All the reviews are correct! This place is great! Our waiter, Eddie, was hilarious and made our experience all the better. The crab rangoon was not the usual paste of crab and cream cheese, but actual small crab pieces, you could definitely taste the difference. It’s the kind of Chinese place you’re always looking for!

Excellent Chinese food NYC style. Owners are pleasant. Had the Peking duck oh my god soooo good. Trying the menu so far so good. The wait staff is very attentive. And the girls who man the front are lovely. Great experience.

Excellent food for the value. The hot and sour soup is very good. They also have an early bird dinner from 4 to 6pm which is very good.

Visited on a Sat evening around 5:30p. Get there early if you can as place gets packed. Had Harry as a waiter. Showed him his picture on a prior Unilocal review. He was moved that someone thought highly of him. Spouse had a «special» of pork and eggplant. It was delicious. I had shrimp in black bean sauce. Loads of shrimp, sauce was OK, but it’s not NYC Chinese. It was good enough. Hot and sour soup was OK. To me, that’s the barometer of a Chinese restaurant – if the H and S soup is good to exc, so will the meal. Overall, very pleasant restaurant, lots of staff, food is good enough and very plentiful. The«Duck for Two,» however, seems like their signature dish. Next time.

I came here over 30 years ago the first day they opened. The place has not aged a bit. The food is absolutely first rate and the Beijing Duck is tender, juicy and simply perfect. Our waiter Henry was a delight. He’s a world traveler like us with wonderful stories and professional service, with a broad smile! I will miss him and that duck upon returning home to the West! I wish Henry and Pompano’s Peking Duck House many more years of success!!!

My Fiancé and I are regulars to this hidden gem in Pompano. The Peking Duck House is the epitome of authentic homestyle Chinese cuisine. When you sit down, you are greeted with a piping hot tea and the best homemade duck sauce with crispy noodles. My favorite dish(right now) is the honey garlic chicken dinner. It comes with an egg roll, choice of soup and a dessert! Their egg drop soup is delicious. Always a great experience!

If you’re looking for asian fusion fare, this is not the place. This is you’re typical Cantonese Chinese food. Went here with my family on Xmas day. Place was very crowded and reservation was needed. Wasn’t sure what to expect after reading such varied reviews on Unilocal.Food was better than expected, but as I said typical Chinese food I grew up on as a kid. I got the pan fried noodles with vegetables and it was very good, but you could just feel the msg. My son got the honey chicken which was very good. My other son got heavily breaded chicken dish and was not so happy with it. My hubby got a Szechuan chicken dish that was very good. The egg drop soup and hot and sour soup were not bad but loaded with cornstarch(thickener) and msg. Service was good and our waitress was friendly. Prices were very fair. Probably wouldn’t go back, just because we like more of an Asian fusion type food selection and no msg, but for those who love Cantonese, it’s not bad.

Unimpressive quality and menu. When we went the restaurant was full of people but the atmosphere was a little off. Senior/early bird discount maybe? And a huge Italian frescoed ceiling. Food was ok but not up to west coast Asian standards

I didn’t like my meal or enjoy it. The tables were dirty and sticky. The place was cramped and the back of my chair was against another person’s table! I was disappointed because they don’t have General Sao Chicken and I think they should. They also didn’t have gluten free soy sauce for my mother :(The waitress was also not nice and the only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1 was because the chocolate ice cream was ok. Don’t go here.

Excellent Chinese food! We come here every time we visit the area. Great service too and reasonable pricing for the large serving sizes.

Overall: Pretty god awful place. Food: Amount of salt was ridiculous and for the prices you could have much tastier fare at a mall food court. Seafood was chewy like it was frozen and partially defrosted before cooking. Pei wei does the same food much better. Atmosphere: wtf… filthy spot straight out the 80’s. Tacky interior with a slightly moldy smell. Bathroom was horrendous as was the amount of crap on the floor. Come on guys, don’t just wipe stuff off the table and onto the floor. Sweep up because now I have fried rice stuck to my loafers. Service: Waiter and bus guy was friendly at least. Hostess wandered around like she gave zero f*cks as there wasn’t much for her to do until her shift ended. So yeah, avoid this spot.

