Just about halfway between Orlando and Tampa, quite convenient. Pulled in Saturday morning, it was loaded with trucks even on entry ramp. Big car-side parking lot, Sunpass dispenser and ATM here. Plenty of vending machine munchies. Clean and well-kept grounds with a picnic area away from main parking lot, you could sleep here day or night. The US27 junction is just a few miles west.

I have the bladder of a 2 year old. When I saw this stop I immediately parked and visited the mens room. This rest stop is not as nicer as most of the ones I have visited but it was pretty clean. I have to give credit to the State of Florida for keeping it clean

My companion and I were on our way to visit relatives and I am so glad we stopped here. If you need to rejuvenate yourself then I suggest you stop here to walk around and stretch out your legs and get a breath of fresh air. We were on our way to Mount Dora and the second trip was planned out perfectly. There is something about rest areas I don’t like. If it was night time that’s a whole different topic. This rest area has good vending machines and drink choices but I stuck with my usual Doritos. The bathrooms did need a little bit of sprucing up but it wasn’t near anything as bad as what I have seen before. They have hooks on the inside of the bathroom stalls where you can hang up your purse or jacket which you don’t see often at rest areas. You can buy your Sun Pass in the vending machine which is pretty cool for people who are going on a quick trip. You don’t have to pay for tolls which is a common thing here in Florida.

It was not a proud moment when I was named the duke of the Mile Marker 47 Rest Area. My reign as duke has since ended and I’m ok with that. This is a place you don’t really want to stop at but it’s just too convenient when you’re on your way to some Orlando theme parks. The bathrooms are pretty well maintained but they look like something out of a prison movie. The sinks are those awful metallic ones with the tiny buttons for water where the water is shut off 2 milliseconds after you release it. They have nighttime security and there are a lot of vending machines. Don’t be freaked out by the signs warning about snakes. This isn’t an epicenter of reptile activity. This is Florida and you’re going to have creepy crawlies in the woods. It’s just letting people know that.

Sometimes, nature calls. You can’t help it, but amid the 80 mile an hour traffic, you have to stop. This rest area is neat, it’s clean and well stocked. The machines accept cash or credit and are in good working order. They have plenty of picnic space as well as a dog walk area. Be aware, this is Florida, so there are wild animals and of course snakes. So. keep your eyes open.

I am just happy this rest stop exists. Even if it does have poisonous snakes. Lots of vending machines with ice cream, chips, and other crap(why not fruit in the machines people?) and even sun pass. There is ample space to walk around and sit if you like.

One of the visually cleaner rest rooms I’ve encountered on the interstate rest areas, though it certainly has a rank odor. But it is more likely due to time of day/temperature as their is no AC within the facilities, or none that could be felt. Good spot to stop driving from Tampa area to Orlando, before hitting the inevitable Orlando I-4 traffic. Lots of grass and park areas. Plenty of parking spaces as well.

Its a rest area… always a plus when its clean, stocked and you feel safe stopping. It is conveniently located of I-4 West bound. If necessary, I stop here on my way to Tampa or Fort Myers. So far, I don’t have any complaints.

Great little rest stop on the way to Disney World or Orlando from Tampa. The bathrooms are kept clean as best as possible and they have a large area where you can walk your pets. They also have a ton of vending machines where you can pay via cash, credit card, or sun pass.

My coworkers frequently insist on stopping here on the way back to Orlando from Tampa. It’s a short drive, if they were my kids I would tell them to hold it. Alas, we are forced to make a pit stop. This rest stop seems very clean. My only concern is with the numerous signs reminding you to watch out for venomous snakes. Seriously. I never get out of the car. I’m used to gators and every kind of bug imaginable, but I have a little Indiana Jones moment every time we pull in here. I don’t like snakes. I have never seen a snake here, but the signs suggest I might, so three stars for pure creepiness.

My wife was really angry about me checking into to a rest area, but I felt it was on obligation. Everything was clean for a rest stop on Memorial day weekend. I felt safe, secure and it was clean.

You might think I’m crazy to review a rest area, but then again you might think I’m crazy for making it a Unilocal page in the first place! This is a very clean and dare I say classy rest area. Very nice and well lit. Lots of vending machines. Really clean bathrooms. And there was a very friendly cat who was here on both times I visited this place(there was easily a 3 month gap in between my visits. I think it’s safe to say that he lives here) who ran right up to me and was more than happy to eat some of my Frito’s on one visit and to eat his very own bag of chips on my next visit. I definitely say if you have to go to the bathroom or just stretch your legs, and you are going to pass this facility, hold it until you get to this rest area at mile marker 47. The fact that other people have checked in here and taken pictures of it(and I mean«other people» as in people other than myself who are crazy enough to Unilocal about a rest area) should say something.
