All was good, you should go here for a good breakfast. But not remarkable. We had ‘water street breakfast’(eggs, home fries and meat) I had bacon and my wife had sausage. I tried the sausage… Wowsa salty! I had Crunchy stuffed French toast which was good and made crunchy by coating it with some breakfast cereal. Good food. Lots of people here on a Monday holiday. But not remarkable food. Lots of Windows, which makes me happy, but not remarkable décor. Wait staff worked hard.

Water Street Café has always been a popular local spot for breakfast but after every(infrequent) visit, I often find myself wondering why this is. When I have ordered the crunchy French toast, more than once it had a taste of old grease with a hint of onion-like they possibly cook it in the same spot as the home fries. As another reviewer has mentioned, the home fries will often be served over-cooked and cold. I have found that, quite often, one of the meals at my table will come out cold. I have dined at this place at least three dozen times and have never been«wowed» by anything on their menu. The service is rarely genuinely friendly nor are they consistent in getting the order out in a timely manner. Once in a while, I still get roped into going with friends or family members. We stand in everyone’s way, waiting for a table… while regulars will just cut-ahead and sit down. It hasn’t changed much. maybe that is part of the charm?

I come here for breakfast and it is very good. Service is prompt and friendly. I recommend this place for families as well.

The water street breakfast is very reasonable. 2 eggs, 4 bacon, home fries and either 2 cakes or french toast. I substituted for crunchy french toast and honestly it was the best french toast that I’ve had ever. Worth the drive.

Food pretty good but a little pricey for breakfast food. Long wait for food both times I have been here. Overall ok but can only give 3 stars.

You’ll leave here hungry. So overrated, I don’t understand the hype. I’m a pretty lousy cook, and I can make eggs and pancakes at home that are way better. The All American Diner is so much better. Portions are small, not cheap for the small amount of food, and service is usually a bunch of high school kids who don’t know what they’re doing. I’d even go so far as to say that Friendly’s service is more efficient.

Great value for the money. Nice friendly staff. Plenty of food. That’s what you need for breakfast before hitting the sea.

Service was terrible. Food was terrible. This place was a let down and I will not be going there again. We waited a solid half hour for or check and then another ten minutes for her to take the card. It wasn’t busy. Thumbs down.

Water St. is THEPLACE to be for breakfast in Plymouth. While there will probably be a line out the door when you arrive, it is certainly worth the wait. I came with my sister yesterday to get my Water St. fix while I am at home. We started off with hazelnut iced coffees and ordered the Water St. Breakfast(eggs, choice of meat, pancakes or french toast, homefries). I upgraded my french toast to crunchy french toast which was amazing. Seriously, if you come here please get the CRUNCHYFRENCHTOAST. It’s unlike anything I have ever had. Prices are decent and you get a good amount of food. The service is always fast and courteous here. Lunch is also served but breakfast is served all day and it is what they are known for. Parking is easy in the lot next to the restaurant.

This was probably the worst food we’ve had for breakfast in quote a long time. First of all while we were waking for a table we watched someone in the kitchen pick up a pair of tongs that had fallen on the floor and use the for the bacon. Needless to say I didn’t let my kids order bacon. The steak in the steak and eggs that was ordered medium was charcoal. My banana bread French toast and my daughters pancakes were brought to the table cold. Our waitress never showed up again until the check was brought to us 20 minutes later. Then we waited 15 minutes just to pay. So all in all it was VERY disappointing.

I went here the other morning for breakfast with my daughter. It was great, everything a breakfast place should be. The food was good, reasonably priced, and service was fast and friendly. We both got omelettes which were good but we both loved the home-fries.

Man, has this place nose-dived! Burnt, overcooked eggs; undercooked, over seasoned Home fries all served by Lisa, a waitress who thinks throwing things on your table, never smiling and not even making eye contact is good service. Yuck!!! Never, ever again!

