Had a great stay on my 2-​Day getaway. Hotel is located .5miles away from the beach. The staff was very welcoming and polite. Each day they gave us recommendation on what to eat and where to go fishing. The area they suggested to go fishing was awesome (Charlie’s Pastures) right behind the Valero once you get off the ferry, there is a small road that leads to a pier. Overall, our stay was nice.

Very nice property! Two weary business travelers checked in here recently, following a long day on the road in chilly rain and wind. We had king suites and were very pleased with the accommodations. The rooms were extremely spacious, clean, well-​appointed and WARM! Staff was friendly and very helpful.
All in all, a most pleasant stay.

You can’t beat this place for the money. Very clean, excellent and friendly staff. Good breakfast included. The rooms were very nice and quiet. We has unattended children running down the hall and the front desk took care of the noise problem immediacy. They are very close to the beach… just a short drive. We will definitely go back.

We stayed here during our recent visit to Padre Island National Seashore. Really great stay overall. I had to deduct points due to the fact that the person who was working the front desk when we checked in that evening wasn’t very informative. I had to ask her questions about check out time, when breakfast was served and what time the pool closed. Things that should have been told to us instead of having to ask. Another small gripe is there being no meat option for the breakfast buffet like bacon or sausage. Still a very nice hotel. Free wifi! The jacuzzi and pool were very awesome after a lot of walking

We came to Port A on a last minute trip and therefore we had to find a room last minute. Since we hadn’t visited in awhile this place was new to us and looked nice. The price was on par with the others places around but offered a Military rate which brought our price down a substantial amount. We were very pleased with the room as far as comfort and cleanliness, which are at the top of the list of important hotel offerings for us. You also cannot beat the free breakfast which was pretty decent and enough to get us going on to our beach adventures! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The only negative I could give would be that the pool is rather small and should include a shower. I saw multiple guests jumping in full of sand and even one guest cleaning off their boogie boards in the pool water. Perhaps that’s less of a hotel negative and more of a disrespectful guest issue but a shower may help deter this at least a little bit.

Great place to stay for a night before our condo was available.

Good location, very close to the beach and virtually everything I wanted to go to is on the same main road! After coming from the Tremont House in Galveston, which was very impressive, the Hampton Inn was refreshing and I very much enjoyed my stay here.
The rooms offered everything I wanted and needed. Comfy bed, working air con, clean bathrooms, fridge, TV, coffee maker, and microwave.
Free breakfast was fantastic. Good selection, freshly made. I love the fact that we didn’t have to leave the room to grab our first meal of the day. It is definitely something I’ll look for when choosing hotels in the future.
We didn’t get a chance to use the pool, but we were on the beach… soooo ya.
Friendly service and they have tons of little fliers and brochures next to the elevators if you need ideas on what to do. I’d stay here again without hesitation.

This four-​story Hampton Inn is located near beach access road 1A and 361. It must be fairly new, since the location shows in Google Maps as an empty lot as of 6÷10÷2014.
The hotel has a golf cart rental across the street, a gas station/​mini-​mart next to it, and Kody’s is a 2-​minute walk.
The hotel is not large, but has four floors. The breakfast area is a good size and breakfast was always fully stocked and delicious.
Two treadmills, an elliptical, a stationary bike, and dumbbells are available to guests in the small gym. The Hampton also has a small outdoor pool and Jacuzzi with a 10pm closing time.
The room had comfy beds with a large walk-​in shower (no tub). We also had a flat-​screen TV, microwave, and the small fridge was nice to store waters in for the next day at the beach.
Our only problem was that shampoo and toilet paper were not well stocked after the room was cleaned. The front desk was very accommodating when we asked for the items there.
Although not in the heart of Port A, this Hampton is still only a 2 minute drive from anything on the island. Recommended.
