I have to do some work here from time to time as a play by play broadcaster, but this review is completely impartial. Kellogg Arena(formerly Kellogg Gym) is the home of the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos basketball teams. This past offseason they added a brand new 10’x16’ video board to the north wall of the gym, and the facility has always been pretty advanced, particularly for a D-II school. The seating capacity is higher than most D-II institutions, and they have a side with grandstand seats for older folks and a side with bench seating for the students, who really do get rowdy and into the games. My only complaint is the temperature. The air flow inside the gym is not very strong and it often heats up over 80 degrees. The great and friendly staff usually brings out massive 3′ fans to try to blast air around, but that only goes so far. Check it out if you’re in the area — it’s a fun experience and makes you feel a bit younger again.
