Music Tree

I was looking for a place to take my six year old daughter to learn piano. I am so happy I found Music Tree! My daughter looks forward to her class because she gets the one on one attention, which has helped a lot with her confidence. Monica, the instructor is patient, loving and uses positive reinforcement to teach. Her sincere love for music and children shows in how she teaches my daughter. I am very confident that my daughter will grow in knowledge and love of music! Also, the rates are reasonable, flexible class schedules and parking is close to the studio!

I’ve been taking guitar lessons here with Mr. Juan for about 6 months now. I also attend the Guitar Ensemble class held once a week.
I started here with some experience playing the guitar, but no knowledge of music. I was completely clueless to what time signatures were, what a fermata was, or what the differences between tempo and rhythm were. I didn’t know the name of the notes, or where to find them on the fret-​board. I didn’t know anything about major and minor keys. I didn’t know… anything, really.
Now, I can actually read music! I remember looking at music notation and thinking it looked like a bunch of beautiful jargon — symbols and markings that were too foreign to understand. Now I can look at it, make sense of it, and know that with some practice, I can translate those symbols into sound with the guitar — its amazing!
And I owe it to the excellent instruction of Mr. Juan and of course Ms. Monica and Mr. Michael for their insights into Music Theory. Every teacher here is incredible and more than willing to drop some knowledge. You really get the sense that they love what they do and are only trying to help you reach your musical potential.
Oh, and there are performances and recitals often! The next one will be the Winter Recital in which I will be playing a classical piece :)
