Super cute juice spot! Very friendly and great prices for fresh and healthy smoothies and fruit bowls. We tried the Dragon Fruit Medley, Cold Buster and Strawberry Banana smoothies. We were able to substitute out fruits/veggies we didn’t like with ones we preferred. We will definitely be back to try more flavors!

The best acai bowls in town. Actually in the world! My mouth is watering for one right now.

I’ve had all the bowls in town… seriously…and there are a few worth your money, then a few that you feel ripped off because those worth your money spoiled it for the rest. Northside Shack does just that, they spoil it for the rest. The girls(and guy) are awesome, the blends they do are top quality. This place is a locally owned gem with top shelf goodness, it ain’t some high fructose heaven, corporate health food, juice bar chain. I make the drive from East County, nothing compares close to where I live. Support small biz, cool people, and knowledge.

Do not order their acai bowl unless you are prepared to not want an acai bowl from any other place. Ever. Again. This shop is about 20 miles from our home and I can already tell from our 1st visit that we will be making this drive for their acai bowls a regular occurrence. I have never had that much fruit(and variety of fruit) as well as dried ingredients in one bowl from any other place. The freshness of the fruit, the quality of their ingredients… take my money! I’d pay double. It is THATGOOD. To top it off… service is just as incredible as their product!

This is amazing. I’ve never had these bowls and they are so delish. I wasn’t looking for bacon and eggs to start my morning. After traveling all day I wanted something refreshing wholesome and good for my body. I had the acai berry bowl small fully loaded substitute nuts for the granola(gluten free) and add a side of fresh almond butter. Wow feels like whole foods exploded in my mouth. My body is so happy right now.

Great spot for smoothies and fruit bowls. We had the strawberry banana, chef’s special and carrot cake. All of them were good. Not much parking. Prices are a little steep at an average of $ 7 per drink. It’s hard to complain too much though… Because they were really delicious.

I don’t really want to give this place 3 stars, but I had my first visit there this morning and it was quite disappointing. I really like their menu and everything they have to offer, but I had to wait 25 minutes for my bowl and then they got my order wrong. I was in a bit of a time crunch in the first place so I did not have time for them to make me another bowl. I ordered a 50⁄50 bowl. Which is half acai half pataya. I was super excited when I saw that on the menu because I’ve been wanting to try pataya but wasn’t sure of is like it so I thought a half and half would be perfs! I asked the lady how long of a wait it would be and she said 10 minutes. I should have known that would not be the case since there was about 5 people ahead of me. After waiting 25 minutes they give me my order of just an acai bowl. Sooooo disappointed! I told them that I ordered a 50⁄50 bowl and the girl was very sweet about it and have me a side of pataya to take with me. It worked out for the most part. I scooped the pataya on top of the acai and it tastes really good! I would highly recommend the combo! The actual bowl was really good and had lots of fresh cut fruit on top which was great! It was just a very very long wait and then not get your correct order is a bit frustrating. I will be back again to give this place another try. Like I said I like what they have to offer and I like supporting local businesses. Maybe next time will be a 5 star experience!

This place is awesome! Came here for the first time w/a couple of friends & it was everything & more. They serve healthy smoothies, juices, acai bowls, pitaya bowls, & oatmeal! All served w/so much toppings it’s ridiculously amazing. I ordered… OATMEAL: This came w/the same toppings as the acai & pitaya bowls. You could add peanut butter for $ 1. I got a small & it was super filling; they’re definitely not greedy with the amount served. You could have this with whole milk, almond milk, or water. My friends got… ACAI/PITAYA BOWL:(«50/50»): Cannot get over the amount of toppings this had. I tried my friend’s & it wasn’t too sweet. It didn’t melt easily either. Customer service: There was two people working when we came in & they were very informative & welcoming. They made the bowls quick as well. PS: The oatmeal, acai, & pitaya bowls are $ 8 for the small & $ 10 for the large.

This is not your average smoothie joint. This is the STARWARS of smoothie joints. Simply outstanding, acai bowls and smoothies with unique blends from the very thoughtful and visionary owner, Pamela, and all of her health conscious staff. I especially love the intense care taken in piling on top and on bottom fruit in my acai bowls, and suggestions for a «shot» of ginger or wheatgrass with a fruit chaser. Inventive, healthy fun by an incredibly knowledgeable staff. I’m working my way through the menu, and boy, it’s deep and wide with creative goodies. Secret: Acai Root. My hope is that Pamela franchises and goes nationwide. YUM!

