Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare

Rob Zombie’s epic failure of a Haunted House, AND IT SHOW’S!
First off you gotta drive out to Pomona which sucks. Once you get there it wasn’t clear where it was, a let a sign saying over here would be a huge help. If you managed to find the entrance then you drive thru parking lot clueless to where your going. Again NO SIGN, not even from God to guide you.
The haunted houses or mazes just sucked. Nothing worth driving an hour for in my book. One was a joke in which you went through a maze with a black hood over your head so you were in the dark alll through the maze. Second maze was in 3D which was nothing like the Universal Zombie House (FAILURE) and the last maze it was so bad I forgot what it was all about. As you can see it sucked.
This was a poor attempt to capitalize of the ROB ZOMBIE name! I bought VIP pass’s which were worthless cause nobody was there to cut in front of and very disorganized.
The lesson learned is stay aways from ROB ZOMBIE haunted anything.

Complete waste of time and money. Do not waste your time. Do not waste your money. I spent $ 36+$ 3 for processing. So $ 39 for a VIP 1 package. I am grateful I spent the extra money so I didn’t have to wait 4 hours in the general admission line and be even more pissed that I went to this horrible not scary «haunted» attraction.
The first maze was just a long zig zag hallway of darkness. It would be scary if there was room in between each group of people but we stopped several times because there were so many people waiting in the lines that form outside the first maze and waiting to get in the second maze that the first maze itself became a line of waiting.
The second maze is this 3D cartoon maze where a few actors dry hump the wall. Seriously not scary and I wasn’t even amused. I thought we were here to be scared? I’m not.
The third maze was more just walking through room scenes of various killers. Nothing scary at all. Seriously. Actors did a piss poor performance. The scenes in each room were just that… scenes. Actors did not really engage with audience.
Other than the wait that EVERYONE deals with no matter VIP status, it’s not scary. I would say the scariest thing from the night was the lines of waiting. Oh and me. I was scary pissed off for WASTING $ 39 for the ticket, gas money, and my TIME.
Do not be fooled by the fact that Rob Zombie’s name is attached to this thing. This is a pathetic attempt at a haunted attraction.
Rob Zombie… I want my money back.

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! Went to the one in Villa Park, IL this past weekend and purchased VIP2 passes for $ 50. After seeing the long line to get in I was excited and happy to go straight to the front and start our haunting adventure. Little did I know that there were more lines up ahead and because they clipped off our VIP2 wristbands at the first line we were treated like general admission for the remaining lines.
But what was worse about the whole thing was that we were in a line the WHOLE TIME! There was so many people there that the houses (and the lines to get into each one) kept getting backed up. So basically I felt like herded cattle getting pushed through the house and then into a line for the next house. Of course how scary can a haunted house get when the actors try to scare the group ahead of you and you’re already there watching it? It’s pointless for them to try to scare you so they don’t and you just keep walking on through.
The first house is a blackout maze of walls. Scary idea, but not when they only stock it with three actors along the way. So basically I walked in the dark for 8 minutes. I could have just shut off the lights in my house, turned on scary music and walked around!
The second house was 3-​D glow-​in-​the-​dark so you have to wear the glasses. It started out like a funhouse which was cool, but then we were accompanied by freaky figures who proved to be there only to keep us moving forward and through the house.
Finally, the last house had the most theatrics. It was more a museum of Rob Zombie’s set designs than anything else. And once again we were filing through it with so many other people so there really was no fear about what lies ahead.
Go if you want to be in one long continuous line for an hour (or more!) and if that’s the kind of thing that scares you. But spending money for time wasted scares me more, so next time I’ll save myself $ 50.

Rob Zombie Concert– AWESOME– for an old guy, he still kicks ass.
The Haunted Houses– awful and not scary. I was greatly shocked by how disappointing it was. I’m convinced Rob Zombie himself did not oversee all the details, I’m sure he wouldn’t have approved.
1-​star for poorly done haunted houses. (Except the 3D room with spinning hall way– coolest part!)

