So… I had to go to the Baton Rouge area on Sunday for work… Because I was actually working in Port Allen I looked for a hotel near the facility I was working… Using I booked a room at Comfort Suites. I checked in and went to the room… Hotel was nice and the room was huge and very clean. Everything was fine except one major thing… I needed internet service… I tried to connect to their wifi but was unable to. I went down to the front desk and young lady was very helpful but we could not resolve the problem. I wasn’t in the room for an HOUR… I asked to be refunded because I needed internet access and they could not fix the problem… She said she wouldn’t charge me… GUESSWHAT… They charged me and refused to refund my money. Charged me for a room I NEVERUSED!!! I only booked it with through , I paid the hotel. I walked through the parking lot and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with ZERO internet issues and the hotel and room was even nicer! So when driving through the Baton Rouge area, DONOTSTAYATCOMFORTSUITESINPORTALLEN, LA.

I am really upset with this hotel. My husband stayed there for work and one of the maid stole money from his room. After my husband reported his money missing, the maid accused him of harassment which he did not do. The manager didn’t even investigate it. I think both manager and maid should be fired for this. Never ever again will we stay in that hotel.

Not Quiet So Comfy in Port Allen, LA 1)Location — The weekend I stayed at this hotel, the national bowling tournament was using the hotel. I knew this when I booked, but I didn’t have a problem securing a room at least a month ahead of time. By the time I reached the hotel(about 4 in the afternoon), I was told that my room was right next to the elevator, the breakfast area, and the hotel laundry room. When I asked the front desk if this was a problem they said, «We are fully booked.» Translation: You are SOL. After all of my Customer Service training, I would have at least said, «I’m sorry, but we are fully booked and I’m not sure if I can change your room. Please let me know if you have any problems and I will be sure to let my manager know about them.» At least this way, it would at least sound like the hotel cared about the customer’s experience. Yes, the noise outside my room severely interfered with my ability to sleep each night. I turned up my iPod to full blast and used a night mask to cover my face, but that could not drown out the noise of the elevator, slamming laundry room doors, the blasting TV in the breakfast area(which contained over ripe fruit), and general conversation noise I could hear outside the room. Needless to say, I did not sleep well the three nights I stayed here. 2)The Room — The Devil is in the Details a. There were no lids for the coffee cups that were given in the room. When I inquired about this, I was told that there were lids for the cups in the breakfast area. Well, sure but, those are completely different cups and those were Styrofoam which are TOXIC and can’t be recycled! In most hotels, they provide the same sized cups in both rooms and eating areas with lids that can be recycled! b. There were no firm/foam pillows. When I called the front desk to ask for a foam/firm pillow, I was simply turned down. There was no other option than what was available in the room. Therefore, my neck was cramped for the next few days and my chiropractor got a bonus when I returned home. Once again, no effort to help the customer. I would have said, «I’m sorry, no we don’t have anything else at this time. I will let my manager know that this is a great suggestion for the future.» c. There was mold along the floor/border in the closet area. It was very obvious that mold was a problem in this hotel(as it is in the south), but most places comply with health standards and clean up. It was absolutely disgusting to see mold on the walls! d. The closet area was completely open. It would have been better to include a door to increase the sense of guest privacy. My undies were right in the open! It could have had an floor length mirror on the closet door and then the guest could look at his/her outfit from the front/back. 3)The Bathroom — safety and hygiene concerns a. The tub did not include any kind of traction/friction option for safety concerns. I could tell that the tub had marks/stains where a mat used to be. I would rather a mat be there to catch me when the tub was slick with any kind of soap. If I was particularly klutzy, older, or a small child I would have injured myself in the tub! When I called the front desk about this concern, they simply said they had no rubber mat or other option. Once again, no effort to help the customer. I would have said, «I’m sorry, no we don’t have any mats at this time. I will let my manager know that this is a great suggestion.» b. The shower curtain was too short for the height of the tub. It was nice to have a fabric shower curtain, but it was at least 3 – 5 inches too short. The first time I used the shower, there was a huge pool of water that collected at the base of the tub because the curtain had bowed out and water spilled over the edge of the tub. I had to waste at least three towels to clean up the mess! Of course, this in turn wasted water and the work the maids had to do to clean up the mess; not to mention the slipping hazard that it caused! When I called the front desk about the problem, again, there was nothing they could do. Did they not test the curtains before they were ordered?! The two tiny magnets on each end do not compensate for the height/depth into the tub itself. c. The toilet constantly ran and then clogged. The toilet never stopped running, but it did not overflow. The first morning I used the toilet, it clogged. I have never had this happen in ANY other hotel I have been in. Fortunately, the front desk did send in someone ASAP and it was unclogged. However, it never stopped running. It was very questionable/annoying. d. Bathroom ceiling looked waterlogged and patched. e. There was no fan in the bathroom area.
