spicy flavor profile. The flatbreads were great, especial the prosciutto and fig.
Def worth a visit. There is a Groupon.

Great clam chowder !!! Excellent service, food and awesome view ask for Paul to be the server.

Very bad service. (If I can even say that, since we walked in, were served water, and then nobody ever came over to take our order.) 20 minutes went by, nobody came by. Other guests leaned back in their chair, got our attention, and pointed to their empty glasses, telling us our best bet was to leave since their service was also apparently atrocious. Keep in mind this place is small, and we made eye contact with the server/​bartender several times, and they just ignored us. Very bizarre experience.

While visiting Plymouth Rock we had some dinner here. We ordered couple of tapas and starters.
Hummus with bread vegetables: very good home made hummus. Could have some more carrots though to dip in.
Guacamole and chips: very delicious pita chips. Guacamole had too little avocado in it. It was more tomato salad with some avocado. Nonetheless delicious.
Caprese salad: very good. Loved the mozzarella and the pesto.
Overall food tasted good and was presented well. Prices are decent as well.
However, the ambience needs some up dating and small repairs. The wood looks bit beat up and you spot chipped paint here and there.
Service was good and waitress was very friendly.
Overall: A nice place for a dinner with a great view.

I love this place, the food is fresh and very consistent. The staff actually cares about the quality of their service and it shows. Come here Id you want quality food served by somewhere who cares.

This place is way better than it seems! You really can not judge it by appearance.
My husband and I stopped here today to eat a late lunch/​early dinner. The décor and ambiance really made us a little unsure of what we were getting into. The menu also seems a little over confident due to its wide range of varieties, offering Mediterranean, italian, brazilian, and American dishes. We were thinking of just ordering a small plate or two and finding entrees elsewhere because we were starting to feel skeptical. We are SO happy that we ended up staying!
We ordered a side caesar salad and a meatball small plate to start. Both were surprisingly delicious! I don’t think I’ve ever found a restaurant that offers a good marinara sauce that I actually enjoy until today. The presentation of the plates were also pretty impressive.
We ordered the short ribs and sirloin fillet entrees for our meals– wonderful! The presentation, portion size, and flavor was all perfect!
Also, our waitress was very friendly, answered all of our questions, and brought us all of our food and drinks quicker than expected. The service was great! We definitely recommend this place!

Sat at the bar to grab a drink. Nice bartender, live music, great views, low key place.

Saw this place on Phantom Gourmet and it looked interesting. The bartender was a nice guy and very friendly. Nothing on the menu really wowed us. We ordered the meatballs and they were good size, seasoned and dressed well. They were cooked well. They didn’t know our socks off but they were fine. I ordered a beer only to be told they no longer had that beer but had a similar one. I said sure why not. The beer was lighter than expected and had a weird after taste. My wife ordered a Moscato and enjoyed it. The place itself looks very run down and needs a lot of minor repairs to the walla, door frames etc. The bar stools are very beat up and one of them it felt like it was about to break when you sat on it. I thought this place was new but everything looks very very old. The place had a stickiness to the touch feel to as well.

I came here with a Groupon and was really impressed! Big drink selection and food was really much better than I expected. They have live acoustic music, which is good but is a bit too loud — just a little less and it would be great. I ended up coming here again with a couple of friends for drinks as a result and it was a really fun night. I ended up buying another Groupon and will be heading back soon!

The owner is nice here and you can really tell he cares about his customers, and the ambience.
My favorite drink here is the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale on draft. Perfect temperature and boy do you get tipsy from it :)
The music there is good, I LOVE the sofa area. It’s super cozy! Lighting is perfect.
Great place for a date, but also to catch up with friends and have a great time.
People are friendly and the wait staff also! Super attentive.
Food is always great too.
No complaints!
I actually travel to Plymouth just to stop by here for a drink!

