The best Oktoberfest in the Hudson Valley END OF STORY… Forget the others…$ 50 All you can eat and drink. GREAT WILDERNESS ATMOSPHERE. Lots of activities available for all ages. Swimming pool, tennis, mini golf, volleyball, bocci, shuffleboard, mini golf, horseshoes, basketball… etc.
I’ve been coming to the Platzl for 25 years for dozens of different funtions… same family run business. Well manicured grounds. Lots and lots of good food. Always a strong variety of Beers from Germany as well as domestics and microbrews.
During the rest of the year, parties are held inside as well. When you have a resturant business this large (can host parties as large as 2000+) but usually specialises in group BBQ’S of 50 to 200 people in their own private outdoor pavilion… you are not going to please everyone. …and in my opinion the only reason why this place is not rated 4.5 to 5 stars is because not enough happy customers leave reviews, and some of the weakest complaining people do.

You do get alot of food but the service is horrible. One of our table is half full. this waiter brings the mustard and say «put the mustard in the middle of the table»…1. That’s not my job, 2. We paid, so that’s your job 3. He should at least ask nicely. 4. The other half of the table is empty, he can walk one more step and place it down himself.
Then, anotherl] waiter knocks my head with the dessert plate. I understand accidents happen but not even an apology and walks away. Seriously?
Finally, there were sandwiches to go… one of the waiter sees that our group of seniors are frail so she informed me that I can pick up all the sandwiches for them. I go pick it up and the person cutting the turkey/​ham flips out because I said I am picking it up for our seniors. Then have an attitude with asking for a empty plate to stack up the sandwich so I can take it all at once and not block the line behind or have to go back again.
Will not return with our seniors again!!!

Platzl is a local venue so close to home we could not pass up their final event the Lobster and Steak bake with a live reggae band. The food is great, service at the bar is excellent. Every year we make it a point to enjoy the lobster bake!

Ugh. $ 45/​per person for all you can eat/​drink? Yes.
Due to rain, there were no lines for beer or food?! I got totally smashed at this Oktoberfest event.
No joke, they have 10 different beer steins you can buy to use ($ 8 — $ 15).
They have every German food option and American fare for you to get fat on.
They have basketball, volleyball, and bocce courts to get your drunk exercise on.
For y’all chicks, they have wine this year.
Drinking and eating for 6 hours is mad fun.

We went to Oktoberfest here a couple of weeks ago. It was a good time!
At first the $ 45 admission fee seemed steep; however, you really get a lot for your money, especially compared to how much you pay for the same things up in Bear Mountain.
Food was good! Bratwurst, knockwurst, and sauerbraten, oh my! They also offered some American food as well, including hamburgers, hot dogs, and french fries.
They offer about 6 or so different beers, and once again– this is all included in the price.
The atmosphere is good. It’s a mix of different people from families with children, to young people boozing it up, and senior citizens. Plenty of tables to sit down.
Overall it was a very good experience, and I recommend it if you are in the area.

This place is getting 3 stars only because of the beautiful Christmas decorations in every nook and corner of the facility.
The service and servers are great. As for the food, it leaves much to be desired and for that reason could not give it any more stars. The salmon is served plain and dry, and could use a splash of dill sauce or something similar. The ham was thin sliced and dry. Nobody ordered the other offering since we’ve been there before and found that also dry.
The management tries hard, but they really need to upgrade their product to encourage return guests.
