Bracken was unable to figure out what was wrong with my Honda. I then told my brother what was happening, he found out online it was a very common problem in that year Honda, a quick soldering job fixed it. My Brother gets 5 Stars, only 1 for Bracken.

My Miata is 16 years old. So naturally, it started to act like a teenager – making rude noises. Bad noises. Noises that didn’t disappear when I’d say to someone, «Listen to this, this is bad, right?» Maybe it needed a valve adjustment/Maybe it needed a rebuild. With 140,000 miles, anything’s possible. Should I take it to the Mazda dealer? No way. I like their sales people but not their service department. They’d charge me $ 900 and it would still click. I called Cheda’s Garage, where I had been taking the car for normal service, and the great mechanic there told me he didn’t have the tools to do valves on a foreign car, and to take it to Braken’s. I called them, and was told that my Miata had hydraulic valve lifters that didn’t need adjustment, and it was either a blocked oil hose or screen or the oil pump. OK, so they knew what they were talking about and spent the time to explain it to me. I took the car in and left it overnight. Being a convertible, they offered to put it inside overnight(nice!). Today I got it back – all that was needed was a heavier weight of oil 5 – 50 Castrol Syntec, and sure enough, no more clicking. An honest mechanic – knew what was necessary, and did the job as simply and inexpensively as possible. THANKYOU, SEAN!
