I booked this motel after reading all of the positive reviews. After staying here it is obvious that 95% of these reviews are fake. I booked the room in January after coming across the craigslist ad for $ 80. I called to make the reservation for March and spoke with Gabriel who confirmed the reservation for $ 80 and told me there would be about $ 8 in tax. He told me that they would need a deposit for the first night to hold the reservation. This was fine and he ran my card. I saw that the charge was $ 99 and called back immediately as this was not what we had agreed upon. I spoke with Nazih who said he was the owner and explained the situation. He said no problem they would take care of it when I got there in March. I showed up on March 19 to check in. Gabriel and Nazih are behind the counter. I begin to refresh them of the conversation that we had had when I booked the reservation. They begin denying that the conversation took place and we’re not going to adjust the rate. We went back-and-forth for several minutes and it became clear that it was going to go nowhere. At this point they tell me that they can get $ 400 for the room and I can just leave if that’s what I want to do. It’s spring break and there is nowhere else to go so I accept the fact that they’re not going to honor the agreement. Now for the room: The door is a flimsy hollow core door secured by a knob lock that you can open with a credit card in all of two seconds. The walls are dirty, The refrigerator has food stuck to it, and the locks on the windows are broken. The air conditioner was a small window unit that was put through the wall and couldn’t really keep the room cold. The bathroom looks like it belonged in the movie Saw. The tub is dirty and chipped up, there is mold on the shower curtain, The soapdish in the shower had some of it broken off, and the spigot for the bath is missing. At this point my friend and I dubbed the place Shady Acres/Shifty Shores and decided we were going to spend as little time there as possible. The next day we are out of the room by 10:00AM and made sure not to leave anything of value behind. We put the 0please refresh the room” sign on the door and head out. We return to the room around 8:00 that evening to find the room in the exact same condition as we left it. We call it a night and get the hell out of there in the morning. This place is a dump and the only thing that it has going for it is that it’s across the street from the beach. DONOTSTAYHERE.

Keep looking! Not a safe place with all of the partying and drunk tenants in the front yard at night! After I called the police, the manager called and threaten to kick me out for bothering him while he was on a date. Apparently it’s filled with furloughed convicts most of the time. Seriously not safe for women or children.
