If you want a fast slick food chain store don’t go to Kathy’s Catering/​Caribbean food. This is more like a trip to Haiti. This place offers Haitian food prepared by Haitians for Haitians. We had delicious fried pork and turkey plus incredible plantains and flavorful beans and rice and of course real Pickliz which is spicy hot Haitian coleslaw. They also offer conch and snapper but we passed due to financial concerns. Truly the beans and rice alone are worth the trip. The owner’s dad greeted us and waited on us and chatted with us about Haiti. We were the only ones there and it was wonderful. Surprises abound in port Charlotte and this is a nice one.
