Louisiana creole cuisine in small town Mississippi. Place is very small and seating is limited so get there early. I had a wonderful lunch of seafood gumbo and shrimp & grits. Some of the best creole food I’ve had this side of Louisiana. Service was exceptional! Definitely will be back!

The Eggplant Napoleon is by far my favorite, to the extent that I don’t even want to try anything different. However, when I do, I find that each offering is prepared just as well and tastes exactly as one would expect. The Louisiana slant, done by the New Orleans trained chef, is something different for our area. This restaurant is highly recommended by me.

Nice restaurant, though small. Surprisingly deep menu with a lot of flavors. I enjoyed a creole special recently and would like to see it on the menu as a regular item. There is also a great blackened salmon dish. Boondocks does a really nice job with seafood, so I would recommend anything with fish or shrimp in it. Desserts are good too. Servers are pleasant and attentive and appear to be overseen by an exceptionally courteous manager who very much fits the mold of the Southern gentlemen. I believe his name is Mr. Pope, but I could have misunderstood. At any rate, he is an asset to the business. I have visited this restaurant about half a dozen times, and every single time, food was prepared perfectly and precisely as described in the menu. Presentation was quite nice in all cases. The only drawbacks that I can name are the size of the place(it’s a little crowded and tables are close together) and the fact that a seat near the door/front windows in cooler weather means that you’re going to be pretty chilly throughout your meal, because that door opens and closes constantly with a combination of dine-in customers and carryout orders. Still, I would say that this is the best restaurant in Pontotoc.
