This place is awesome. It is one of those special finds that you consider yourself lucky to know about it. A huge variety of candy, including homemade varieties. It absolutely can’t be beat.

Quaint little candy shop in Port Clinton, PA. Good variety and reasonably priced. I got a ¼ pound of orange slices and a handful of juju’s for $ 1.08! I have purchased chocolate there before as well. Check it out when you pass through the town! Takes you back to simpler times. Very nostalgic and I love that!

Okay, another must-stop when in eastern Pa. The nuts are wonderful, offered in different degrees of roast. Every kind of candy imaginable, from lovely regional chocolates like the figaro and beautifully dipped and coated chocolate pretzels, to regional candies like the Club sandwich, and even all the weird stuff we ate as kids(I’m looking at you, chick-o-stix). I’d give it 5 stars, except they denied my child their bathroom — their right, but its a kid and they’re very far out of the way. Also, parking is precarious if you try to do it on 61.

Wow! So many goodies. Fresh candy and nuts. Everything u can think of. All of the old school candies. Friendly service. Caramel corn will knock ur socks off. So will the fudge and potato candy. There’s just something to be said about mom and pop shops. Not many left and this is one. No questions best around

Best old school candy store around! And after a day of hiking at hawk mountain, stop in for a mesmerizing scent of roasting peanuts, and old school candy!

The store itself was fine and the candy wonderful. It was the service that left me feeling annoyed. My 11 year old, tired from traveling from the coal regions asked to use the bathroom and the staff told her No! They said the manager, who of course was no where to be found, didn’t allow customers to use the bathroom because someone had clogged the toilet once. My daughter was completely miserable and so was I. Sure they called her«honey» but that is little consolation. There are other candy stores. I’m never going back!

Where else can you get chocolate covered bacon and chocolate covered potato chips? And every other bit of sugary goodness one can imagine? The Port Clinton Peanut Shop! Don’t be fooled by the name, its mostly sweets but they do offer peanuts roasted to your liking. Be wary of the parking– speeding tractor trailers and cars are just inches from your door.

I’m so surprised that no one has bothered to mention the PEANUTS that are sold at the PEANUT Shop. My mother is so in love with their«brownie» peanuts(slightly over-roasted) and I am a fan their standard roasted peanuts. There’s something about freshly roasted peanuts, and cracking the shell open on the porch during a summer night that is just soothing. I don’t live in Berks anymore, but when I come home to visit, we always make sure to stop by. Don’t get me wrong, their candy is awesome, but you can’t go to the peanut shop and not try the peanuts.

One of my standard Christmas Eve stops — peanuts, caramel corn, fudge, candy, whatever. The old ladies that work here appear to have been there as long as the place has been open(5000 years?), and they’ll always call you«honey» as they ring you up. To get here from the south, you have to go into downtown port clinton and turn around to approach from the north. Parking is treacherous. Fold your mirrors in!

This is a tiny store in Port Clinton, several miles north of Cabela’s on Rt. 61. It appears to be an old mercantile store from the 1800s and has candy, nuts, and chocolates in glass cases. My wife likes their peanut turtles – very generous with the peanuts and drizzled with chocolate. Very yummy! Prices seem about average. Being tiny, the store can be hard to navigate through if there are more than 4 customers present, but still well worth it to stop by! Parking is curbside, right on Rt. 61.
