If you want a fun variety of kites for reasonavle prices, go here! I’ve never seen so many different kites, windspinners, and stunt kites in one spot before! Also, if you break a kite, he can fix it! I’d visit again any day.

Want to buy a kite for your stay in Port A? Definitely drive the extra block to get one at Fly It, rather than one of the cheap tourist traps. They have kites for every budget and need, and the owner makes great recommendations about which will work best for you!

Love this place! Even if you didn’t really think you wanted a kite, you will after you walk in here. These are quality kites. They have easy beginner kites, advanced trick kites, windsocks, all kinds of awesome stuff. Variety of price ranges too. We went in for a trick kite and weren’t disappointed. They have a great selection and my son picked out a design he liked. The owner went over how to assemble the kite, how to set it up for flight, how to control it and what to do when we crashed it. So helpful! We took it out the next day and had so much fun with it! This is fun for all ages, even my teenage son had a blast! You should definitely stop by and pick one up for your stay! You won’t regret it.

Always wonderful. I have been coming here for years and always find something delightful. Sometimes it’s a kite for the beach or a windsock for the garden back home. This year it was stocking stuffers for Christmas. But I always find something.

This place is awesome. My husband and I stopped by because we wanted a kite to fly on the beach like all the cool kids. As we started looking around there were almost too many kites to choose from! Eventually we decided on a shark shaped kite and headed up to the nice older man at the register. We talked to him about the weather a bit and he said it should clear up that afternoon and we’d be able to fly it. He also did a brief explanation on how to put it together. Later on when we were at the beach one of the first things we did was to get it flying. It was a lot of fun seeing how high we could get it and having it sail in the breeze while we took in the beautiful view of the waves. We will definitely be going back next time we’re down there to pick up another one to add to our collection.

Where a kid can be a kid! Wait, hold up… that was/is Toys R Us, right? Update: I was notified by a Sasquatch that is semi literate that the slogan above is actually for Chuck E Cheese, and not Toys R Us. You know what? I don’t care, this is my gotdam review and I will write whatever I dam well please. Apparently, the Toys R Us is: I don’t wanna grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid. Whatever, *twirls finger in the air* Are you happy now, Sasquatch? HAPPYHAPPYHAPPY!!! *breathing exercises* ok, back to the review… It definitely applies here. I paid a visit, like Amanda B, more out of curiosity than anything else and left with a kite, a brand new yo yo, and some wind chimes that are a gift. You can and will find anything you want here, from the very basic kite to a beast designed for experts and everything in between. Want a kite that looks like a P51 Mustang? Got it. What’s that? A paper airplane kite complete with lines from the yellow paper? Check. A dragon? Yes. A skull and crossbones? Yes. Your limit is your imagination. They are also heavily stocked with windsocks, a vast array of flags, books, and lots of other stuff that will have you smiling from ear to ear. Ralph is very friendly and will offer you many tips and advice on how to enjoy your new kite and will make recommendations to make it that much more fun. PS, say hi to Pearl while you are there! oh, and then head over to Snoopy’s for some fried shrimpS…

We go in every time we are at Port A to pick up a new kite or other toy for playing at the beach. The owner always has a great selection of kites, discs, darts, and things that fly and buzz. Lots and lots of fun! Everyone should stop by when they are in Port A!

What an interesting place. So many options to choose from! The owner had tons of tips and suggestions and his collection of unique kites, pictures and stories were something that made the experience that much more fun. I walked in just curious and walked out excited to play with my brand new kite! PS. In normal circumstances, I wouldn’t be able to fly a kite for the life of me. But out on the beach, it took little to no effort to get it up and soaring in the air. Don’t let past failed attempts keep you from flying on the beach.

When you visit Port Aransas for a weekend on the beach, you will miss out on something special if you don’t stop in at «Fly It Port-A.» This is a full-spectrum kite shop. They have basic kites for beginners all the way up to competition stunt kites and stuff that’ll pick you up off the ground and carry you a ways. And then they have wind socks for people who just don’t want the hassle of strings, running around, and all that jazz. It’s a great place to shop for gifts. The prices are beyond affordable for any budget. The thing that really caught my attention at «Fly It Port-A» was the owner, Wayne. The moment you walk in the shop, you realize you’ve entered an enthusiast’s den. This collection of products has been curated by a true enthusiast. This isn’t some dumb Port Aransas tourist shop touting 5 beach towels for $ 20. This is an enterprise fueled by a spirited passion for flying kites– and that passion is infectious.

All your kite and wind décor needs. He helped me find a replacement part that I couldn’t find online. I didn’t have my kite and he had the same one in stock to give him a true comparison of the parts he had to the actual. He also has used all these kites and cared about the hobby and the customers. We chatted a bit and exchanged kite stories and experiences.
