I was going to give it two stars, but that means«I’ve experienced better». Well, that is an understatement! So I have to go with«Eek! Methinks not». That is more accurate. I will never patronize these rude people. Unhelpful, couldn’t care less about customer satisfaction, and quite rude.

My husband and I just spent two nights here as part of our honeymoon. We stayed in the Satinwood room on the top floor. We had our own private jacuzzi tub in the room which did a great job on sore muscles from our hike earlier in the day. The owner of the Inn was very nice and knowledgeable. He recommended where to eat dinner and also which hikes to go on in the area. The breakfast in the morning wasn’t anything spectacular but it was good! I enjoyed the fresh fruit with yogurt and organic granola. Also the yummy hard boiled eggs. I would love to go back and spend a few more nights.

My SO and I stayed here overnight in the Eastlake Room recently. It was our first trip to the Point Reyes area, so we weren’t entirely sure what to expect from the lodging, but overall I was pleasantly surprised. The Point Reyes Station Inn is CLEAN, spacious and, in my opinion, a wonderful value. That said, it has a few quirks, but like the Millennium Falcon, «she’s got it where it counts». Think of staying here as you would staying in the home of distant but friendly(if slightly eccentric) relatives and everything will make sense. :) Ralph, the owner(and apparently the original builder of the inn) was super friendly and welcoming and gave us a map of the area. He suggested some nice local hikes, which we appreciated tremendously. Very nice, down-to-earth guy. Our room was upstairs and had its own private bathroom with(large) shower stall. No complaints there. There’s at least one room downstairs where you have to actually leave the room to go to the toilet across the hall, so if that weirds you out, be very careful what room you choose. The little balcony overlooking the courtyard was probably my favorite part of the room — it was lovely being able to go hang out there while the sun was setting. The furnishings were older but, again, very clean. Wifi worked great, which was a nice touch as there was basically no cell signal in the area otherwise. The bed was pretty but WAY too soft; I(and my back) prefer a firm mattress, but it seems unfair for me to take off points for that as I know some people love beds that feel like marshmallows. The«great room» and hall downstairs(where breakfast is served) were comfortable and homey, and the little finches in the cage by the stairs were adorable. :) They did not make a single peep at night when the cage was covered, so unless you have some sort of terrible bird allergy or phobia, they shouldn’t bother you at all. I found them delightful. Breakfast was basic(think more«camping» than«fancy restaurant») but there was a good variety of different things, from cereal to hard-boiled eggs to fresh fruit, and the coffee was A-OK. I did not smell any smoke at any time(this was something I’d been worried about, as cigarette smoke gives me bad headaches). The only reason I’m giving 4 stars rather than 5 is because it does seem the place could use a few simple repairs. Screens on the windows were ripped and partially disintegrating due to age/sun exposure, and there was no air conditioning, so I felt like we were stuck choosing between«overheat the room» or «let bugs in». The ceiling fan was a bit wobbly and noisy. Those are pretty minor things, but fixing them would make a huge difference, and I’d be happy to give 5 stars if I went back and found that these repairs had been made.

Stayed in the hotel(cheapest room – the Sunroom) for the weekend. The room was large, I had my own private bathroom, and I had a private patio out back(right by where the pony and some sheep were corralled, which was fun!). Breakfast wasn’t extravagant but it was very good and filled me up all day. You can eat on the patio out back or in a very cute dining room. The room was beautiful and it wasn’t right next to any others, so I didn’t hear any of the other guests and I didn’t have to be quiet. The manager was very nice and incredibly helpful. If you have a chance to talk to him, I recommend it, he’s fascinating and he’s got some wild stories. He knows all about Point Reyes so ask him to recommend any activities! This inn was perfect and I could’ve happily spent my whole vacation just spending time indoors :)

I ordered oysters and a small chef salad, the grand total was $ 35. You can get a delicious combo salad at Swan’s on Polk/California for $ 23. What’s up with this! The burgers are good, but the prices need an adjustment.

