Best lobster roll we had this trip! Lobster meat was perfectly cooked, tender, sweet and obviously very fresh. Hamburger bun style roll with sesame seeds — perfectly grilled with salted butter. Really good! Doug’s is going to be very difficult to beat! I’m spoiled now.

Perfect shore dinners — really can’t do better than Doug’s if you’re looking for a casual spot to enjoy lobster, chowder, etc. We’ve eaten there — and also grabbed food to go. Always delicious.

Small little place off of Rte 131 in Port Clyde. Pretty big menu for such a small place. No dining inside; either take out, in your car or a table outside We have eaten here several times while staying in the Port Clyde area. Every time it was very good; way above average. From lobster rolls, to chowder’s to fish taco’s — it was all good well worth a stop.

Doug’s is a hidden gem on Route 131 just outside of Port Clyde. A small unassuming shack, these folks deliver the goods. Haddock chowder that couldn’t be fresher. Their version of fish tacos… two soft tacos with haddock fillets and cole slaw… unadorned and delicious. Lobster rolls, crab rolls etc. etc. This season they offer lobster grill cheese sandwiches, something I have not encountered before, and mini blueberry pies for desert. Dining is outside under a tent-like structure at picnic tables. No liquor, not much in the way of customer service, reasonably priced. They are closed Sundays, and I say good for them. So, support your local businesses while they last. Linda Bean hasn’t bought them out yet.