I really really was hoping for more… This was a massive build up to a total let down IMHO
You are allowed only 1 trip through the mazes… Ok that is understandable. However, you are not told aforehand that the mazes are stacked end to end. I would have been really pissed off if I had paid for this kind of event. Literally everything is over in about 20 minutes from when you get there.
Thanks to Unilocal I got to go at no cost, but this event still sucked azz.
They had some roaming «monsters» a la Knotts Scary Farm. That at least had the potential for some entertainment, however there were only a few monsters roaming around and they were not quick thinking. I had them mentally running in circles as they tried to come back to my disses after dissing me. The only kewl part was the magician who had some fun tricks and a great attitude while wandering around here.
They had a small series of about 5 booths with stuff you could purchase. Normally arent there some alot more than 5 vendors at an event like this?
Overall I just found it rather disappointing and wont go back for another of their events. The worst part was thinking that it would be a full night of fun and it literally turned into hardly any time at all taken up. =\

I am literally the last person you would think would go to a Rob Zombie concert but I had a pretty good time. My best friend is a huge fan of his and she had an extra ticket so I went. I’m glad I did actually. At first I was paranoid about someone scary breathing down my neck which I saw them do to others. Luckily they didn’t to me!
We found the line to the haunted house which was wrapped around the whole place and started in the concert area. The line took FOREVER!!! But there were some awesome people in line which totally entertained my friend and I.
We finally got to the entrance of the haunted house and they stuck black bags over our heads. Completely freaking me out! So I chickened out and took it off. I know! I’m a wimp. The next house was a 3D, neon, and x-​rated. This one was my favorite because it wasn’t scary and was actually really funny. The last house was very well done. Every room had lots of moving and stationary props. You get the feeling like you just walked into a mass murder and the guy who killed everyone is in your ear asking if you like Lady Gaga.
I actually really liked the haunted houses because it didn’t scare me. I think the reason why is that it was really crowded. The people in front of us already got spooked by someone jumping out at them. So by the time we got to that part the guy was resetting for the next group.
Now for the concert. Loud music, sweaty guys, and lots of head banging. My friend wanted to get close to the stage but we came late and the place was pretty full. But we nicely pushed our way through. Now I’ve been to many concerts even happy ones like Colbie Caillet and I hated the people in the audience. Rude and annoying. However the fans of Rob Zombie are the nicest people! It was pretty easy getting close to the stage and I was even told by some guy that I was a nice person. random. We got close to a mosh pit but security was quick and the people involved stopped almost immediately.
Bathrooms a few and far between. Two large beers were $ 25! Parking was $ 10.

I didn’t go through the mazes :(
I watched that super cool little B&W movie set up they had going while we waited in line for about 20 minutes. And then we get to the front and them bustas wanted to put a hood over my head! A HOOD!
Are you mad?!
Where are we?! Guantanamo?! Afghanistan?!

I’m not even going to get into the sanitary concerns regarding this proposition.
Instead, let me just state the obvious:
YOU DO NOT OBSTRUCT THE VIEW OF A POMONA QUEEN.

And since you HAD to go through all 3 mazes successively, there was no way for me to skip the hooded ridiculousness. I couldn’t get to the other 2 without going through the first.

And although it’s not giant, nor walkable,
I’m pretty sure I don’t have to walk through an inflatable one to grasp the awesomness that is a vajayjay.

They had a bunch of bars that were decidedly adult themed.
Boobs and stuff. Cute décor. A few monsters roaming around. Standard fair fare. The concert was great — ok sound and good energy by the bands and crowd alike.
Parking was cool — they have a little tram for those of you who are against walking or just forgot your orthopedic shoes/​walking stick.

Seriously. Free. No $ 5 a ride, ala the LA County Fair.
I hopped on that baby and didn’t get off until my pony was broken in.
What is it about carousels?

They had young attendants on the ride and I’m sure,

they thought something was wrong with me
because I was smiling too big, laughing too hard, almost crying with happiness
each time I went around.
And boy, did I get around.
Like a dozen times.

