I love this place. If you’re trying to figure out where to get your next bike, definitely go with these guys. Their selection is great and they’ll help you pick the bike that’s perfect for you. The owner, Bill, was super helpful and very patient with me. I had a slight issue(totally my own fault) and Bill was amazing and helped me resolve it quickly. My family has been buying bikes here for years. My childhood bike was from this store so I figured I would go back for a bike that I needed to commute to work. The same exact bike I looked at in a different store(in Montclair) was cheaper at Bicycle Source, and the shopping experience was much nicer here. Oh, and they add a free kickstand and water bottle holder, one year of free service, and a lifetime warranty on the frame.(Not sure if this is the case with all of their bikes?) Bonus: There’s a big lot in the back of the store where you can test out the bike privately. Overall, I am very happy with my experience and I’m so glad I went here.

This place is awesome! It’s worth the trip to come here and get a good bike as opposed to going to a big box store and getting a mediocre bike. They have a huge selection of bikes! My son needed a new BMX bike and had very lofty ideas on what he wanted. Of course, I had a budget in mind and the guy there realized that. He helped steer my son towards a bike that fit my budget but still provide me son with a really good bike. Plus all the bikes he sells there come with a life time warranty. That’s a huge bonus in my opinion. He set the bike up for my son, filled the tires up, adjusted the seat, etc. I would highly recommend this location. This was my 3rd bike I purchased from Bicycle Source so I’m obviously happy with the service he provides.

I bought my bike and accessories last summer and just got around to writing my review now. I’d like to say the delay was because I’ve been pedaling the highways and byways of this beautiful country — but really, I’m just a little bit lazy :( I was going to buy a bike from a big box store but since I was planning on taking any bike I bought to a local bike shop to check assembly/reassemble anyway, I figured I’d check the selection and prices at the LBS(Bicycle Source) first. I’m a novice recreational cyclist and wanted a reliable but reasonably priced bike. The guys at Bicycle Source(Steve and Ryan) were so nice — I didn’t feel pressured or self-conscious of my beginner status. They found me a perfect Schwinn comfort/hybrid bike and gave me a super price(unsolicited) because it was the previous year’s model, and were exceedingly patient as I hemmed, hawed and tested the bike in the parking lot. Also included were complimentary tune-ups for the first year(I think), a discount off the other accessories I bought with the bike and a remedial class on how to install and use the car rack I’d bought. Again, I am by no means a cyclist so I can’t really speak to selection(although the store is just packed enough to appear to have a great selection of bikes, parts and accessories) while remaining neat and easy to maneuver. Everyone who helped me was knowledgeable, sufficiently low-pressure and high– patience and personable to boot. I’m happy with my purchase and my experience and glad to recommend Bicycle Source. Learn from my experience and don’t assume you’ll do better at a big-box store.

I bought a Schwinn Rocket here on the manager’s recommendation. I bring it home to find out that both discs are rubbing up against the pads, and the gears do not change properly. This, after he ranted and raved about the bike and talked me out of any other purchase. He also told me that I can split my purchase between my credit card and my visa gift car. Well, I could not. I come home to find out that the entire amount was charged to my credit card. Had that been the case I would’ve purchased a less expensive bike. Thanks for your help!

Great place! Helpful personnel! Wide variety of bikes! I would definitely recommend this place! They also service your bike for free once you purchase it there, which is a great feature to have

Fantastic place. Really nice owner, and super helpful staff. Got a great deal. Came back in for a second bike for the family. Highly recommend buying here instead of a big chain store. Better service all around.

My husband and I wanted to trade in road bikes for hybrids, but because the shop doesn’t sell Trek brand, they wouldn’t take our bikes. They did offer us some good advice on how and where to resell. On the model we wanted, they swapped out for a more comfortable seat and gave us an awesome price, and when they found that the front brake was defective on the bike we wanted(when they were fixing it up for us), they had another color version ready to go or offered to get another order in 4 days. The shop offered free service for a year, and a life-time warrantee on the frame. It was a nice laid back transaction, the guy who helped us, Ryan, was helpful and informative, and I’d definitely recommend for the average person that just wants to go on a good bike ride(i.e. someone who is not necessarily of the fanatic MAMIL– middle aged men in Lycra– persuasion).

I bought my first bike not knowing much. I found out. They didn’t either. It was the wrong size and they just wanted to get rid of a bike.

The owner had a bad attitude. I stopped in to return an item that I bought 2 months ago, never used, and had a receipt for. It was a cheap 20 dollar item. In the past, I had purchased 3 expensive bicycles from this shop. They owner refused to accept my return and sited their 7 day return policy. He had a nasty attitude as well. Bicycle source has lost my business as a result of this experience.

Bad place… Bad service… Bad selection… I stopped in here many times over the years and every time I do I wonder how they’re still in business… I will never shop here and would recommend going elsewhere… They don’t know much about road bikes, offered me incompatible parts and refused to special order the correct ones… I have a Campy equipped bike and they insisted their in stock(and low end) Shimano would work fine… Campy and Shimano are not compatible — and they didn’t know… They stock low and mid range bikes, basic service, elementary information and cater to the casual riders… I guess that’s OK if you’re shopping for your 8-year-old, but with so many other bike shops in the area who have better service and knowledge(even Sports Authority), there is no reason to shop here…
