I’ve Been a customer since I was in my teens, I’m now in my 40’s and although I don’t frequent like I used to. It still has the same feeling it did when pbn was on laurel and I’d read Thrasher Transworld and maximum Rock and Roll while it was raining and I was waiting for the bus home. Damn…I think I’ll head there now.

This downtown bookstore is a highlight of Port Angeles and should not be missed if you are in the area. The independent shop has a good selection of books, quite a few of which are used, and a very friendly and helpful owner. The store is also quite comfortable and is a pleasant place to pass some time while you browse. Highly recommended.

An absolute delight of a bookstore and one of the highlights of my recent visit to Port Angeles. I found a book in the«staff pics» section(one of my favorite features of any bookstore!) that was recommended by the owner, Alan. I took it home, read it, and promptly returned to purchase everything else he had by the same author. Alan was friendly, knowledgable, and welcoming — I will return for another item off his recommended reading list every time I am in town!

Best book store in town! Locally own and operated. They have a nice selection of book, board games, and puzzles, and some books on audio. If you cannot find what you are looking for they can special order it for you, if available, at no extra cost to you. Great customer service. A nice place to browse and enjoy yourself.

My husband was looking for a really obscure Chinese chess game, and as we were walking by this place, we saw it sitting in the window. What are the odds?! Anywho, they’ve got a great selection of relevant books, not a lot of pulp which is fantastic. Kids’ section was fun and they had a bunch of titles I remember from my own childhood. Also have a neat display and collection of music box«engines» I used to pull out of my old music boxes. They have them available in all sorts of tunes. How kitschy and neat!

Sleeper gem that’s hosted authors & artists for two decades, including Ray Troll, William Dietrich, Eric Olsen, Tess Gallagher, Jim Nance, David Sedaris and many more. Alan & Cindy nourish our town’s culture.

Stopped in for literally 3 minutes because they were closing early to sell books at the David Sedaris event at the high school. Reminded me a lot of Elliot Bay Bookstore in Seattle. Smallish with lots of little gifty type items(aka junk you don’t need but want to buy anyway so you justify it by giving it away to someone else). Cute store, clean, and employees seemed friendly enough.

This is an excellent little bookstore, perfect for browsing when you’re not sure what you want. Used books are shelved with new books, but note that the prices in used books are on the high side. They have a great loyalty club — they put your name in the computer and when you’ve bought a dozen books you get one free.

The book selection IS good — great in fact. The customer service STINKS! I walked up to the counter to buy a book and the lady goes on about how much of an idiot Sarah Palin is and I was offended! I told her that I thought she was rather brilliant and I liked her… it got awkward. I’d rather buy books on ebay than deal with those people.

Indy booksellers, woot! Full of a wide variety of new and used books, lots of magazines, oddball papers, and neat, eccentric employees, this was an exceptionally charming little place to waste some time in. It warms my poor, consumerism clogged heart to see places like this still standing. Kudos to the proprietors and the residents of Port Angeles for keeping this place afloat.

Independent bookstores are the bomb! While I do frequent larger bookstores, it’s nice to visit one that isn’t cookie-cutter. They carry bestsellers and local interest. Used and new books are side-by-side and there is a pretty decent magazine selection. The people working there smiled at us when we came inside and let us browse a few moments before checking on us. For fun: They post a «this day in history» on a board outside their store. *cough* This is considered the bookstore«Bella» visited in the Twilight series.

Yay! I’m a fan. I dropped in the other day to kill some time while waiting for the Ferry and I picked up a copy of Last Night at the Lobster, a book I’d looked for at least at two other bookstores. Thanks to Port Angeles Books & News i had something to read while crossing over into the Great White North while on the Coho.

Good selection of new and used books as well as magazines. Open earlier and later than most businesses of its type. In my mind the best book store on the Olympic Peninsula.

I love independent book stores, and this is no exception. Great variety of current national bestsellers as well as local area books and magazines. The great thing about this bookstore is that new and used book are all stocked together on their bookshelves. I found a book I really wanted and then found a used copy tucked away. I thought $ 7.50 for a used paperback is slightly pricey, but I’m glad to support the local Port Angeles bookstore.
