Don Meyler Inspections

The inspector was scheduled to be at my home at 10 AM. At 10:45, still no inspector so I called to see what was going on. The woman answering the phone claimed to be calling the inspector to follow up. She comes back with «he was there but no one was at home». She stated that the inspector claimed to have called my phone (which he did not), claims that my doorbell was broken (which it is not), and that he knocked on my door. If he had knocked, then my dog would have been barking up a storm (which she didn’t do all morning). Supposedly this all happened at 9:58 and the inspector did not hear a dog. Really?! Ugh!

My experience was no service. They want payment up front and after that good luck getting anyone to call you back. I called several times, left messages and could not get anyone to schedule an appointment for an elevation certificate. I finally was fed up and cancelled the process. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

The inspector was on time and did the work.
However, he did note one issue on the report that was due to permitted work being done on property.
What I am really upset about is that although I was home and talked to him, he did not mention anything about this (very minor) deficiency or would have given me the chance to rectify. He was aware of the work being done to the house and at the VERY least should have let me know that this is going to impact the report.
When I contacted the company they were unwilling to right the wrong and only offered for the to come back and reinspect for even more money.

Inspectors are «know it all» jerks –and do not follow the OIR-​1802 Form definitions, they use their own methods and cause a client to not receive full discounts on their insurance!!! DONT EVER USE!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Bought a home in West Palm Beach. Inspector missed so many things, including extensive water damage and unsealed windows through the whole house. They also sent us the wrong information regarding our roof for insurance purposes that qualified us then didn’t qualify us for credits. A year later we are paying big bucks for all these missed items that should be routine. Big disappointment! I would never recommend this company to anyone, in fact they should be put out of business for the sloppy inspections they provide.
