We were going to the Steely Dan show at the Capitol Theatre around the corner. We had to stop in and see what was at 30 Broad Street because it has some musical history that’s related to the theater. Janis Joplin wrote her song«Mercedes Benz» while hanging out in a bar that was there back in the 70’s. I found a news story about it and it’s hysterical. Check it out

I always order anticucho here with the choklo and papa ala huancaina. For an Asian, I’ve eaten more Peruvian food than any other types of food lol. I just love how it tastes. Between Misti and Bambu I’d say mistis chaufa is better than Bambu. Bambu’s rotisserie chicken is way more juicer than Misti’s. I love their hot yellow green sauce here. Their bread is so freshly served. The only little thing I dislike are the servers. They seemed as if we’re disturbing their peace. So everytime I happen to go there there’s barely any people. I don’t know why. I just started goin there on afternoons and recently. It’s hard to order on phone when they couldn’t answer or understand simple order or English. I got hung up twice. Overall recommended rotisserie chicken for its juiciness and nice amount of serving. I’ve also tried the beef noodle soup but too much double starch haha. Okay I’m done.

I’m a sucker for pollo saltado. French fries and rice seem like a carb overkill but mixed with the onions and peppers, it’s delicious. The meal started with crunchy bread and two somewhat spicy dipping sauces, one of which is kind of like the aji sauce you get for the chicken at other Peruvian restaurants. My girl’s parents are from Guatemala and this is their go to spot in an area with lots of other Peruvian spots. I love micheladas and theirs was quite good.

Loved this Peruvian Restaurant located across the street from the train station in Port Chester. The seafood was excellent — we started with cerviche — and, with the help of the friendly staff, picked 3 more dishes to get a sampling of the cuisine. Great fun — Spanish wines — and finished off with a Pisco Sour for desert. We’ll go back to try the Chinese/Japanese/Peruvian Fusion offerings — too many possibilities for one trip :)
