I love Carvel and have been going to this one for almost 30 years. It’s a no frills, old school ice cream shop. Small storefront — you walk in one door, straight line down to order and out a door on the other end of the shop. No seats available, but benches outside. Ambiance is poor(in a parking lot with a convenience store by a major intersection), but the ice cream is delicious. They have soft serve, traditional hard ice cream, lots of milkshakes or Carvelanches, sundaes, etc and ready made cakes, flying saucers etc. The staff has been there forever and while not warm and fuzzy, they do a good job. I’ve had many birthday and special occasion ice cream cakes from here and have never been disappointed. Wednesday night is buy-one get-one-free sundaes.

I LOVE Carvel, and grew up on it. There is no better soft-serve anywhere, really. Most of the workers have been at this location for as long as I’ve been coming. The only complain I have whatsoever is how expensive it has become over the years. It’s actually cost-prohibitive to eat ice cream at Carvel, and for no real reason. It’s a shame, really. As much as I hate to say this, it’s true: I’ve been buying ice cream at this place for 40 years. Everyone here knows me, from the owner, to his son, to the manager, and not once in FOURDECADES have I been offered free ice cream. Seems kind of messed up to me…

I’ve been to this Carvel location many times. There’s always an issue with service, they’re always so rude. My kids were excited to get their free ice cream cone from here today. But the owner says oh you’re too late, the promotion ended 5 minutes ago. I don’t think it’s a kid friendly place.

I never thought I would Unilocal about Carvel. It’s just a nice cream shop that I’ve been going to for ages. But now that I’m older and want a nice experience I just had to Unilocal! I had an 80 cent coupon for a Nutella Jr. cone. Exited to try it the guy says $ 3 please and rings it up. I said«oh I have a coupon.» He huffed and said«ugh I wish you would’ve told me.» I said«sorry» — I had to apologize. Then continues to roll his eyes because he had to void it out. I stayed quiet and glad I only spent 80 cents because it did not taste like Nutella and his service sucked! Customer service is key. You have to be on point in any retail environment. So moral of my story — I will never come back to this location and I’ll let my friends know about this too!
