My husband and I had a certificate to use. We were trying to decide on a place near where he is employed. Being unfamiliar with the area, we finally decided to give Port 151 a chance. When we first walked in, we were second guessing our choice. However, that all turned around upon receiving our calamari appetizer. Unlike most places, we were not served what my husband calls(bait squid). For our entrees I ordered the black and blue tuna and my husband the black and blue crab cakes. Both were far better than we had anticipated! The service was great too! Our glasses were never empty! The staff worked very well as a team to take care of all customers. Compliments to the chef! We will definitely be back again. The only negative, was the lack of beer choices.

Went here with my boyfriend last month because we had a gift certificate. I had the steamed shrimp and they were very good. My boyfriend had baked fish, flounder I think, and it was terrible. It was all mushy and flavorless. He sent it back and asked for friend fish. When it arrived it looked pretty on the outside, but when we broke open the breading it was like fish pudding inside, all mushy and soft. Fish should flake apart, not look like pudding! Hushpuppies were tasteless too. The best thing about the restaurant was the fast and friendly service. Our poor waitress was pretty upset that my boyfriend wouldn’t eat his fish. I think the atmosphere inside was pretty generic, but looked like they’d have a nice view outside(but we were there on a day with bad weather, so we didn’t go out). If you go to Port 151, I recommend the steamed shrimp but not much else!

We chose this restaurant from reviews we’d read online and were glad that we did. We were there on the first Sunday that they were open in I think three years. I’m sure we took them off guard being a party of 14. But the owner Pat greeted us warmly and told us that they were short staffed but he would do his best. His daughter came in to help and they both made our visit a wonderful experience. The food was very good, the atmosphere friendly /casual and the service although short staffed was better than some fully staffed restaurants I’ve visited. Everything that we ordered was delicious, the shrimp Po-Boy was overflowing with shrimp and very tasty. I will definitely visit them again when I’m in town. It’s well worth a trip.

While in Poquoson, do as the Poquosonense do? Guessing locals knew what’s up, stopped in for lunch, had seen the signs and it always looks busy, but not crowded. Entering, I knew why. This place is huge! Probably seats 65 – 70 inside and another 20 on the deck and pool room. Pictures don’t do it justice, but the waterside(or pondside) deck looked like a good landing spot if it wasn’t sunny and 85 degrees out. We opted inside. Pleasant service, we were greeted quickly and informed us of the lunch specials, the server was quite knowledgeable about the menu and it’s preparation. Craving seafood, we opted for the Buffalo Shrimp app. Soon a steaming pile of hand breaded shrimp in a buffalo sauce appeared. One bite and my dining companion knew where do head: Shrimp Po’Boy. I am apprehensive about ordering Po’Boys much north of Lake Pontchartrain, but after the pile of shrimp in the appetizer, didn’t really want to waste food ordering a full entrée. Oyster Po’Boy was my decision. Sweet tea was a solid accompaniment, quickly filled whenever the glass reached the half empty(or was it half full?) level. Now I know you are wondering, how did he know the shrimp were hand breaded? I saw the chef pouring the flour and dipping them himself. Soon we were staring at a Po’Boy«dressed» as they say in the land of Po’Boys. Crispy oysters in a light tempura batter allowed the flavor and texture of the oysters to come through, while still maintaining the crunchy decadence of the fried batter. Talking to the staff, we learned of the owners(who was the man behind the line) pedigree in all things seafood: he learned the language in the kitchen of the once outstanding restaurant, Blue Pete’s of Pungo. Fast, efficient, high quality food for a fraction of what it would be offered in a fine dining establishment= 5 stars from me. We’ll be back!

Decided to check out this little local joint. We are still searching for a good seafood place… Food was just ok. As another review noted, much of it is fried. I will have to say the hush puppies were delicious. Everything else was just ok. They do have a couple tables out back which was a pleasant place to sit. But people came back tree to smoke, which was a little annoying while we were eating. Would be a good place to take kids. Nothing fancy.

Nice pleasant and charming place in the middle if no where. The good was pretty good. My wife had the hamburger steak and it was cooked to perfection with a slight bright pink line in the middle and a flavorful gravy.(Medium well). I had the flounder basket witch wasn’t the worst nor the best and the fries were golden crisp with a little chew

I was disappointed to find that this was NOT a raw bar, as listed in some search engines. They serve primarily fried seafood & standard lunch fare. We ordered the Shrimp Ceasar salad, Scallop appetizer & Tuna bites. I had to ask for an extra bowl of plain lettuce, b/c the salad was way over dressed. The scallops were very good, and perfectly cooked. The seasoning on the tuna was overpowering, but it wasn’t overcooked, which I liked. an ok place, but I doubt that we’ll be back.

Nice little seafood place on the corner of Wythe Creek road and Cary’s Chapel road. Mostly fried food, but fresh with quick, friendly service. Try the seafood baskets – the shrimp and scallop baskets are my favorites. Great place for lunch or after work dinner and beer.
