Excellent stay. I had no problems with it but we had a late check in because they were cleaning for a long time. The beds are very nice, great hot shower, TV, and excellent location, very close to the beach. I recommend this location to everyone because it has a great location, right in the«old town» area.

A friend of mine is in a financial situation and was looking to find a place to stay with his dog and came to Alister Square Inn. He was quickly turned away because they«don’t serve people like him». This is extremely discriminatory and I am extremely upset that they would deny someone willing to pay the money. He is such a kind soul and to be denied a place to sleep because of appearance is uncalled for. Shame on you, Alister Square Inn.

Got stuck with this hotel because we booked last minute and no other places had vacancy. PROS: The location is good if you wanna be close to town. Outside of the building is pretty nice. Good water pressure in the shower and hot water. The prices are low as well for the summer. Parking is okay, just a little tight. Nice televisions in the room and cold AC. CONS: Had typical outdated bed comforters that aren’t that comfy. The floors were extremely slick and sticky, which I hope was only from the humidity. The«free wifi» was nonexistent and when we told the lady at the front desk, she just said«the wifi on the island is bad.» That cannot be true because I’ve stayed at many places that have great wifi. Also, during our stay we were told the pool was closed because someone’s dog had an accident in it, but it opened the next day and was very nice. Last, but not least, the noise is soooooo BAD if you’re downstairs. It sounds like the people are going to fall through the ceiling. Overall, I guess it would be ok for just a night or two, but definitely needs improvement.

We have stayed at this establishment 3 times in the last year and our most recent stay will be our final visit. To start with, the entire room reeked of old urine and the people above us kept us up until 1 am and then woke us again at 4:30 am with their excessive noise(it sounded like they were moving the furniture and yelling). At approximately 8 am a couple opened our door using a key card, despite the fact that our room was supposedly locked from the inside. Safety warning! — The deadbolt lock is overridden when the door handle is turned from the outside! Renee — the assistant manager on duty — told us that this was a, «complete mystery, because I haven’t issued any new key cards recently» and went about re-coding our key cards. Renee also said«don’t worry about the noisy people above you because they are checking out today.» Unfortunately, around 2pm, at least 7 people(5+ adults and two small children) checked in to the room above us, making excessive noise and yelling profanities from the balcony into their room. To make matters worse, on Saturday morning our son was trying to take a timed online exam but the Wi-fi disconnected a few minutes into the exam. When David went to the office to complain, Renee — the assistant manager on duty — insisted that they were not having any problems with the Internet, after checking the front desk computer which he pointed out was wired directly into the server. It wasn’t until he showed her a second remote device —(iPad) that clearly showed there was no internet connection available — did she say that the router would be reset which only temporarily resolved the connectivity issue. When I came into the office and told her about the new guests above our room asking for a different room, I was told that none were available. This was a flat out lie because I witnessed 3 more separate groups of people checking in after voicing our room change request. We were then offered a refund for 5⁄2 if we chose to check out, however once again, the Wifi was unavailable and we had to go somewhere else to make other arrangements. When we did finally check out around 3 pm, your staff refused to refund our first night’s stay because according to the Manager, «we already stayed the whole night on Friday» — of which we got less than 4 hours of sleep. On our previous 2 stays, we rented 2 rooms — units 122 and 124 — and were quite pleased with the accommodations, but for this last stay, we were so stressed out and frustrated that we simply had to leave prior to our scheduled check out date. The management is completely incompetent and uncaring but if you are coming to Port A looking to party and stay up all night, this is the place for you.

I was referred to this Hotel by a local who raved about the spacious King suite rooms. For Sandfest this year we decided to give it a whirl for a couple nights. WOW! Everything they raved about was spot on! Our room had a powerful shower! Giant King room with fully equipped kitchen & flat screen! Very clean, nice size fenced in pool, friendly professional staff & great building located right in town! The parking lot surrounded by a giant fence. Very safe ;) Everything was well taken care of at this hotel for it being so close to the ocean. It had fresh paint everywhere & everything was in working order. There was even this cute little bbq/cleaning table built under the outdoor stair case to the second floor that you could bbq on or wash off your sandy chairs, shoes etc., from the beach. Hubby & I loved everything about this little hotel :)) It was quite expensive for Sandfest but the normal rates are under $ 100 a night! WOW! I already rented a House for our November Holiday but I’m sure I can find a few days off between now & then to return to this little gem! Alister Square Inn you Rock! We can’t wait to return! :)) Highly recommend!

Bad room & after staying three nights I now understand the pricing, unfortunately. First issue was, I informed the front desk(within the first 20 min of dropping my bags in the room) the lights between the twin beds didn’t work, several outlets in the room didn’t work(including those near the beds), the toilet seal was broken allowing the toilet to «rock back and forth» while seated. THEYDIDNTEVENATTEMPTTOMOVEMEORFIXANYTHING, should have taken heed that is how the long weekend was gonna be here… There is a Nice enough staff, but I was unable to sleep past 7:30am with all the NOISE each morning. The first night I was woken several times by the couple above my room and I called the desk about the stomping and dropping of items above me, twice, with little to no results. The next morning I left my room by 8:30am & the maids NEVERCLEANEDMYROOM!!! Third morning(after flounder fishing until 2:30 am) I was woken by hammering in the room above me at 7:25am followed by the maid above me(stomping with lead feet) for the next hour plus. I never would have imagined it would take so long to clean a small hotel room, but I could actually hear the vacuume cleaner motor through the floor above me it is SOTHIN. I even called the front desk again and asked them to do something so I could sleep for a few good hrs, nothing changed in two hours so I left, for good this time. Summary: this hotel is VERYCHEPLY built And I will NOT be staying there again. There are several other dog friendly options, closer To the beach.

Stayed here one night to see a band at the Tarpon Ice House, so I barely saw the room(left at 9pm and stayed out all night with the band). It was clean, the staff was friendly, and booking/checkin & out was a breeze. Recommended for a budget or quick stay. TIP: Call for reservations — it’s the easiest, and you might get a deal.
