It is always difficult to choose between the amazing ribs and their delicious burgers. They have the best bacon cheese burgers in town– loaded with thin onion rings and a creamy sauce. I don’t think many know how wonderful their burgers are! Also fabulous is the onion soup, their corn bread and the banana pudding. Everything is uniquely and deliciously made.

Food was great, but our waitress was bone dry and very bland. Didn’t crack a smile the whole time we were there. Had the quarter dark fried chicken platter with fries and Cole slaw for $ 8.99 The chicken was very juicy inside and had a nice crunch outside. The sweet cole slaw is the best I’ve had, bar none! Great food, good prices, mediocre customer service.

Pretty good bbq for Florida. I’m not sure why but there isn’t much for good bbq in Florida, let alone in port Charlotte, we saw the pics and decided to give it a shot after being disappointed by Sonny’s BBQ several days earlier. We were all happy with our food, the wings were great and all the pulled pork sandwiches were awesome. I’d definitely go back.

«I’m so glad it’s over» — direct quote after walking out of Wally’s this evening. We went based on the great Unilocal reviews and all things considering, the food was ok. Service was pretty bad; I think the staff was overwhelmed by the busy Sunday night traffic. After a long wait, our meals arrived. I had ordered the beef brisket platter with the twice baked potato and the corn on the cob, which was both smoked and roasted. My husband also had the corn on the cob with his pulled pork platter and a side of Mac and cheese. About half of my brisket was pure fat… not my style. The other half was pretty great though. I would consider the twice baked potato to be over hyped. The corn on the cob was dried out and tough. We actually both traded in our corn for other sides and we’re pleased with the hush puppies and green bean dishes we opted for instead. 3 stars because the experience was pretty terrible and the food was just average.

Wally Southern Style BBQ, Tamiami Trl, Port Charlotte, Fl, Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. I took home a combo meal for 20 bucks, I got hotlinks, polish sausage, and brisket. Sides of spicy cole slaw and green beans. The best part was the toasted bread. The cole slaw was just housemade with cayenne pepper added to the slaw. not very impress. The green bean were what I expected not too bad. A bigger portion would be nice. One thing that was missing which I did not think I would have to ask for was BBQ sauce. NONEZIP. I figure they would give me some without asking. Polish sausage was ok, hot links not very hot. Beef brisket, they need to go to Texas and learn how it is done. I went here because a number of folks said it was good. But I am thinking this must be maybe the only one in Port Charlotte. Then again my experience here in SWFL(5 years) I have come to realize most folks are not very adventurous. They do not seem to know or wish to experience good cuisine. I guess I will stick to The Cape/Fort Myers BBQ. I have found 4 – 6 good ones. Plus one that was listed in tripadvisor as outstanding this year. If I offend someone so be it. I am spoiled as a 35 years foodie and self taught cook from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. But a chef/cook needs to get out of their comfort zone and do it right.

Plenty of food and Jessica was a fabulous server! She pointed us to the perfect choices-wonderful ribs and brisket for my husband and fried chicken for me! Fresh green beans with bacon-good! People next to us got fried green tomatoes that looked good too.

Went to Wally’s for a late lunch and ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and a blueberry cobbler for desert. The sandwich was loaded with meat… not good meat. The brisket had no discernible BBQ flavor, was dry and tasted like bad leftovers. I’m from Tennessee and we take our BBQSERIOUSLY. This is NOT good BBQ… not even close. The fries were OK but tasted of old oil, not very fresh. The cobbler? It was worse than disgusting. The top tasted like bisquick with no taste, no flavor. The blueberries must have been straight out of a can. Had two bites and threw it out. About two hours after I finished and at home, I started feeling sick to my stomach and purged everything I ate. Truly NOT a good BBQ restaurant. Would never go back there. Y’all should come to Tennessee for really good home cooked BBQ… this place needs a new cook or the owner should try another business.

We hadn’t heard of wally’s but stopped there for an early dinner. We were pleasantly surprised. Our food was great! We can personally recommend the baby back ribs, pulled pork and brisket. There’s a long list of sides. We really liked the fried okra, green beans and baked beans. It’s a great barbecue addition to the area!

Wally’s delivered just what we were looking for — fall off the bone ribs with a crunchy crust, very meaty. We ordered baby back ribs too, but had to take them home. Their fries are delicious, the sweet Cole slaw very good, and the Mac ‘n cheese also very good. Service was excellent — the servers were warm and seemed happy to serve us! We did think they are pretty pricey although meals with less meat were more reasonable. we will definitely go back for ribs again.

Meet some friends for dinner in Port Charlotte and we wanted to go somewhere that wasn’t a chain and decided to stop at Wally’s. We put our name in at 7:05 and didn’t get seated until 8:00 — a very long wait. The smells of Great BBQ kept us waiting in line. Once we were seated we decided to start with an order of fries pickles– so good! For dinner we all decided to get different sides and try a little bit of everything and I’m so glad we did! Everything was great from the Mac and cheese to the hush puppies, to the corn nuggets, twice baked potato and onion petals. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the baked beans, not for me. As for the meat? Everything was fall of the bone and pulled to perfection! And the collection of BBQ sauces were great! The only reason this establishment didn’t get 4 stars was for the unbearably long wait(most of it outside in the cold) and the slow Service. We found out a server walked out mid-service so they were a little backed up, that’s okay. If I go back I’ll be sure to change my rating if the service is better.

Was going through town for work and couldn’t find anything decent to eat(fast food only ugh) but stumbled upon this place. Was not disappointed!!! Awesome pulled pork sandwich and the spicy coleslaw was really good. A must try for Port Charlotte.

Decided we wanted some bbq and looked on Unilocal.Found this place and it was great. Huge portions of meat and great sides you won’t leave hungry and for many will probably be asking for a to go box to carry the left overs.

I had the half slab of the St. Louis ribs. Was very good. I’ve made this one of the go to places to eat each time I’m in the Port Charlotte area from now on. I’m a big fan of Famous Dave’s and this is very close. Great food… Thank you.

God I love Wallys. The ribs for two is amazing. The ribs are always super tender and juicy. They have 6 sauces to choose from, and it’s as if they know you order because they come out so fast. Corn nuggets are crunchy fried amazing. Service always friendly and staff attentive. Love this place.

Ducked in to kill time and adhere to my paleo party no-carb diet plan. Good stuff. A tad overpriced but worth it if for no other reason than their spicy Cole Slaw made with horseradish and cayenne pepper. Excellent stuff. I enjoyed a BBQ Jubilee replete with Rib Tips, Barbecued Chicken, Green Beans with Bacon, and aforementioned and life-changing cole slaw! Can I get an AMEN? It was that good. The chicken was bland. The Rib Tips good, the beans and slaw amazeballs. All told it came to $ 20 bucks for lunch, including tip. Kinda high for Port Charlotte methinks, by about $ 5. Cabeza-in the kitchen trying to recreate the slaw!

Stopped in here for the first time and was not disappointed. Three of us all ordered different items from the menu and found them all to be delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the ribs and barbecue chicken and didn’t leave a drop on my plate. My wife had half a barbecue chicken and couldn’t finish it all. As far as barbecue and smoke house restaurants go, this is by far one of the best I’ve ever been to.

Best BBQ I’ve had in Florida. Just hands down awesome. Cheap beer too — $ 3.25 for the Sam Adams Seasonal draft. That’s one of the best prices we’ve run across around here. Every single thing was hot and delicious. A new favorite and one we will be recommending to family and friends.

The bar bque is great. My great friend took me there after raving about it. Went for lunch and had the pulled pork sandwich. Priced very good and food was awesome.
