Place is my new favorite wing and Jameson spot. Thursday night is ten cent wings and even if they weren’t ten cents they’re awesome. They’re not soggy and overly dressed with sauce. The bartenders are awesome and friendly. Even when the bar is crowded when I want a drink it’s in my hand. It’s an Irish pub that feels like an Irish pub. The crowd is low key and the music is usually 90s rock, the best rock. It’s open late so when I get out of work I know where to get some grub.

Cesspool of Port Chester. Expect to see everyone from high school. VIPs are those who barley made it out of 11th grade. Also there’s a coterie of old townies. Strange.

Awesome Irish bar with a relaxed atmosphere. The bartenders are friendly and the food is excellent. You can actually order wings and pizza late at night here. Everyone does and it tastes great!

If this is your hang out spot… I’m truly sorry. Not about this review, but for you. C’mon, you know you can do better! The food isn’t all that. The bathrooms are nasty. If you are a newcomer you are considered fresh meat by the drunk horny patrons. It gets unbearably crowded and hot. Around 2am you get the arrival of the Connecticuit crowd that shows up once the venues in CT are closing. I used to get constantly dragged here all the time because somebody I used to know [insert Gotye joke here] was one of their regulars. I finally put my foot down and said ok if you guys are going there, I’d rather go home. Aside from that a number of new venues opened up in Port Chester that are way better. Like millions of times better! No really! The only good thing about this place is they have drinks, which is pretty much expected by any bar and you will definitely need many of them to endure your stay. The drinks are also reasonably priced. There you go, one star for that… and that’s all you get.

Davy’s USED to be a five star. It is now a two. This is not based on food this is based on service and the change in management. Still have the same cooks in the back so pizza, wings, everything still tasty. HOWEVER, after years of being regulars our friends and I can no longer tolerate this place. It used to be run by Vinny and a bunch of Irish guys who ran the bar extremely efficient and well. Type of place where you walked in and they greeted you by name and new what you were drinking. You got service immediately and never even had to ask for another drink. It was there as soon as you finished your last drink. Ordered food? Utensils, condiments, everything laid out for you when your order was placed. Not sure who’s running it now but the bartenders awful. 40 year old who never seemed to get pass the frat boy stage in life. We had to shout across the bar at the bartender to get another drink cause he was too busy talking to his pals or hitting on women. Every single time we needed a drink it was a chore and a wait. My husband has ordered the same beer every single time we go and this bartender didn’t even know they stocked it. Our food took way too long to come out and when it finally did it sat at the bar till we brought it to the bar tenders attention that our food has been sitting there for 5 minutes(again, busy chatting it up with pals and hitting on women) This used to be a great place to get good eats and good drinks, with every third round free like a TRUE Irish Pub. That left with the Irish too I guess. Our total came out to$ 96 for 4 of us and we weren’t drinking or ordering anything crazy. We have NEVER paid that much on 10 cent wing night at Davy’s EVER. To top it all off this brain dead bar tender gave us one tab even though our friends had clearly been there 20 minutes before us If you’ve never been and you don’t know the old place you may have a decent experience but knowing what this place used to be and what it has become, I can no longer tolerate this establishment.

Another one of those places you walk in to and you get more than you’d expect. i go here just for the burger and extra crispy fries. Big square bar with plenty of seats. I hear it gets crazy at night so I’ll continue to go for my late lunches.

this place is SODIVEY but holds a warm place in my heart. last night, our tab had about 10 — 11 drinks, mostly mixed drinks with jameson and tanqueray, a magners, and a few captain lawrence pints… $ 40?! $ 40??? nuff said.

Ugh, my favoriteee all time after work hang out! Open late, so either coming from work to get food isn’t an issue, they’re always serving up some food all night. Cheap drinks, especially if you’re friends with the bartenders then they’ll hook you up, just make sure you give them some good tipping you drunk folks! I always hook up Vince because he is the man and always treats me and my friends with great respect, love the guy! Two bathroom stalls for girls, usually never get crowded! Wednesday’s karaōke. Thursdays 10 cent chicken wing night! Seriously 30 wings for three bucks? They’re pretty good too and better when you’re drunk. The pizza isn’t that bad, all my friends go crazy for it, but I do like their deep dish style and crusty cheesy crust! Get the fried ravioli, and the fried vegetable platter, you can’t go wrong unless the burn it which they never do, it’s fried food! And their burgers are reallllly good, you can tell it’s not one of those frozen skinny flimsy«you call that a burger» burger. It’s juicy, flavorful, and there’s a lot of cheese toppings, I prefer the gorgonzola and the bacon on it :) Parking, be careful, because you can only park on the street till 1 am, and I know cops are out there at 12:59 waiting for it to turn 1 to give u a ticket! It happened to all my friends before! Parking lot super small only like 15 cars or so.

This place could probably survive if they opened at midnight and closed at their normal time. Come to think of it, I wouldn’t even know if they were open before midnight. I don’t think that I’ve ever passed through the doors any earlier than 1am. It typically gets packed once the CT bars close at 2. Davy’s is like a car accident, no matter how much you want to look away, you can’t. The only reason that I don’t like coming to Davy’s is because I know that I won’t be able to function as a responsible human being the following day. Despite how busy this place can get, the bartenders are always cordial and patient with their drunk clientele. The jukebox has a fairly wide selection of music to suit just about everyones’ needs. I laugh every time I hear someone talk about Davy’s pizza. It is tasty, but I think that the only reason why people crave it is the same reason that Taco Bell has a 10 car deep line at 2am… BECAUSEYOU’REHAMMERED! Two words of warning. 1– While I don’t condone operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, if you choose to do so, do so with extreme caution. Port Chester PD, Greenwich PD, Connecticut State Police, etc are ruthless and *will* lock you up. 2– Parking is a real bitch. This dive holds a very special place in my heart(and liver).

Hi All, Decent Irish dive bar. No pool table. Dart board and jukebox available. Food is average, but the personal sized pizza is excellent. Limited parking in lot, but street parking is usually available. Good option for late nights after the CT bars close. Just be careful driving! MSZ

Oh Davy’s… my default when nothing else is going on. The answer to «where are we going?» and of course the never fail place for food at 3am… pizza and bbq burger mmmm! what can you say about this place… it’s the local«where everybody knows your name»… karaōke on wednesdays are great and the weekends are jam packed! tons of fun tho! never eaten at the actual restaurant part but apparently i hear the wings are pretty darn good.

Let it be known that I’m admittedly NOT qualified to write the first review on Davy Byrnes. This Irish dive is legendary. Case in point: Morgan M., my best buddy from college, only ever reminisced about two places from his formative days in Greenwich, CT. One was Garden Catering, home of the high-school-special and the best little deli in town. The other was Davy Byrnes, right across the state line in Port Chester, NY. Davy Byrnes is the de facto late-night hangout for countless southwest Connecticut kids who get shut out of their hometown bars before two a.m. As far as I know, Byrnes stays open past three every night and til four on weekends. They serve respectable bar food including pizza and wings. They have two dart boards, a dope juke-box, and a pool table. The bartenders are friendly as fuck and sling Carbombs and Redbull vodkas with equal aplomb. Last time I was at Davy’s «Country Road» came on in surround sound and the entire bar, more than 50 people, sang along in drunken revelry. This is the bar for reuniting with old buddies and making new ones, and if you’re nice the bartenders are likely to give you a third round buy-back. PS — parking has gotten sketchy as hell as of late. we got our car booted for parking in a gas station that’s been fair game for years. watch out
