The Daumier

The only reason we are giving this place 3 stars is because of Priscilla and the maintenance lady. Priscilla is the ONLY one who will actually fight to get things done that you request and she is super nice but unfortunately she is limited by management. The maintenance lady is bright, friendly, and always in a good mood and she does a great job!
Now for the negatives: This place is awful. From the second I stepped in my room i knew it was going to be a nightmare. My room did not have a breakfast bar like shown online, therefore all of the space for cabinets was gone. The layout of the building is terrible. There are two elevators located on the same side of the building so if you live on the back side of the complex it is going to be a FUN move! The internet is the WORST PART ABOUT THIS PLACE! It is included with the cost of rent but it does you no good. It would be faster to send a carrier pigeon to deliver information. This was super frustrating as a student that needs internet access pretty much ALL THE TIME to get work/​studying done. Cable TV has limited channels and goes in and out. (didn’t care about this so much but just another thing that is annoying about this place). There is no warning for when staff might come into your room so just be aware. Apparently this was something that we signed in the lease but I really felt uncomfortable with people coming into my room with no notice and without me being there. Laundry is free but the text to inform you when your laundry is done is STILL not set up after living here for a year. Beware because the things they say are included in rent are normally not set up, don’t work properly, or is just simply not true. Smoke detectors go off all the time for no apparent reason. The list goes on and on.
We strongly recommend living off campus even if it is a 10 minute drive. The convenience of this place is not worth the continuous headache that you will have to deal with. School is hard enough you do not need to throw a stressful living situation on top of it.

This is a very shady place that only cares about itself and their money. They have had an incredible amount of problems and delays.
1. When we moved in, the pool area was closed for over a month.
2. Gym didn’t open until 2 months later and it still didn’t have any TVs working.
3. We had an ant infestation problem.
4. They had a situation where they fumigated the room of a student with a pet. The pet was sick and hospitalized for months.
5. Internet took a solid 4 months to be fixed.
6. Cable was not installed until 2 months after we moved in.
7. Staff during Halloween laughed off the fact that someone left a real severed goat’s head in one of the elevators.
8. Installing a card reader to enter through the South door took over 4 months of arguments between tenants and administration.
9. Recently the administration played a switch-​bait game where they told us to renew by certain date and get a discount to then contact us a few days later telling us it was first-​come-​first-​serve (which the advertisement didn’t) say and now the prices were going up unless we signed that day at that time.
Very, very shady place. Students should stay away. Move to Helix or anywhere else instead.