I’m not much of a Halloween person, but I LOVE Rob Zombie and horror movies! We bought tickets to see him in concert on ¹¹⁄₂. The price of the ticket was $ 45 which included the mazes.
MAZES — Didn’t do the 1^st one. I wasn’t digging the bag over the head idea. It really grossed me out. So they asked me to take the Pussy Exit to maze 2. Maze 2 was ok. My favorite was Maze 3. The actors were acting out various scenes to past crimes. Bodies blown up by a cow girl, a butcher butchering the dead, etc… I thought all these actors did a fantastic job. The props were true to life. Every time I made a turn someone would surprise me with «BOO» or a stare. I didn’t jump at any time, but I think it was because I was walking with my elbows out and avoided eye contact! The guy behind me (my husband) kept getting scared!
FOOD/​BEVERAGE — $ 13 for a 24 oz beer? Kinda pricey. It was like being at a concert. Blonde older bartender that was working the bar right across from the entrance to the amphitheater was INCREDIBLY SLOW. I missed 2 songs from the band I was there to see. I was in line for 40 min. And it wasn’t even that long. Piece of pizza was $ 6.50, hot dogs were $ 11. ATM’s sure came in handy.
CONCERT — Eagles of Death Metal and Rob Zombie? I was in HEAVEN! It was a little less crowded for EODM. I was actually able to SEE the stage. I was squished during Rob Zombie. Couldn’t see a thing. I left before it was over. I enjoyed it from outside.
All in all it was a fun night. After the show I was lucky enough to meet Jesse from Eagles of Death Metal! That was the icing on the cake.
Would I go back next year? F*** YES!!!

This place is not for the prudish, squeamish, homophobic, overly religious, etc.
Basically, if you can’t let loose and have fun — don’t waste your money.
This is not your typical Halloween event.
It’s filthy, vulgar, gory, and oh so fun.
I purchased GA tickets for last night’s event with Zomboy and Doctor P.
Was it worth it? Yes.
Even with the $ 10 for parking.
It’s a concert for people I enjoy, three mazes, and neat vendors.
The vendors:
There’s an herbal whiskey vendor — check it out.
There’s a breast cancer awareness vendor — boobies!
There’s an organization that Rob Zombie helps, that’s all about pups rescued by soldiers, while on their tours of duty — donate and win a prize!
There’s a few vendors with some eclectic designs worth taking a peek at.
The food served here is expensive, but gigantic (especially the ‘intestines’).
The beer is reasonably priced.
There’s a fancy Jaeger here and shots are $ 6 — try it.
The walkways:
There’s freak shows placed about to observe.
There’s a woman who breathes and swallows fire.
There’s a man who will let you staple money to his body ($ 1 to his stomach, $ 5 to his butt, $ 20 to staple his sack to his leg).
There are stilt walkers that are bionic and absolutely beautiful.
There are a few lost little girls, clowns with balloons, and such.
There are also a few people wielding chainsaws and horn machines.
The décor is wonderful where it is placed.
There are mechanical structures that look like they took forever to make.
There’s a few carnival game stations set up that seem to give prizes no matter what.
The mazes:
They are all housed in one building so heads up.
–The first maze involves being hooded and uses sensory deprivation to it’s advantage.
I enjoyed pretending to guide my boyfriend around the maze, only to smack into a wall, then get air-​horned.
I did get my boob grabbed in this maze, but I’m not sure if it was a monster or the couple in front of us not out of the maze yet…
–The second maze was my favorite (after diving in with some help).
They hand you 3D glasses and you’re off on an acid trip with hookers and sins of all sorts.
This maze was neon and everything was well thought out.
This maze makes you use your brain, and keeps you laughing throughout it.
The characters may be overly sexual but if you aren’t one of the types mentioned at the beginning of this review, you’ll be fiiiiiine.
— The third maze is a touching maze for sure and they will either mark you (okay to touch), or not mark you (not okay to touch).
It can make some people uncomfortable because of the serial killer theme.
This is the goriest maze and they executed this well!!!
I think this may be the longest maze.
They hit on a lot of different fears/​creeps here (they even got my boyfriend when a clown ran his hand down a balloon, causing it to shriek).
They even got me when they handed over a fork with something foul-​smelling on it (I have a STRONG sense of smell).
The actors were really good and I loved how well they fit into each room.
The show room:
It gets hot in the room.
It was pretty packed for Zomboy and Doctor P, so if you’re going for a big act show up early.
The floor gets wet with beer, so it can become slippery.
The sound system didn’t fully kick in last night until halfway in (around 9:30pm).
There is no seating anywhere, so be prepared (standing on concrete hurts after a few hours).
Security is there, but not effective, so enjoy your pits and such.

