We went to this place decades ago when it was Mingos. We decided to see how the new owners menu was in comparison to other places we’ve been trying in the area. We were craving menudo, but found out they only serve it on the weekends. We were disappointed. The waiter was quick to tell us they had more options. The pozole, and cocido were on the list. So, we stayed! First of all, the corn tortillas were handmade and very tasty. The guacamole was delish. Everything was perfect. The portions were large and the price very reasonable. Our waiter was super friendly and quick to serve our every need. I give him a 10 for hospitality! We are definitely going back. I hope all the servers are as attentive as our waiter was today. He made us feel right at home.

Love the food. The owner are nice and make you feel welcome. The owner when he cook he hook it up. Make you feel like when your mom make you a place of food she hook you up that how the owner does.

My husband just had lunch there and called me to tell me what a bad experience he had with their customer service. His plate wasn’t all that great either he stated. Oh well. they lost one customer. First and last time! Boo!!!

I’ve had to change my review rating. The food is great, but the service is now very poor. Long wait times for basic needs like what to drink. Long time to wait for your chips n salsa, I either get the salsa but no chips, or vice versa. I finish my coffee and the waitress doesn’t acknowledge it unless you call her out. Management 101 is not being followed. I feel that management was not well trained for increase business and as a result is causing a regular customer like my wife and I to not want to come back.

The birria, handmade tortilla and orange juice were great. The menudo was okay. Service was VERY slow, we sat for at least 15min before we were asked what we would like to drink.

Very good! Hidden gem! I got the 3 taquitos plate. Came with rice and beans. $ 6.50. Taquitos came out hot. meat wasn’t dry. rice and beans were tasty. salsa was good, if you like hot.

First time here and I must say I will return, nice and clean, A+ Customer service, friendly staff which many restaurants lack. My daughter had Pollo asado, and I had Enchiladas w/onion and cheese, my coke and coffee. Very pleasant experience with staff, we felt at home. Ooh, Ooh, must try gelatina-jello…see pics.

Went in the place was clean and the staff was very nice. I can’t comment on the food cause i did not try it. What i did try was a liquado, which was very good and the serving size was made for like two people lol. I recommend their liquados and also their natural juices they are GREAT!

Definitely not impressed. We walked in and had trouble finding a clean table. We should have walked out when we saw flies flying around the restaurant. We decided to give this place a chance. We ordered drinks and our server arrived with warm sodas in cans. We then ordered. Food took forever to be brought out. Our chips were never refilled. The server was on the phone the whole time we were there. The cameron al mojo de ajo was good and so were the taquitos. Our burritos were BAD! The chicken was flavorless and tough. Bottom line, I would not recommend this place and will not be returning.

I was in the area & craving some OG Mexican breakfast. I had found another Mexican restaurant on here & was on my way to that restaurant when I passed the very colorful El Cantarito. The vibrant yellow color caught my attention so, I made a U turn to check it out. They have listed fresh jugos(juices) & Birria which is as OG as it gets. I ended up calling my friend to cancel the original meeting places. I am so glad I went with my growling gut instinct because not only is the place clean, the service very friendly, but Oooooohhh sweet baby, Jesus!!! The food is AMAZING !! Everything is so tasty from the salsa to the freshly made tortillas ! My food was so delish that I felt like licking the plate ! Lol the food is reasonably priced. So, if you’re looking for a place that reminds u of abuelita’s food, this is the place! Btw, I also had their«vampiro» drink which was out of this world! Make sure to ask them about their other restaurant. It’s Oaxacan style. Kudos to them!:)

Took a chance based on the first review. Ordered the chicken flauta combo. I don’t usually start with the rice and beans but they looked so good I had too. Best part was they tasted awesome. I’m serious, excellent rice and beans. The flautas are deep fried flour tortilla rolls with meat inside. I have my favorite benchmark in Huntington Beach to rate these against. They came up very good but the chicken was just a tad dry so not perfect. But the crispy crunch and home made guacamole was very tasty. They also make fresh blended fruit smoothies. I had the OJ, strawberry and banana and loved it. I believe they’re striving to use the freshest ingredients. You can see it in the food. Great find!

Wow what a pleasant surprise. I was getting my car worked on down the street and needed to kill some time. Excellent staff and the food was great. Good prices too. I’ll be back for sure.