My biggest turn off in this place is the menu is littered with«ASKFORFOODWITHOUTMSG» warnings. This really disturbed me because it automatically made unhealthy food feel so much worse and went against everything I’ve learned about advertising. I found it unsettling, but I was glad they let you know without asking but… it made me question how would I know if it actually WASMSG free… would I really know the difference in taste? or texture? or am I supposed to go by their word? As far as the food itself– The veggie fried rice was good and not greasy. The General Tso’s fried tofu was a weird consistency to say the least. It was very tough on the outside and normal chewy tofu texture on the inside. Very hard to cut and almost gammy. The waitress tried to cheat us out of some white rice, but we weren’t letting that happen. The broccoli was good but the MSG sauce was freaking me out. The veggie egg rolls were super oily on the inside and the roll itself was too thick. Overall, it tasted very similar to any mediocre chinese food you can order. Besides the food being average, the place just seemed dirty. To their defense I did not use the bathroom or look around, but the overall restaurant just seemed like they stopped caring.

Food was a typical American Chinese. I ordered from the lunch menu… pork chow mein with fried rice and wonton soup. $ 8. The staff was friendly.

Great food and great service. My husband and I have been going here over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Fair prices, lots of food! I never have to make dinner the next night or two when we go! Great job Peking Duck House!

Been back to this great old school Chinese Restaurant a few times now. Seems to be more enjoyable each time as I get to try more of my childhood favorites from NY. I love the original Cantonese specialties and the fact that they are nothing like most of today’s fast, cheap and Broccoli, bell pepper dishes. Although they have the new stuff, it’s wonderful to be able to carry forward the old specialties that made Chinese such a staple in the old days. Although some things may be better at Christine Lees at Gulfstream in Hallandale, the«Peking Duck House» is working its way into my heart, and it’s closer to my new home in Ft. Lauderdale!

I used to come here with my family many years ago, moved back into the area and decided to come again. But my experience tonight was horrible. My family and I ordered(among other things) Beef and broccoli to share. Upon going for a second plateful, I noticed something in the food. There was a very very long grey hair in the food. It wasn’t even just on the side of the plate or on top, it was IN the food. I had to dig it out. Absolutely disgusting. When I called the waitress over to show her, she didn’t apologize or anything. She just looked at me and asked if I wanted a new one. When I said«no thank you, just some additional pancakes for the mushu(sp?) pork. She says: «it will be $ 0.75 per pancake» Seriously?! After the long grey gross hair I just showed you?(I am a man with short brown hair) I asked to speak with the manager who was very rude. «The waitress told me the color of the hair and no one in the kitchen has that color hair» instead of «lm so sorry». The manager said«I took off the $ 0.75 for the pancakes and the Beef and broccoli» I then told him you better cut this bill in half at the minimum. He took 50% off the bill after. I think it should have been comped completely Regardless of the $, their attitude was so unprofessional and rude. I used to work in a restaurant, and if this ever happened I would have crawled under the table and died.

Hairs in the food? Bugs in the food? Rancid oil? Toilet falling off the floor? WOW! Just isn’t happening on all of the visits I make here. I will bump this up a star to 5 stars. Every time I have come here the food & service have been perfection, I do come off hours, at the beginning of early bird special, so not only do I get a great price with extras included, but full attention from the staff. Usually it is just me and a few tables of old timers, & Canadian snowbirds. I love it! It is quiet tranquil Chinese food heaven! Everyone has the right to their opinion, & reading some of the other comments though I have to jump in here & rebut. One comment about Haitians doing the cooking is wrong, the Haitian man is the dishwasher, the kitchen staff all Chinese. As for the food, all I can say is that I have been here multiple times, I have had: Sweet & Sour shrimp PHENOMENAL, Mongolian beef PHENOMENAL, Pan Fried Chinese Dumplings PHENOMENAL, General Tso’s Chicken PHENOMENAL, Honey Garlic Chicken PHENOMENAL, Orange Beef PHENOMENAL, Orange Chicken PHENOMENAL, Egg Roll-WonTon Soup-Fried WonTons PHENOMENAL! Service all Chinese waitstaff PHENOMENAL! Cleanliness, ambience, décor, parking, location… PHENOMENAL. Have to give 5 stars. Have not done take out, always eat in the restaurant. See my pics for proof! Again come here with the right expectations and you will be rewarded with delicious AMERICANIZED, let me repeat AMERICANIZED Chinese food.