Awesome!!! We went to Universal HHN, Knott’s, The Purge, Queen Mary and even drove to Vegas last weekend for FrightDome… but this was by far my favorite Halloween Event this year.
The mazes were great! I rarely get scared… I pretty much walk through all mazes at all events with a huge smile, giggling and clapping when I enjoy it… I smiled so much in the last 2 mazes that my cheeks hurt. We went through them 3 times each. The scareactors ‘boo scared’ me a couple of times, but I don’t want to give anything away.
However, the blackout maze was actually pretty terrifying (granted I have a fear of having my nose and mouth covered so allowing anyone to put a bag over my head was difficult enough) but I made my guy go through first and he kept getting shocked apparently. It was great… I’ve been wanting a scary maze for years and finally found one. I don’t remember breathing the entire time.
The employees were wonderful and everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs, which really added to the fun. The sets, props, costumes, makeup, etc were great! There were DJ’s in the other building but we really just came for the mazes.
I hope Rob does this again next year!!!
PS. They touched us… but I was never offended. I did laugh so hard I almost fell over when I had to walk through the ‘pink airbag tunnel’ (I’ll label it that as to not offend anyone reading my review.)

I’m sure you skimmed through several reviews to get a gist of this place.
Everyone has different things that creeps them out. Some prefer clowns, zombies, red necks, demons, etc. So I could see why some were disappointed with this maze.
For those who don’t know rob zombies style: loud music, demonic, creatively gory and sexual (think XXX more than rated R). I did have high expectations because of his movies… Was disappointed because all 3 mazes were back-​to-​back. Didn’t know what else to do afterwards.
1^st maze: loved the concept but this was the least exciting maze. Was scared at first when he put a sack over my head and made me go first. The maze was long so I got bored plus it was getting warm and I hate loud noises in my ears.
2^nd: 3D, colorful and dildos! Walking thru a blow-​up vagina is now off my bucket list.
3^rd: Was expecting the movie, 1000 corpse, didn’t know it was a serial killer theme til Jackson pointed it out. Charlie Manson, Mexican guy, clown murderer, etc. Was a bit bummed but I still enjoyed the maze a lot. Very theatrical and the décor was pretty cool. Had a lot of fun taking turns going first in each maze with another couple.
Bf took his time in each room to watch each serial killer play their part.
— A monster put a red X on my bfs forehead because he chose to be touched.
Pros:
— The effort, theatric and creativity put into it.
— Last 2 mazes weren’t as scary as I thought but I loved the monsters/​zombies/​serial killers/​ghosts and the décor.
— The monsters were more interactive than knotts scary farm… Maybe too up-​in-​your-​face for some people.