Best acai experience ever! I got 50⁄50 acai & pitaya! They include more toppings than anywhere else! They’re also the best quality ingredients! They have so much more to offer than most places I’ve been to all San Diego. A++++ in customer service. The owner Pam is super sweet and will to talk to you so you know exactly what you’re getting. I will be back every time I’m in point Loma :-))

Very small little juice/smoothie/acai bowl joint off rosecrans in point loma that caters to everyone’s smoothie needs and offers healthy choices for breakfast or light lunch. The ladies working were both extremely friendly and helpful since we had never had acai bowls and needed suggestions. We decided to try one pitaya bowl and one acai bowl. They were topped with tons of fresh sweet fruit(pictured), crunchy granola, and a frozen pitaya/acai yogurt like base. They were both extremely good. Personal preference wise, I liked the pitaya bowl better and am excited to try one of their smoothies eventually. The only negative aspect is the lack of seating. It is obviously a primarily takeout joint.

Pitaya is good everywhere but it’s the toppings that make it. Northside Shack adds so many delicious fresh fruit and dry toppings, and they also offer a 50 – 50 split of Acai & Pitaya, which a lot of places don’t. This place is very reasonably priced for their bowls, with all the toppings you get, figuring that other places charge $ 9.50 for the same size bowl with less toppings. YES, I am ALL about the toppings & this place is awesome! Be prepared to wait for your creation as it takes a while.

I finally brought the hubby in, and he is now hooked too. On our last visit, we added peanut butter to our Acai/Pitaya bowls. I didn’t think you could make something perfect even better, but if you like peanut butter, then this is the way to go. They don’t just add a spoonful either. You get a bit of peanut butter with every bite. Amazing! $ 8/bowl, $ 1 extra for peanut butter, $ 2 extra for almond butter… worth every penny!

Although this place has limited seating, who cares since they make some great tasting smoothies. I stopped in after dinner for a smoothies to enjoy on the way home and ordered the«Breakfast» smoothie oddly enough in the early evening. The smoothie came with roasted sweet potatoes, bananas, almond milk, dates, and agave for $ 6.50. The smoothie was very well prepared and blended. It had a smooth and mildly icy viscosity and terrific flavor. I was surprise how well I was able to taste so many of its ingredients. The moist prominent were the bananas, sweet potatoes, and almond milk, but the dates with their bit of sweet and little pieces of chewiness were evident. All in all, it was a very good smoothie hit the spot and made my trek home more enjoyable, especially when I knew I was going to stuck in traffic. The ladies running the front of the shack were quite the pleasant bunch. They had were friendly and participated in great conversation. Prices are very fair, compare to other juice bars around town. They also make acai and pitaya bowls and make raw juices as well. Great shack indeed.

Pam Olvera is a genius for opening up such an outstanding juice bar. I came in this morning in hope to say hi to my old friend, but unfortunately she wasn’t in. Instead I was greeted by two awesome ladies who assisted me with my order. The acai bowl was absolutely incredible. If you’re into Carl’s Jr and McDonald’s this isn’t the place for you. Everything is so healthy and Pam incorporates a tasty twist to everything. Northside Shack is a perfect place to enjoy a hot day in sunny San Diego. You have to check it out. Pam makes eating healthy fun!

I had the cactus blend and it was nice and refreshing. The girls I was with had acai bowls and they all loved them. The girls that were working were also so sweet and friendly and willing to answer any questions. Would definitely come back! They gave us free kombucha samples and the list of different juices is huge! Lots of innovating and unique options. Only downside is no A/C so I’d recommend getting a drink to go.

Found this place when me and my friends where craving acai bowls and omg we are hooked on to this place. Their acai is always on point. It cost $ 8 for their small bowl and $ 10 for the bigger one. Which isn’t that bad considering all the toppings they give you. And if you don’t like any of the toppings they can always take it out. Service is always super friendly here. Love this place!

I came to this shop(under different ownership) for the first time when we moved to the neighborhood last year and wasn’t that impressed — mostly because of the guy who helped us(who seemed distracted) and his suggestion/drink was just so-so. I’m glad I went back to try it again today because I had the BEST drink ever made by the new owner, who was friendly and very helpful. I love that there are many suggested blends and juices but that you can also create your own using your choice of base(organic apple juice, coconut milk, or almond milk) and up to 5 ingredients for $ 6. I decided to try my own combination of Apple juice, black grapes, mango, bananas, and ginger and it was amazing! She even gave me a little taste of kombucha which I’ve never had before and surprisingly liked. As soon as I finished my 16 ounces I was craving another! I don’t know if they have a frequent buyer program/card but I hope so because I’ll be back soon… maybe tomorrow! Update: I’ve tried to come back three times so my only criticism of this place is the hours of operation. I can never seem to make it here before they close and they’re not open on Sundays. :(
