POPSICLE TOES-PORT ARANSAS

My family and I go to Port Aransas every year for Thanksgiving. My cousin and I came across this store last year and decided to get toe rings. We haven’t taken out rings off since last year! And now we’re back for more! Hope to get toe rings every year during Thanksgiving. Love this place. Also the toe rings are very comfortable.

How and why this place keeps business is beyond me! After being directed to look at the options of toe rings and fill out this lengthy form we were quickly (maybe 2 minutes had passed) asked (by the same person who told us to fill out said form) «how much longer do you think you are going to take?» Now, the form you have to fill out is about each toe ring you would like to try. Q1: Name of Ring, Q2: Foot Right/​Left, Q3: Price, Q4: Quantity.
There were maybe 20 ring options and the lowest price was $ 20.00 for one ring. The others were above $ 30.00 at least. Now, there is no custom going on anywhere near this shop. The closest to custom was the stupid form I had to stand and fill out while sweating in this cramped little closet of a store.
I have been to a custom toe ring shop in California and they treated you like a customer should be treated. They sit you down in a nice cozy plush chair, offer wine, and massage your feet while getting to know you. They measure your toes and ask you questions like gold, silver, platinum, rose gold, etc. if you like certain shapes, flashy, plain, stones, pearls, etc. Then they bring a few trays out to start with for you to point out what interests you. From there they start fitting rings on your toes, making suggestions and working with you to make sure you are happy. It was the funnest thing I have experienced in a long time. Well slap me and call me crazy when I got so excited to see the cutest little store in Port A offering a similar experience. I had to go! Nothing about these two places were similar except for one… They had two chairs! Lawn chairs… I rest my case.

I still can’t figure out how this woman stays in business for so many years! She’s got us all scratching our heads wondering why she had to be so angry. She has this adorable little shop called Popsicle toes you would think that would make somebody happy especially being in Port Aransas near the ocean. We expected to be met with cheerfulness because it seemed like the kind of store really a cool, laid back person would own, I mean how stressful can making toe rings for tourists be? Upon entering the store we were met with a frown the moment my son open his mouth and then «don’t touch that, don’t touch this» type panic.
My daughter her friend and myself each picked out a toe ring, they were anywhere from $ 30-​$ 37 each and they’re supposed to be custom fit.
So, she tells my daughters friend who is 12 years old that it doesn’t fit her toe and «she can either take it off and put in a plastic bag when she goes in the water or not get it» She told me «yours won’t fit properly because the shape of your toe» basically excuses why they weren’t custom like she claimed on her sign. They came right out of a drawer, no customization. Her tone was sharp and disgruntled. She didn’t smile or greet us or ask if she could help us or make any type of conversation. She treated us with an attitude that made us feel like we were bothering her by our very presence in the store. She came chasing after us after we left spending almost $ 80 and accuse my son of breaking a couple of her cheap bracelets and since he is a mischievous 13-​year-​old we profusely apologized and being a business owner I know that’s just the cost of doing business. He didn’t break anything. He only pulled a magnetic apart and it went right back together. Kids break expensive merchandise is our store and we smile and chalk it off. Bottom line, she was not just unfriendly she was out right rude and the three kids with me said she was «mean toe ring lady.» She needs I go to the beach and have a margarita and reexamine her attitude.

Very nice place, bought two toe rings. And A ankle bracelet… Will be going back.

The name of the store drew me in! I went on Tuesday, but she was closed, so I went back Wednesday, and I’m so glad I did! I found a thin silver toe ring that was simple, but I fell in love with. I was seated in a sizing chair, where the owner sized me for the perfect fit. I’d recommend this cute shop to everyone!