Disclaimer: I am giving this place 3 stars because I went with a groupon and paid $ 22 for $ 40. If I had actually paid $ 40, they would be getting 2 stars. Read: for short money, it was not terrible. If you’re paying full price, look elsewhere.
We started our meal with the gorgonzola, bacon wrapped dates. I’ve had this kind of this before and it’s always great. The bacon was over done (burnt), which kind of ruined the whole experience of them for me. I really wanted to like them… Between the two of us we had the house burger and the fig and prosciutto flatbread. The burger was a standard burger, served with tater tots. I couldn’t tell if the tots were homemade, or frozen and then spruced up. They weren’t terrible, but if you’re going to try and do something like tater tots, they have to blow your mind. Otherwise, you’re just serving cafeteria food with truffle oil, and really should just stick to standard truffle fries. Don’t do that to truffle oil, it’s just not fair. Flatbread was not that memorable. I am not sure if the crust was homemade… it was nothing special. It wasn’t terrible, it was just not something I couldn’t have better somewhere else.
We each had one of their tapas style desserts, and those were delicious. Not sure if they are homemade or not, but they were good nonetheless. Perfect little dessert size.
Regarding the interior… ugh. The ceiling was chipping off right over our table. The wall was flaking off. I mean… come on. I should not look up and see that the ceiling paint/​plaster is almost hanging off the ceiling.
All in all, this is the kind of place that I will not go back to, might forget exists, and when I’m in Plymouth will probably point to it and say «oh yeah… I think we’ve been there.» I can see what they are trying to do between the décor and the food, but they’re just not there yet. This place is trying to be Hola in Marshfield but not succeeding. Just go to Hola.

Eh. The Office Bistro left me kind of confused. The décor didn’t seem to match the menu, which had no apparent theme. I enjoyed my meal, but it was quite overpriced and unfortunately, the service was not great. Our server didn’t come by our table often enough and couldn’t tell us what types of cheese were on our cheese plate.

We have been wanting to try this place and dined here on a recent Friday night. I liked the atmosphere. Small and cozy, right across from the harbor. Service was fine.
As other reviewers have already pointed out, The Office is having an identity crisis with their menu offerings. I don’t understand the «tapas» section. Just call it «small plates», but you have Italian to Middle Eastern to American Comfort food items here. We did not try any «tapas» as nothing here looked unique and tempting.
I ordered the $ 7.00 clam chowder. The portion that arrived was a small cup at best. The taste was there, but hardly any clams or other chunks. $ 7.00? Are you kidding?
On to the entrée’s. We waited quite a while and the restaurant was not very full.
I got the Boneless Short Rib ($ 17.00) and it was decent. The portion was good, but I felt the meat could have been more tender. I’ve braised a better short rib myself. The sauce on top seemed to be right out of a bottle. The potatoes were just ok. There was a dry mini corn bread muffin on the plate.
We also had the Seafood Medley pasta ($ 21.00). My companion was very disappointed with this portion. There was about ¾ lb of linguine on the plate with: 2 TINY shrimp, 2 small bay scallops wrapped in bacon, one tiny piece of lobster. Plus two pieces of bread. A lot of cheap starchy filler here! Need I remind The Office that your front door is literally 30 feet from the ocean? You cannot call that dish a medley of seafood unless you want to be labeled as a tourist trap. The fresh pasta was good and the sauce flavor was nice and light, but we could not get past the lack of seafood on this dish.
I’ve lived in Boston and surrounding areas all my life. I love living in Plymouth. Yes, we have a lot of restaurants to choose from, but so many fall short on the value for quality and quantity. I guess I have to accept the fact that most places are tourist traps, year round. I have no problem spending money for a worthy meal, but I’ve felt ripped off many times in Plymouth.
If you’re considering trying this place for entrée’s, I would go to the Rye Tavern or Sabor and spend a few more dollars if I were you. You’ll get a more inspired menu, excellent food and better value for your money.

I had a decent meal here and enjoyed the atmosphere. There was some live music the night I went so it was good for a solo dining experience. I had the short ribs, which had a great flavor though slightly over done. The bartender was really nice and friendly. I’m guessing this is one of the more happening spots in Plymouth.
