Erebus Haunted House

Wasn’t scary at all. just walk through it and have fun. It was worth the money and the long line. It gets really hot in there also so don’t dress too warm.

The effects and makeup was really great but in all homestly, It was NOT scary. Maybe i’m just one of those people that need something grand to stir a reaction out of. Everytime something or someone came at me, i simply stared back and keep on walking. Was it worth the $ 30? Eh. Props to the workers though, they got reactions out of most people and stayed in character. The part where it’s all mirrors was the funnest.

I’ve been here many times before, and I’ve always had a great time. Tonight, however, there was a seriously rude employee by the ticket booth who actually shoved me. I got confused about how the lines worked, so I was in the wrong place and instead of asking me or telling me to move, he actually pushed me. I’m still really upset about how aggressive he was. I just feel like it was uncalled for. Im a 5 6″ 100lb girl, I’m not threatening by any means, I don’t understand why he felt it necessary to push. Not happy.

This haunted house is pretty cool! Not as scary as many have sAid but I suppose it’s personal opinion. I ordered my group of tickets online, thankfully. We still had to wait in line for about 25 minutes to get going. The line went along the outside of the building and was completely packed. We went at 1030 on a Friday night (2 weeks before Halloween) the staff working seem to know what they’re doing and the haunted house itself is very well ran! So glad we went! It’s worth going but I wouldn’t say it was the scariest one I ever been to. Terrified Forrest in Pinckney spooked me more!

I had a lot of fun in there. It was a really good experience and will go back again. Some rooms were really scary and others were funny. The actors there were really talented and stayed in character. Loved this place

It’s really nice! My dad and I came here for the halfway to Halloween and its blackout where you only have a glowstick. The workers are scary And I loved it.

SCARY AS HELL!!! Great place, huuuge haunted house, 35 minutes of fear! A must for a haunted/​scary house fan. Loved it.

I went tonight for the halfway to halloween. It was so so they didn’t have everything up and running which was fine because they did say it was without lights. The problem we had was the actors being somewhat lazy and breaking character. We found two looking at cell phones and another set just hanging out with a backstage door open chatting. Also the fact that many of them were wearing erebus hoodies ruined the aesthetic. I hope it’s better at halloween!

Erebus haunted house in Pontiac was the largest haunted house according to the Guinness book of records several years in a row. We visited a couple of years ago for the first time, and returned again in October of 2014.
The lines outside the building can get crazy, and once you’re past those there are plenty more inside. The lines outside can be somewhat circumvented by ordering tickets online ahead of time, these tickets go per time slots of 30 minutes for entry. Once inside there’ll be plenty of opportunity to warm up from the cold Michigan fall season, as others have mentioned it is awfully hot in and throughout the building.
The story line remains the same, rather vague biopic of a scientist whom invented a time traveling device. The actual ‘travel’ you’re undergoing through this massive walk-​through experience feels quite disjointed, haphazard and most definitely not chronological.
It was a little disappointing to see so many familiar things from the last time we visited. I wonder if anything at all has changed; my memory isn’t all that wonderful, but we recognized quite a bit.
During our visit the staff stayed in character, some were delightfully creepy whereas others were plain disturbing. My favorites were the spider area and the swamp area, they had some pretty cool physically, and (if you’re jumpy) mentally challenging things going on.
The cost is alright, roughly $ 25 per person for a regular adult ticket, though ticket prices vary from day to day. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are slightly more expensive. Wednesdays are family night, and visiting on the remaining days will save you a small amount of money.

I went tonight, and had a great experience. I was legitimately frightened at certain times and was impressed with design, and detail of the floors. It’s a very good haunted house for the price. I also got $ 3 off each ticket because of the promo code in the Fear Finder newspaper.

Good times with old friends. Would prefer it moves location.

Relatively professional setup with more potential than what currently exists.
The story is vague at best. The actors spend too much time telling you where to go and asking how many are in your group instead of scaring you, which is probably the reason you’re there.
Good ideas, definitely, but could be so much more!

Terrible experience.
I spent $ 45 on one VIP ticket. BIGGEST waste of money on any haunted house.
The special effects are mediocre, the workers are rude and touchy, it is RIDICULOUSLY hot, and overall not scary.
I expected more jump scares if the workers were not so LAZY and breaking character the whole time. It was obvious that they hate their job.
Regular customers wait 2 hours outside the building and another hour inside the attraction waiting for something scary to pop out. Nothing.
I’m the type to get scared easily too! This says a lot!
Erebus gets so much hype because of its size but the experience is so unsatisfying that I fainted from boredom rather than fear. Biggest waste of time and money.

The illusions were horrible and a portion of the workers kept breaking characters, waste of $ 28

Has some great special effects, takes about 45 minutes to walk through. If you’re one of the first 200 people in for the night you get a free t-​shirt and the line is shorter.

This place was great. What a huge investment, and I think it’s paying off. You spend at least 30 min going through it. I am not usually a wimp but towards the end I was a little out of breath and sweaty lol. Creepy small clown was the best/​worst. Get there early and you don’t wait in line or have a bunch of other groups ruining your scares :)

Erebus is great and strange place as haunt house for halloween, the decorations, the costumes of the people and sound effects make you feel in thrill movie, its fright full for kids and teenage and funny with little scary for elder, any way it was funny experience, I enjoyed to be there, but the line was so long to get in specially saturday nights, at the end it was a good night

First, it was not as scary as everyone says it is. The good thing is it’s long, took us 30 minutes to walk through, so I didn’t feel like I totally wasted my money. There wasn’t really anything super scary not many gooles and goblins jumping out, a lot of automatic/​stationery stuff. I won’t be driving the 45 minutes to go back to Erebus anytime soon.

My how I LOVE Erebus. I went a ridiculous amount of times last year (I just cannot resist when I see the skylights!).
Best haunt in Michigan, easily.
The High Tech Scares are fascinating. Acting is increasingly better every year. Make-​Up is the best in all of Michigan. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Lots of Fun. Can’t wait to go back!