My experiences have always been positive here. Fresh food, lovely garden in back. The hotel I“ve not experienced. But they grow a lot of their own veggies. Definitely plan ahead if you wish to stay overnight. Enjoy a leisurely stroll in this quaint town.

I don’t know how you can call this a Bed & Breakfast besides the fact that there are beds and they provide a(measly) breakfast. It’s more like a hotel because the breakfast they provide is a continental breakfast with mini BOX cereal. Might as well be staying at the Holiday Inn. A Bed & Breakfast should include a nicely, home cooked breakfast and actually have service. And the bed wasn’t even that great. It had holes in the sheets! The service here also lacked to say the least. The only employee(the owner) didn’t show us around and told us if we needed anything that we could find him at the local bar — are you kidding me? What a bust! I highly encourage the management to step it up and actually provide a hosting atmosphere. Maybe take some tips from REAL Bed & Breakfasts’. For the money you will probably spend here, you might as well go to a place that has actual hospitality and puts you up in real style. The pictures they provide are misleading. For the same amount of money but 5 star service visit Calistoga, CA and go to Château de Vie. They are what a Bed & Breakfast experience should be like. If you are coming to Point Reyes do yourself a favor and stay at the Point Reyes Seashore Lodge. Much nicer and actually includes service.

The staff were very friendly. Location is right off highway so there is some traffic noise. Loved the deep jetted tub and the heated floors. Not so much the dust or the small uncomfortable bed. My boyfriend became congested through the night and we discovered the source in the morning, dust coating several windows. We stayed on second floor and recommend the balcony or window seat rooms. Worth the extra $$ to have the extra square footage and the jetted tub when you are there for a romantic weekend.

I was there on Sunday & sat outside. I kept thinking ‘wow the sea air smells funny here’. Soon the people next to us moved because of the smell. I asked my boyfriend what they were talking about & he told me not to worry about it. He knew I’d cause a scene. Turns out it was their septic tank out in the garden.

Pulled into town late and was still able to get a room for us and the dog. We had a bigger back yard for Kona then she has at home. The compleimentary breakfast was ok, could of had more options but we will take anything wasy when traveling with a baby and dog. I would stay here again if we ever pass through.

3.7STARS. Beautiful b&b with a cottage feel. DOGFRIENDLY! It’s literally a home. A 5-bedroom home with a large living room and kitchen. Each room is rented as a «hotel room,» so when you exit your room, you’re in a hallway or the living room. It’s weird because I am so used to staying at regular hotels with a lobby far away, that renting out a bedroom in a house was a weird concept to me. Definitely less privacy because the walls are thinner and the rooms are in close proximity to each other. However, on the plus side, the home is extremeley cozy and charming! The innkeepers do a fantastic job at keeping the house clean and well-maintained. There is a wonderful fireplace that is always lit, and keeps the living room so warm! The downstairs has 2 rooms, and these rooms are the only 2 dog-friendly rooms. These rooms are connected to the living room. The Garden Room has its own full bathroom, whereas the Sun Room has a toilet that is outside the bedroom. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms — these are very big and like honeymoon suites. My complaint is that the room amenities are definitely old. The bed comforters/blankets are old and I felt a bit hesitant to use them. Further, the TV is so tiny. It must be 12 inches. I think that there are some upgrades that the innkeepers could do that are not very expensive and would enhance the rooms a lot. The house has a beautiful outdoor patio area that gets great sunlight for those who want to read a book or eat outside. The continental breakfast is yummy! Fresh eggs from the innkeepers’ chickens, a variety of cereal, homemade granola, and different pastries. Definitely not a 5-star meal with a private chef, but who needs that when you’re surrounded by nature?! The location is very close to the main downtown strip(literally a street), but no one really walks in the area, so you’re best to drive there. It’s about a 2 minute drive.