If you want something different than your usual haunted mazes than Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare might just be the right experience for you!
I came here with an open mind and with Unilocal hookups my friends and I had complimentary admission on the second day of opening so I didn’t have high expectations. I knew beforehand that there would be only three mazes, but I was quite disappointed that these mazes were literally one after the other so it felt like you were actually going through just one really long maze.
Without spoiling the experience for you here’s the run down on the three mazes:
Lords of Salem: This is the first maze that you will go through and it is in total blackout. They will put a bag over your head and using only your senses you will have to navigate through the maze. Being in complete darkness frightens me so I was completely freaked out by this experience. Although, afterwards I felt like it was more of team building experience since we relied heavily on one another to get through the maze in one piece. Things will move around you, you will feel things, and you will hear things.
El Superbeasto 3D: This is very similar to the other types of 3D mazes I’ve seen at other amusement parks except the theme is quite sexual and could be offensive to those easily offended! The maze was actually quite comedic for me and the bright neon decoration and characters inside the maze made it really entertaining.
Haunt of 1000 corpses: Before entering this maze they will ask if you want to be touched by the monsters. If so, they will mark a bloody X on your forehead. I couldn’t miss out on this experience so I told them to go ahead and mark me. Although, honestly it didn’t make a difference because several people in my group got touched even though they weren’t marked. This maze is overall very similar to your typical haunted mazes with dead corpses everywhere with the exception of many graphic murder scenes.
It only took us about an hour to go through all the mazes and from what we were told you are only allowed to go through them once. I really wished that the mazes were more spread out so we could take our time going through each maze. The fun ended really fast and that was a bummer.
We were able to walk around the fairgrounds afterwards and there were about 15 monsters hiding and scaring people. Animatronics and giant scary monsters are displayed throughout for some great photo opportunities. In the exhibit hall, there’s a band and DJ spinning dark tunes every night. The carousel is also free but I highly suggest those who get motion sickness to avoid this carousel. I ended up feeling extremely sick afterwards and the monsters continued to scare me while I was sitting down and trying not to throw up. :(
To end our night, this magician guy came out of nowhere and set up a tiny table to show us some awesome magic tricks! He actually performs at the Magic Castle so we knew that he was legit! We were all actually really entertained by his mind tricks, card tricks, and crude humor! If you can spot him out in the crowd, he’s the guy with glasses and a hat.
Overall, I felt that there are many areas that needed to be improved. First off, the parking was extremely difficult to find and there were no signs directing us to the parking area. We had to drive all around the Fairplex to find the parking which was $ 10. Secondly, the mazes need to be spread apart so people can take their time going through them. Third, the price of admission is outrageous at $ 30 and even more so for VIP at $ 55-​$ 85. We had VIP access and we never even used the front of the line passes. There was a VIP lounge at the concert area but all they offered was a couple couches to sit at and free Monster energy drinks. This is definitely not worth the $ 85 upgrade!
*There is currently a Groupon going around for $ 25 admission and I highly suggest grabbing this discount instead if you do want to check out Rob Zombie’s American Nightmare. Also, this experience due to its offensive nature and graphic violence is not intended for anyone younger than 14 so leave your kiddos at home!

It is the scariest maze that places you by yourself with a hood over your head. You don’t have to worry about getting lost because the ghouls will guide you back. Beware: some part of the walls have a slight shock to it.
— Rob Zombie’s The Haunted World of El Superbeasto 3D
The maze was in Neon 3D with a much needed humor after the first maze. It’s crude, but funny as well. Super colorful!
— Haunt of 1000 Corpses
Classic Halloween haunt: before entry, they will ask if they have permission to touch you. If yes, they will mark you with faux blood on your forehead. The actors aren’t too aggressive, so go for it! These actors will interact with you throughout the maze that makes this maze a good closure.
After the maze, you can join the party and rock to some music with a huge dance floor area (indoor). This venue is perfect for party folks in their teens or 20s. Overall, the pricing is high for 3 mazes with nothing much else to do if you’re not in the mood to party. Overall, A-​OK! I can see paying $ 40 if I make a whole night of it at this venue, so party if you decide to come.

I felt more abused then scared. Okay not really sure if abused is the right word maybe tortured. One of the zombies took my Iphone and disabled it and the guy on stilts took my beanie. They eventually gave things back. Yeah I seriously think the moment I was most scared here was when the zombie took my phone other that everything was very anticlimactic.
Thank goodness I got these tickets for free since parking was already ten dollars. I can’t believe that you pay 40 dollars just to go through these mazes once and for the concert. It’s definitely a rip off if you legitly want to be scared. But if you want a good laugh this is for you. The first maze was the «scariest» because they put a bag over your head. And there’s loud buzzy noises and things that slide under your feet. My sister was at the head of our group and said she touched everyone while trying to grope through this maze. She even got shocked!
The next maze is the overly sexual one. This one was the most fun and vulgar. They poke you with things… The best part is that you get to wear 3d glasses.
The last maze they ask you if you want to be touched and then mark you with red paint if you do. Lol I got pushed pretty hard by one of them.
In all it just feels like you’re on a horror movie set. The props and décor is really good but the thing as a whole is just alright. I guess ppl come for the bands too. The music was way too loud though.

