The waitresses are awesome. I have had breakfast and lunch here on many occasions. The only thing I would recommend is breakfast.

OB is not the same. Use to be the place to go after the bars closed or if you wanted good diner food. Had been closed for several years and reopened. Must be new owners gave it several try’s but the food is just not good. Cross it off your places too go. Too many other good diners in the area.

Since it reopened, I have gone twice. Both times the food and service were mediocre. Too bad. Many find memories of the old OB Diner.

Only place open late for good food! Great friendly service! It is diner food. Don’t expect chicken Marsala to be Spano’s. Great to have a diner in the area!

I have visited the diner twice since the new renovation and reopening. So far it is much better than it was years ago. The menu is larger and offers a decent selection of choices. I enjoyed my meal and intend to come again in the future. I wish they were 24 hours again, but I think they close around 3 a.m.

This is really just like any old diner. We sat down and then decided to take our food to go because I wasn’t feeling well. They packed up the food no problem but didn’t include any utensils. We got back to the hotel and ended up eating everything with our hands. Wish we had checked before we left.

While on vacation to my home state of NJ, my sons and I stopped in for a late meal after spending the day at Seaside Heights. All 3 meals were outstanding along with delicious chocolate shakes. I have been to the OB many times since the 1960s and found the new establishment to be of very high quality.

I was a fan for their breakfasts when they closed down… Now that the OB is back it is better then ever! My family and I went for breakfast and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and the portion sizes are big… Not good if you are watching calories but delicious none the less. Today we went in for dinner and I was greatly impressed. We all got specials which included soup, salad, and a pudding desert. The veal Marsala that I had was delicious and had plenty of flavor and mushrooms which is always what I am looking for. The veal and pasta was cooked perfectly it melted in my mouth!!! My parents ordered veal franchise and the New Orleans seafood dinners, which were also delicious(I had to taste them as well)!! I know that I have enough left over for lunch tomorrow! I haven’t had the deserts yet but from what I have seen they look good!

A very disappointing experience!!! Hamburger meet seemed like it was leftover and reheated. Onion rings were limp like they were microwaved. Coffee was old and awful. Bathroom wasn’t very clean and the bill which should be about 24 $ in other diners was 30 $ here. On the upside the Pancakes and sweet potato fries were ok and the waitress was nice. Better food choices at Burger King

The OB is back! I grew up with this place, so I was very happy when they re-opened last year. I was a bit nervous going in due to all of the negative Unilocal reviews, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I’m happy to report that my experience was very different than that of other reviewers. I found the food to be quite good, and exactly as I remember it. I had a grilled ham and cheese, and it was excellent. The new owners are very friendly, and they’ve done a good job refurbishing this iconic diner. Can’t wait to come back!

Great jersey shore diner. It’s nothing fancy and nor should it be. Their souvlaki and greek salads are my go-to items. Great breakfast too!

Our first visit since the re-opening. Not much has changed outside. It opened in the winter so hopefully the crumbling concrete will be replaced. The inside looks great, refreshed and clean! I ordered Eggs Benedict and the muffin was black on the underside. The waitress was apologetic and brought me a new muffin. So, for the first outing a rating of 2& ½ Stars!

The owners and staff of the new OB are very, very nice. However, that’s all they have going for them. The food is just sub par. We tried, on two separate occasions, both breakfast and dinner. We wanted to like it, we really did. Everything down to the fries are just not good. I hope they improve!

After a few long years of waiting, my personal favorite diner and local landmark has finally returned, albeit with new owners. But is it the same? When I heard the news about the reopening, I went as soon as I had the time, which happened to be the following Friday night(they opened that Monday). For being ~9PM and having quietly reopened, the place had a good number of customers in it, and they appeared to be fully staffed as well. The décor has been updated to something a little more modern; gone are the pink vinyl seats, wood paneling, and worn tabletops. Unfortunately, they also got rid of the 80’s /90’s «hits» jukeboxes in the booths, something that upset me a bit, even if they usually didn’t work. We were seated promptly, but I don’t think the management communicated too well to the servers — it took a solid ~10 minutes before someone came by to take our drink order, but at least they were apologetic and fairly attentive afterwards. The menu hasn’t changed too much, the greek section still had the pastichio & moussaka, the sauté’ specials were still there, etc. Hungry for a dish of days past, I went for the pastichio, while a friend went for the fish & chips combo. They both came with either soup or salad — I opted for the salad since the soup options were fairly limited at the time. Gone are the days of the awesome greek side salads full of feta and radishes, replaced with a fairly mundane side salad, oh well. The food came out a few minutes afterwards. While the flavor of my pastichio was good, it was a little cold and somewhat dry(needed a bit more bechemel sauce), with the bottom being a tad burnt. Still, not bad for having only been open a week. My friends fish & chips was most certainly of the frozen variety for both the chips and the fish(you’re right by the ocean, guys — get some fresh fish), the onion rings were *way* too breaded, and the side of disco fries were probably the saddest ones I’d ever seen. Seriously guys, I can forgive most other things since you just opened, but disco fries need more than a few tablespoons of bland«out of the jar» gravy and 2 – 3 slices of dried-up American cheese thrown casually on top. They’re supposed to be wet, flavorful, and coated in either cheap canned cheese or preferably, mozzarella. Neither of our meals came with dessert, or if they did, none was offered. No biggie, since I’m usually never hungry enough for dessert anyway. I’m giving the new owners the benefit of the doubt for any of the issues that I had, it’s only been about a week after all. The meals weren’t bad, but weren’t exactly something that’d keep me coming back, either. Me? I’ll probably be back in a month or two to give them another chance — hopefully the cooks will have refined the dishes a bit by then, since my first go-around was a bit on the«meh» side. Either way, best of luck to the new owners, it’s really great to see this landmark return! (Copied from my review of the duplicate entry, «Ocean Bay Diner» on Unilocal, with the incorrect address)

So we went to this new diner not really knowing what to expect. We got to the door and had quite a line going. My expectations were that the food is gonna be good and wow was I right! I ordered the baby back BBQ ribs and even though it was a short wait, the amazing taste of that sauce and the ribs was just simply to die for. Very well prepared. I just dug right into them and picked off every last bit meat. I was impressed to the point where I thought I go for desert, their coconut custard pie was the best I’ve had in a long long time. Also our waiter was super nice and very friendly, even though it was busy as heck, she was cool, calm, and collective. This is definitely a place I’ll be coming back to soon!
