WOW! — This is a seaside oasis in the Connecticut’s «Quiet Corner.» If you are going between Hartford and Providence, plan to park and savor in Pomfret.

What an amazing little gem Rosie’s is! I stopped on my way by and never knew it was here, and stopping was the best thin egg I could have done! I had the crab cake sandwich and it was on point! The coleslaw is AMAZING and the strawberry lemonade is equal parts refreshing and delicious! The décor is super cute, the staff are friendly, and the menu is affordable! I’ll be back for sure!

I love this place. Great clam shack. As good as any down by the beaches. Clean and pleasant. Nice staff.

Excellent home made onion rings. Red and white chowder were very good. A unique flavor/spice used? Really like the clam cakes. Everything seems fresh. Tastey and fairly priced. Window service friendly. Have eaten here a couple of times. I recommend!

The fish and chips I enjoyed were excellent. The lemonade was also very good, as they don’t put offensive amounts of sugar. Someone does need to fix the poor grammar and typos on their literature though.

Excellent fish tacos! They have a great selection of classic dairy stand food — but also have some great specials. My husband had regular cheeseburger and said it was ok. Didn’t have to much flavor. I had fish tacos which were awesome and you don’t see that on to many menus around the area. we also tried to chowder which looked homemade but could have used Alittle more seasoning and onion rings which were ok little less salt though. Our son had grilled cheese which– I know it’s a simple sandwich but it was great! So they have some hits and misses. Atmosphere is perfect! And loved all the extras. Like the game board wagon and bubbles for kids. Will definitely be back!

Star rating necessary: Atmosphere 4 stars(it’s an outdoor diner — met all expectations) Timeframe 2 stars(slow for 0 customers) Customer service 1 star(no hello, and actually yelled my # for my food — no customers) walk that shit out! Exercise a bit Food 2.5 stars(a bit overcooked, and had a dirty grease smell) Only take credit cards for 10.00 dollar or more. 90% of meals less than 9. Hmm. So credit cards if it’s two or more people. OK Crispy chicken wrap — not bad to taste, nice sauce flavoring– helped kill the greasy spoon smell, came with fries. Lettuce was not up to par, and tomatoes a bit mushy. Now remember I didn’t expect 5star dining but fresh food is important to me! Wish I had tried the icecream. Sounded delicious. Maybe if I pass by I will check out dairy products, but I probably wouldn’t suggest eating a real meal!

Love this place!!! Relaxed atmosphere where you can sit and enjoy dinner and is also pet friendly ! Our dog was stung by s bee on his mouth and the owners gave him a bowl of ice cream to make him more comfortable. Great customer service… But most important great food!!!

Burgers and shakes are great but last season’s handcut fries were better than the frozen ones this season.

Used to love this place for their hand cut fries. They’re still advertising that they have them but they’re serving frozen Now there’s nothing that makes this place stand out from others in the area so we won’t be heading back as often.

This place is DECEIVING I ordered 12 clam cakes. I received them hot BUT No clams in first 6. I got salty bread balls and the worst thing is I called them to have their cook tell me she personally made them and couldn’t explain it. I can tell you what happened she didn’t put clams and once I called she corrected her bone head move so others wouldn’t complain I got mine Togo and noticed 20 miles away that all I got was oily salty bread balls and they were over fried. If I can add pictures I will. They should be embarrassed at their cook and especially for not correcting this. They never offered to correct it. NEVERGOINGHEREAGAIN!!! They got one star cause the girl who took my order was nice to me. I called and gave them a chance to correct It and they denied it. They have to train their workers especially their cook how to deal with a complaint which is so Noticeable. The response was disappointing and their product. Well go somewhere else. This was not good at all.

Rosie’s is fast becoming one of my favorite gems in Pomfret. Their food is always fresh and cooked to order and tastes absolutely amazing. I recently had the fish tacos there and I can’t say enough good things about them. I’ve had their burgers and sandwiches as well which are equally awesome. I would always recommend any one stop here if they’re in the area!

First off they offer Gluten free… which if you have a young child that only wants to have ‘normal food’ without excruciating pain from gluten is fabulous. It’s an old fashioned style walk up and order type joint… of course you are gonna wait… but it’s worth it. It’s a dinner. not a five star crumbs off the table type joint… and has yummie big olé burgers with great down home atmosphere. Dogs are worth it. sides are great. Prices are right on… stop wishing for McDs dollar burger for a 10 $ worth. Wanna be cheap go to BK. Wanna have a good roadside burger with grease and goodness go to Rosies… sit… relax… play games. and just enjoy what use to be slow life. Good food. slow down… enjoy.

Stopped here on way back from the Cape. Good selection of food and ice cream. Ordered the tuna melt, hot dog, veggie burger and mushroom swiss burger. Everything was exceptional. Also got the fresh strawberry lemonade which was really good with fresh strawberries. The other reviews are correct as far as not having a public bathroom, there is a port a potty in the parking lot which was clean but it’s still a port a potty. We had a dog with us as well and with no dog friendly restaurants nearby it was a welcome find. The food here is good, didn’t take too long(10 min) and place is clean. Definitely stop if in area.

So amazing! Hand-cut fries you don’t want to stop eating. Hotdog excellent. Pulled pork is awesome! Too stuffed to try the ice cream but I know I will be back for sure. Thanks for opening!

Not even worth 1 star. Ordered a fish sandwich was over cooked and old fish. Price was high also over 8.00 and the fish was small. Ordered a hotdog looked real good nice grilled marks on it… The hotdog was barely warm and was all beef. If I had know they were all beef I would have never ordered it. as I waited for my order that was slow and no one in front of me… A man wanted ice cream he asked thru the window for help 3 or 4 times knock on the counter 3 times it was almost 5 min before he got help and he was the only one waiting… Don’t think I will be back and I will tell everyone I know not to bother

Delicious! The new owner of this drive-in has done an outstanding job of bringing quality food and a quaint, homey atmosphere here. Our family of six enjoyed yummy hand battered onion rings, fried shrimp, fresh chicken fingers, clam strips and fresh cut fries. Surprisingly, even the salad was really fresh and delicious. So excited that we have a new, good quality place to eat out in Pomfret!

Got a fish sandwich and clam cakes with chowder here a couple times, the food was good both times. Fried pickles are a cool menu item that’s also yummy

Loved it! Lobster roll was great. Well maintained outdoor summer eatery. We will no doubt be back many times. The French fries were excellent. The highlight for me was the half and half(lemonade and iced tea) drink. It was refreshing, tasted like fresh squeezed lemonade! Staff were very friendly and helpful!

My son an I stopped by on our way home as we were super hungry. Foo was made to order, very friendly staff and clean eating area. Prices were decent and a variety of food. My son loved his cheese burger and I so loved my clam cakes and white chowder. Since they just opened my son was pleasantly surprised with a free banana split as the lady at the counter said smiling«We are practicing». Loved it and will definitely come back and tell friends an family