OFFENDED!!! How could I possibly be «offended» in a haunted house?
Oh, it’s Rob Zombie.
As a huge fan of all haunted/​horror things, I can say that the quality of the mazes were pretty well done. There were 3 back-​to-​back mazes.
Maze 1: Black out. Black bags over your head, cruise through the maze with no one leading you and no use of eyesight. I thought this maze was incredibly obnoxious because of the loud noises and my hyper-​sensitive hearing, but it is scary to walk around in the dark and only trusting your touch/​feel senses.
Maze 2: Based on the weird cartoon «El Super Beasto,» we literally entered the maze through a vagina. We were given 3D glasses, floor/​wall simulation, and good actors for one hell of a trippy ride. A lot of adult content, a lot of sexual name calling.
Ohhhh «offended»
Maze 3: House of 1000 corpses was probably my fav. It was based on Rob Zombie’s movie, but they added reenactments of a lot of famous real-​life serial killers in each room (i.e Robert Ramirez, Charles Manson, John Wayne Gacy, etc). This one was really long and thought out.
PERSONAL SPACE WARNING: Actors outside the maze really like to follow you around (as opposed to Universal, Knott’s, they don’t have that much time for you).
I get it, you’re scary. yes. But you are, in fact, standing too close to my face for too long. The only thing at that point that becomes «offensive» is your breath.
Monsters make a lot of «Let me steal your boyfriend/​girlfriend» jokes. Male monsters grabbed JY in the ass to make me jelly; which JY also did not like one bit.
It’s really in-​your-​face interaction that I can see some people might like, but may offend some.

Its been over 2 years since I’ve gone to any haunted events. So i sort of forgotten about getting «scared» !
Unsuspecting me, was just getting scared left and right! I like to believe that I am not easily scared but these scare-​ers were extremely aggressive!
I think because it was opening night and we arrived right when it opened.(eager beavers we are) they held my hand, grabbed my guys butts, and screamed in my ears! It was pretty intense!
I love how all the mazes are connected and it goes from one to another and its QUICK! I hate waiting over hours for one scare! So this worked out good. though we did expereinced everything including the vendor booths and the mini concert all in an hours time! Might be different if Halloween gets closer in date!
First maze — Total Blackout! A maze i have never expereinced before! I must worn those that are caustrophobic or tend to always need to be in control of your surrounding this may be a tad uncomfortable for you! At first this maze freaked me out but it seemed to last a bit too long– i was getting extremely sweaty and almost couldn’t breath that i cheated a bit (you’ll get what i am saying when you experienced this on your own) .
Second maze– my guy and I both loved this one the most! Warning: Tons of Adult Contents that may be unsuitable for kids !
I lovvve the entrance, super fn’ unique ! I did however get extremely dizzy when we had to adjust with our 3d classes but after a bit it was just plain out trippy! Super cool!
3^rd maze– A lot of vulgarity and a lot of the scene of each room you passed by can be easily be compared to that of Universal Studios, needless to say i was amazed and scared all at the same time!
Wished they had more but the intimacy of this was great!

Call me a masochist or adrenaline junkie but I love getting scared. Unfortunately, I think I have numbed myself to the point where mazes and horror films just don’t quite do it for me anymore…
Thanks to Unilocal,I managed to get 2 free tickets to Rob Zombies nightmare. Unfortunately, I couldn’t seem to find a plus one because everyone was either too scared to go, was too busy to go, or was too scared and lied about being busy. XD. Luckily, I tagged up with a group of Unilocalers and our party consisting of Shanon, James, Sidney, Schel and Kevin rocked the night.
First off, parking was confusing, the fairplex was barely lit and there were no signs pointing us where to go. Once we got into the place, we noticed how small the event actually was. Pretty much, there was one giant maze with 3 sections, so you had to go through all 3 at once.
In order to avoid spoilers, I will say that the first maze sucks for the first person in line (which was me) not because it was scary but because it got frustrating real quick. The second maze was like having a fun acid trip filled with dildos. The third maze was a concoction of red neck stereotypes and foul smells.
Asides from the mazes, there wasn’t much else to do. The magician was pretty awesome. Furthermore, the carousel at the fairplex is arguably the most intense carousel I’ve ever been on. Double decker and it spun for a really long time. Moreover, the hall with the dj kind of stunk because the crowd was not dancing because:
1) the dj could not mix to save her life
2) everyone is not drunk enough
3) we have too many goth kids and they are just cool to dance. At least try to dance like these guys:
Overall, if I’ve have had to pay $ 30 I would have been pretty disappointed. I wish the mazes were spread out more and that they had more mazes.

