There have been 2 times in the last year I have needed computer assistance for my own personal computers that I had built myself. Unfortunately these guys seem to be the only local computer shop that I am aware of. Never again will I step foot into this place, below are an account of my 2 experiences with them. The first was back in August of 2014, had some really nasty malware /virus on my system that I could not get rid of to save my life. Didn’t think much of it at the time but the information they gave me to fix it was really poor. Ended up going to Geek Squad at Best Buy in Sandusky, Ohio to get my machine fixed. Fast Forward 11 months to July 2015. Just this past week I again found myself in need of assistance. Took my new machine that I am building into these guys because I was having some trouble getting some thermal sensors hooked up and the cords into the case in a somewhat orderly manor. Just received a call back from these guys yesterday. To my complete disbelief at what I was told on the phone, these guys basically told me that because the parts in this machine were so expensive they weren’t going to work on it without me coming in to sign some waiver that said if after the work was done and something didn’t work they wouldn’t or couldn’t be held responsible. When I brought up that this is something that should have been told to me when I dropped it off the week prior to this call the only thing I heard was excuses. Picked up my computer and luckily was not charged for anything(which at that point would not have paid because they did nothing). So now I am again turning to the Geek Squad at Best Buy in Sandusky, Ohio to get my machine right. Long story short here these guys here at Computer Resources more than likely do not know what they are truly doing and are pretty poor techs at that. From there horrible hours 9am to 5pm only Monday through Friday. Then looking at their store front should have been enough to make most people tuck tail and run screaming. Barely anything on the shelves and most of what is… its pretty old stuff. Save yourself the trouble and just go elsewhere to get your computer fixed you will be better off in the long run.