Maybe we were there on an off day but we were underwhelmed by our breakfast. The wait staff was very nice and the service was fine but it was a bit pricey. $ 3.25 for a soda? Seems a bit much. The food was so so. The strawberries on my pancakes weren’t ripe and the corned beef hash was incredibly salty. My husband had the crunchy french toast and was not impressed. We would not come here again.

This unassuming spot is one of our favorites when traveling through Plymouth. Reliable, usually crowded by not too too long a wait, good for breakfast or lunch. My kids devour the pancakes, omelets are good, and the salads at lunch are huge.

Nothing great. Service was good, food was poor. I had the banana bread french toast. it tasted like banana bread that you would take out of a cellophane package that you would buy at a convenience store. The toast that came with my husband’s meal was thin, cheap bread. Think stop and shop brand. Eggs were rubbery. Won’t go again.

Date of service: Dec 27, 2014 Meal: Breakfast, Eat in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 8 Food to Spend Value: 8 Quality of Service: 7 Overall Rating: 8 We were heading into Plymouth in the morning to pick up meat from a butcher and wanted to have breakfast. We had done Persey’s earlier in the week so wanted something different, and Water Street Café popped up in Unilocal results. It sounded good, so off we went to check it out. The breakfast menu has a number of diverse and tasty sounding options. The crunchy french toast was talked about a lot in multiple reviews, so I decided to try it out with blueberry cream cheese filling, along with a side of bacon. It was oh so good. The french toast had a wonderful flavor, and the crunch on the outside was the perfect texture and was outstanding, The bacon wasn’t special but was good and fried up just nicely. Overall it was a very delicious breakfast and one I would likely repeat since the french toast was so different than others I have had. Someone else in my group had the breakfast burrito, and it was quite hearty looking and evidently delicious as well. The portions were good, the prices reasonable, and the food delicious. Other reviewers have mentioned service being spotty at times, but we had no problem with service, as our waitress was both helpful and attentive. Overall, Water Street Café is a great breakfast choice and will definitely be a spot I return to in the future.

As I sit here and wait for my chocolate milk to come that I ordered 20 minutes ago, my plate is empty and the kids across from us who came in after us have already been served with all their needs, paid, and left. I’m not sure if they are locals and favorites, but either way, the service is terrible. Who knew I could write a Unilocal review while I’m sitting in the actual establishment. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered an omelet. Usually a 3 egg omelet is the size of the plate, not at this place. I could have picked it up and put it between my toast and ate it as a sandwich. But the service is terrible. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back. I think our waitress said 3 words to us the entire time. I’ve never left a breakfast place still hungry. I typically can’t even finish my breakfast let alone clear my plate and still want more. I don’t understand how this place has 3.5 stars.

Get there early because it fills fast! Breakfast is good. My favorites are the french toast and stuffed crunchy french toast. Bloody Mary’s are good, a little spicy with celery. The coffee is usually pretty watery. Service is friendly and(usually) pretty quick. I have never tried the lunch items because they serve breakfast at lunchtime.

I’ve been here a handful of times over the years but most recently was two months ago(end of August). I came with a friend for breakfast at 10:30AM on a weekday. It was moderately busy but we were seated right away. Seating in here is a big awkward. Well at least our table was. It was right in the middle of the room when you walk in on the right. We were so close to the tables on either side of ours they could hear our conversations and us theirs. My friend ordered an omelette and I got the crunchy raspberry French toast. Our food came out 15 minutes later which was fine. The omelette looked really good and the home fries that came with it were delicious. My friend wasn’t too thrilled I stole a few-haha. My French toast was good but extremely sweet. It was 2 thick pieces of bread loaded with raspberry jam and some butter in between. It was so sweet I could eat only about half of it. I think my meal was around $ 9 and the omelette maybe $ 7 – 8? I can’t remember exactly but the bill was a wee bit high for breakfast in my opinion. Then again it’s downtown Plymouth so they can get away with it with all the tourists. Service was ok– nothing great or awful, just middle of the road. I would come back but I’d definitely get eggs next time. I heard the lunches are good as well.
