China flat campground is one of my favorite places to camp. It’s small and quiet and thats just the way I like it. If you want to be a hooligan this place is not for you. Try Ice House Reservoir. The reason this cg stays quiet and isn’t busy is because most people make use of the free camping(dispersed camping) in the national forest all around the area. I camp there in a popup and sometimes have a bit of a hard time getting into some of the spots. It’s not designed for rv’s, but there are some spots that accomodate. The cg is very close to the Silver fork of the American river. The fishing is usually good for rainbow trout.

This little gem of a campground is nestled in 32.5 miles east of Placerville on Highway 50 and 4.5 miles southeast of kyburz on the south fork of the American River. Apparently Chinese railroad workers use to camp here back in the gold rush days. So It was appropriate for me to pay homage to this place. haha We got a pretty sweet camp ground location right next to the water. If you ever camp here get spots 17 and 18. The prices are reasonable and there’s a store close by just in case you forgot condoms haha I mean condiments haha get your mind out of the gutter. Back to nature talk, anyhow it’s like 18 bucks a night and bring hella insect repellant otherwise you will be sorry. Overall fun place to camp and real close to sac.