Goth chicks are hott!!! Ok, some of them can be pretty scary looking, but WOWSERS watching DJ HeavyGrinder, formerly DJ Barbie, here at Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare made me want to go Goth, at least for a night. It brought flashbacks to the days when I used to go to da club dressed in bright happy colors, intending to dance to the latest and greatest tunes of the times but I always found myself drawn to the music of the Industrial room where I cheerily bounced around like a maniac trying to dance with all the depressed; and now slightly confused by my bright happy desire to mingle; looking kids dressed in black. Ahh good times.
Ok alter egos aside. Rob Zombie and his crew have done a fantastic job creating unusual «Monsters» and scary beings here at his Great American Nightmare. The animatronics are masterpieces. Seriously, take the time to admire the ghastly creations just be aware of your surroundings as it is very easy for those mischievous actors to come up and frighten you while you are entranced in the artistry.
The three mazes featured were inspired by Rob Zombie’s Horror movies and I’d say they were psychologically terrifying. In the first maze they placed a black cloth over your head and let you walk through the maze alone so the fear here is all what you imagine might be lurking around the corner. To get through the maze u can put your hand out and feel your way around or my preferred method was to kick the side of the wall so I was protected from touching anything possibly icky and it worked because my maze partner was shocked-​literally by the wall at some point. Highlight of me for that maze was that I accidentally kicked somebody that was rushing by to scare us. Yea! Genius of this maze was that it was inexpensive and simple to create but all the terror was in your mind.
Second maze began with an entrance that comprised of a large scaled cartoony female with her legs spread open and you were welcomed to enter into her enormous pink vagina. You literally have to squeeze through the walls of her vagina. I entered her tight vagina and put out my hand to feel for the exit and was surprised to find that her vagina was very deep. She was starting to squeeze and suffocate me in between her pink puffy folds. Just before panic set in I emerged on the other side and passed through a dizzying 3d tunnel that made me walk like a drunk pirate into the neon dildo filled world. I have never been chased by a clown holding a glowing dildo before and can now cross that off the list of things to experience before I die. I put that up with watching a guy do a naked cartwheel on a nude beach. Something I definitely needed to never experience in my life but have found to be very amusing.
Maze 3 was the most terrifying maze. It was seriously f*d up. The guys before we entered terrorized us by saying how we were little bitches and we were going to shit ourselves. Yea I wasn’t ready for that level of profanity but it did make the whole experience more real. I literally ran into a wall running away from frightening things in this maze and I ended up cutting my hand. Once the actors saw how scared I was they backed off. I tried to play it cool through one room in which a lady was murdering her husband after making her abort a child, but if you look interested in the scene and what the actors are doing but then try and play it cool the actors will play it up and try their hardest to f with you. She walked uncomfortably close to me and relentlessly whispered/​wailed in my ear «He made me do it. Oh why did you make me do it? He made me do it. So I had to kill him. Why did you make me kill you.» Thinking about the whole thing still disturbs me. She did a great job with her role. The dark side of humanity that is profiled in this maze made me think of respected literary master Cormac McCarthy and his dark work Child of God. It’s interesting to be exposed to that aspect of humanity every now and then and be faced with what we are capable of. It made me grateful and appreciate the fact that I am a good human being and I am surrounded by other good human beings.
Some tips for the creators of this event. Make the mazes 3 separate entities instead of having us do all 3 mazes at once. In doing so you will get people to stay at the venue longer which will encourage them to spend more money with the vendors. We only spent a little over an hour from entrance to exit here because honestly once done with the mazes most people split. Patrons would also appreciate the ability to compose themselves for each of the individual mazes. The way it’s set up now it doesn’t encourage people to mill around and enjoy all the other cool aspects of the night.
Thank you Unilocal and Ryan and Katie for the opportunity to enjoy RZGAN. I never would have experienced it otherwise and am glad I was able to.