Just had a beautiful weekend in Pt Reyes with my beau, and stayed here in the«Sun Room.» It was a nice room, though the bathroom left something to be desired(teeny shower in our room, toliet across the hall which means no quick pottie trips in the middle of the night if you sleep naked). The innkeeper was very nice and knowledgeable without being intrusive. PROS: The Price & Availability Easy, close to town, and not too pretentious or controlling, like some B&Bs Comfortable beds and linens CONS: Hot tub was super chemically and left us feeling slick getting out Continental breakfast — well, what do you expect, its a continental breakfast If I come here again, I’d probably splurge for one of the nicer rooms with its own bathroom and jacuzzi tub — that would have made all the difference. And just count on eating out for breakfast.

If I could give this inn 0 stars, I would. The staff is not helpful at all. While I was making inquires about the space they were unwilling to help me and did not answer my questions. Take your business elsewhere.

My dad and I happened upon this inn quite late without a reservation. We really would have been happy with anything by that point(all other options in the town were out) so staying here was a luxury. Ralph, the proprietor, is a very pleasant man. The room was lovely. The continental breakfast was great. The whole vibe of the inn was refreshing.

Lovely little place just around the corner from the main strip of Point Reyes Station«downtown.» Hidden around the bend with a gravel parking lot and several cute little rooms. The Victorian room was equipt with a queen bed, gas fireplace, spa and balcony. Great lighting, lots of windows, skylights and vaulted ceilings and ceiling fan, but it was a lot of work to shut all the blinds at night. The fireplace and spa are useful even in the summer because when the fog rolls in, it can still get cool. The private spa was nice for a bubble bath, and there is a public hot tub in the gardens below. Unfortunately the shower/toilet seperation was a flimsy door. Too bad they didn’t spring for something more classy to fit the rest of the room. The bed must have been from the victorian ages bec ause it was so noisy. The mattress was comfy but any slight movement would cause lots of squeaking, enough to wake you up if you were just rolling over. The high bed make it difficult to get in and out of. The water was unfortunately not very hot out of the tap(sink, shower and spa included.) It took quite a while just to get warm water flowing. Luckily the summer isn’t too cold. The breakfast was very complete with cereal, a bowl of fruit to select, coffees and teas, muffins and bagels and boiled eggs. The also allowo use of the fridge It was surprising to see large dogs roaming the downstairs. It caught me off guard. Definitely pet friendly. There’s a cage of finches downstairs and a black kitty that roams outside. Its somewhat close to restaurants, gas and the lighthouse.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February 2007. This Inn served continental style breakfast and had water for coffee and tea around the clock, but did not serve food as a previous poster asserted. This Inn did(and does), however, allow dogs. This can sometimes be difficult for us… even with dog friendly establisments — many of which have size/weight restrictions or restrictions for number of dogs. The Point Reyes Station Inn not only allowed us and our 3 dogs(ranging in size from German Shepherd to Cattle dog), they did so without additional fees for the doggies! How cool! We stayed in the«Garden» room. Sizable garden area for the dogs to do their business with gated direct access to parking lot.(This allows dog direct entry to the room without going through the Inn common areas.) The room itself was adequate, but a little small considering we were sharing the space with 3 dogs! The tv was small… the only other real downers were… The bathroom light fixture was LOUD! And… the bed was very noisy(yes…even without hanky-panky) — just turning over created a decibel level unfit for snoozing. Those minor things aside, the Inn was a very enjoyable stay for us. Close to «town»(the 3 block long shopping/restaurant area that is the commercial hub of Point Reyes Station) the Inn was easy to get to, comfy and the Innkeepers were quite nice. As a lifelong resident of the Bay Area(born in Berkeley, raised in Oakland) I’m surprised on a trip like this just how much there is to see so close to home. Even in the rain and fog, we had a great time visiting this area and in particular, enjoyed our trip to the Point Reyes Lighthouse. The Point Reyes Station Inn was our home for a couple of days and we look forward to exploring this area of our backyard again soon. When we do… look for us… and the dogs… at the Point Reyes Station Inn.