Hey, Unilocal giving me free tickets for a Halloween event? Why not!!!
Got free tickets courtesy of Unilocal on a Friday night, rolled in around 8:15ish and paid the $ 10 for parking. Ocktoberfest and the Great American nightmare are happening at the same time, so if you’re seeing anyone rocking Lederhosens, can pretty assume they’re going to Ocktoberfest.
Overall, there’s a checkpoint the equivalent of TSA: you get frisked and your bags checked and off you go. Leave your swiss army knives in the car if it’s attached to your key fob as my hubby learned (we just removed it from the keys, threw it in a nearby bush and came back later for it). You’ll be greated by snuff film-​type characters that will poke you and scare you. I must have looked like a damn target because all of them noticing me holding my hubby’s hand they’d do their best to scare me: some succeed, others just make me chuckle.
So there’s 3 mazes without giving it all away:
Maze #1: You’re going to wear hoods for the whole maze. You take it off anytime during the maze and the staff will notice and make the experience even horrifying for you (Rob Zombie announced that on KROQ-​FM). It’s a different type of experience, with ghoulish hands creeping you out along with bangings while you’re navigating in the dark.
Maze #2: Definitely not made for kids under 18 whatsoever. You get 3D glasses for this one for the crazy experience. You’ll know its crazy from the get-​go as the staff asks you, «you love vagina???»…because you enter through one! ha! Trippy maze with the blacklights and 3D. Fun and horror here.
Maze #3: OH NO. this REALLY is not suitable for 18 and below! This maze clearly reflects the Rob Zombie snuff horror movies he’s made, as this maze was rather graphic with graphic language being barked at you as you make your way around. After you’re scared a bit… do make the effort to actually look at all the details of this maze, no matter how graphic it is. They must have noticed my asian girl horror scream as they kept following me through corners to scare the shit out of me. No, I didn’t shart my pants folks ;)
After the mazes, there’s booths to check out, a mini outdoor movie to check out old classic horror snuff films, and a concert hall with strobe lights to give you seizures.
Worth the $ 30/​pp? Not exactly mainly due to the fact you can be done with the halloween gore in roughly and hour and there’s not much outside of the mazes to do other than get spooked by snuff film-​like ghouls

If you want scary… it’s cheaper and easier just visit the cemetery at midnight.
Ok, so I only been to Queen Mary dark harbor before… needless to say, Queen Mary has it’s haunted history… so when you stand by the swimming pool inside Queen Mary… in the dark… or walk through the tiny hallway under the deck… it was already scary.
I don’t believe any place can be scary… because you already know everything is fake.
So, here’s the Rob zombies great American nightmare. I think it’s UNIQUE in its own way.
The 1^st maze, I don’t want to be a spoiler so as their website said, total blackout: p
After you walk through it… you felt like WTF that is it? But it’s def a unexpected experience… whoever come out with this idea is so brilliant. Even though I think they can make it more scary by increasing your fear.
2^nd maze is 3D and it’s super surreal. I love it way better than the traditional maze that has graveyard, tombstone, vampire and coffins… oh lot of adult content too. This is the place I wish I could walk through again to just feel again in such unrealistic world. I didn’t know 3D technology can be used this way before so I am totally impressed.
The 3^rd maze has lot of bloody scene… each scene is very well made if you look at those details. It is like watching different scenes from different horror movies.
It did not take us very long to finish walk through all 3 mazes. they kind all connect together and there was only like 10 mins wait at the beginning.
People complain this venue is small. Well, maybe if they separate each maze and each maze has 1 hour wait. People will feel they get more what they paid for… human nature. If there’s no more wait in Disneyland???
The concert and vendors were kind lame in my opinion.
The zombies walked around to scary people were pretty remarkable like the scary McDonald or the creepy bride. Because this place wasn’t that packed, so they actually had more time to interact with the visitors.
Btw, there’s free carousel ride, if they can put some corpses on it or let me ride on the zombie horse… that would totally be awesome… but no it’s just a normal carousel!!!
they def can be better if they can attract more crowds.
For some people, What was missing here was the festival crowded atmosphere which I didn’t care much for it… maze itself was excellent. Since this venue is kind new and thanks for those hard working staffs there… I am giving it 5 stars even it was more like a 4 stars experience.
