Was headed north on I 95 and saw the road sign for Jumbo Jimmys Crabshack It is just a minute or two off 95, I was skeptical at first, the service wAs a little slow but I did have like 12 bikers walk in before me . The jumbo crab cake sAndwitch minus the bread(suggested by the waitress) was pretty freakin awesome ! It was all meat no beading or meaningless fillers. Cole slaw was very good also . I forgot to get a pic I ate it all so fast It was a Sunday so their was 3 older guys playin bluegrass music I think, it just added to the atmosphere it was pretty cool . So if you here banjo music playin don’t get nervous lol I will stop here again next time I’m in the area

Found this place while we were traveling and while the setting was a little off the wall(tiki/biker bar), the service was great and the food even better. If you’re snooty, you won’t care for the place; but if you just like good food, and plenty of it – you’ll love it here.

We’ve been here twice. The burgers are great. On Sunday evenings they have Blue Grass live music which we saw on our first visit and they were really good. Some say it’s a dive but to me it has atmosphere — Tiki Bar out back for warm weather days, a good selection of beer, pool tables if you’re so inclined, and a dining area that is just fine. I found the service quick on both visits and the food piping hot like it should be everywhere. If you see the bikers they are part of the atmosphere and just as kind as anyone else.

Staying at Ripken baseball and we found this place. A standard dive bar/crab house. We really liked it. The crab soup was amazing. We had the seafood combo. It’s served in a large Miller Lite bucket that was steaming hot. Excellent seafood. Crabs, muscles, shrimps, lobster etc. Menu also had tons of non seafood items too. No plates! Waitress put a large brown paper towel, down and we went to work on the seafood with nut crackers, knives and mallets. Awesome! Beer was ice cold. I had a Miller Lite on tap. If your in the mood for a local joint that’s not fancy. Us gets the job done try this place. Only negative had nothing to do with the restaurant. We used GPS from Ripken to crab house and it took on on I95. I was forced to pay a $ 6 toll. Use back roads and save the $ 6. Enjoy!

Great local dive bar restaurant! Portions are huge, prices great and a fun place to hang out on the weekends. Haven’t eaten anything here I wouldn’t order again. Pit beef and ham sammiches are big enough to share!

Worst restaurant for food quality, outrageous prices, etc. Don’t bother. Stopped for what was a quick non-fast food restaurant on a long drive. Food took forever to get even though it wasn’t crowded. Prices were really ridiculous for what they give you. Soft shell crab sandwich was one tiny crab with 2 slices of white bread and a piece of lettuce and tomato. Fries weren’t very hot and had no salt. Overpriced. Friend got crab cake sandwich which looked like a giant meatball. She said it wasn’t very good either. Glad to say I haven’t really ever had such a bad restaurant experience. Hope that was my last.

I got the crab soup. It was like eating drywall that was put in a blender with a little water. I also got the tossed salad which was Fresh but only had iceberg lettuce which is not my favorite. All in all is probably won’t stop by again. Maybe this place might be fine for a crab sandwich but I didn’t get that

I can’t accurately put into words what this place is like. It’s a dive. A grimy bar, restaurant, tiki bar where the bartenders take your order, sit down at the bar, have a smoke, eat their ribs, and go back to work. Hygiene is clearly not a priority. Also there is a shower stall in the ladies room. Huh? We ordered the pit ham and pit beef and it was really freaking good. The coleslaw was a little sweet for my liking. Prices are very reasonable. The bartender were very friendly and you can’t people the people watching. Would I go back? Yep. While very divey and not clean I would love to see what this place is like on a Saturday night.

Food is usally good. Stopped in for a dinner and saw that our order and others were not being filled. We were told it was due to a influx of people. There were not many crowds in the tiki bar and couldn’t understand the issue. We waited over 50min for our order-I think there was some issue with the kitchen help. This is not like the usual service. We enjoy coming here and the food is good. Bartenders are friendly/

I really can’t understand the bad reviews for this place. Maybe those people aren’t used to real seafood joints. The small, home town type places are the best! You walk through the bar area to the restaurant part. No big deal. Seat yourself. Our waiteess, Doreen, was prompt, attentive and not over bearing. I ordered the fried oyster platter. Eight HUGE oysters. They were amazing and did I mention that they were HUGE?!? Came with homemade coleslaw and fries. Both were delicious. The Hubby ordered the steampot. SOMUCHFOOD!!! Two corn on the cob, a baked potato, crawfish, mussels, clams, lobster, crab legs and, our favorite and the reason to visit Maryland, MD blue crab. The prices were so great for fresh seafood… and such large portions at that! They had an awesome bluegrass band playing too. A great atmosphere. If you’re driving through and don’t want to spend a fortune on the overpriced fast food on the highway definitely stop here! You won’t be sorry if you know what real fresh seafood should be.

Came here for Valentines Day dinner because our go-to date night spot had a kitchen fire incident and isn’t open. arrived at 5 pm hoping to avoid the V-day dinner rush. When we left at about 6:30, there were actually less diners than when we first got there :) We started off with a crab dip… it was tasty and overloaded with cheese! Very good though. The hubs ordered chicken wings as his main and I got the stuffed prime rib special. The wings were good, but arrived unsauced which we found strange. My prime rib could have fed 4 people — and for $ 30 I wouldn’t expect anything less! It was about 2 inches thick, smoked to perfect and topped with a nice portion of crab imperial and hollandaise sauce. Very very delicious. The snap peas and mashed potato side were fine and the salad was ordinary but good. Overall — The food was good. The service was good. It was all very expensive. Everything on the menu was jaw-droppingly expensive. The prices are nearly unacceptable for a redneck hole in the wall in Nowhere, MD … the fact that we could then go shoot billiards on the other side of the place was a nice bonus. It was just a strange venue — very Ceciltucky, but with downtown prices. We’ll return… someday.

Saw the sign for this place on the blue interstate sign coming down I-95 driving from NYC to NC. Pulled off thinking, great, a real crab shack on crab country. What I found was a biker bar that is probably fun if you are a biker going to a a bar but the food was on par with a poorly executed fried seafood fish camp back home. I got the soft shelled crab which was adequate along with some unremarkable French fries.

We stopped at Jumbo Jimmy’s on the way down to the DC area. It’s a local crab joint attached to a bar. The menu is mostly burgers, sandwiches and cheesesteaks but they specialize in crab cakes. Since this is Maryland, the crab meat is fresh and jumbo. We had broiled crab cakes on saltines with French fries and close slaw on the side. The crab cakes were great. They were flavorful and had no fillers, just pure crab meat. I would stop by here on the way down to DC next time. Service was quick and friendly.

Came to Jumbo Jimmy’s w some friends. Had driven by a bajillion times and, truth, it never looked like much. But the friends said the food was good and thats reason to go. Right? Right! Killer food. Most everyone had strip steaks and each one was perfection. I had this French cut pork chop that was amazing. Covered with mushrooms and two different sauces. I didn’t want it to end! And it didn’t because I had to bring a good bit home. Like a lot of Unilocal reviews, i can never figure out where these people ate. Not here. Dude, you have it confused w the freezer burned Marie Callender dinner you found in the back of the freezer. Bottom line. Friendly. Local. Delishus. And on Sunday afternoon they have a bluegrass jam that ends w a band. Oh and there is a zero tolerance policy for profanity. Win! Check this place out.

On the road again… just can’t wait to be on the road again! Hey, that ladies custom made Harley has a devils tail coming off the back and skulls on the body… that’s interesting! Oh well, hey, is anyone else getting a little hungry? We are kinda in the middle of no where, where do we eat around here? There’s some place called Jumbo Jimmy’s on the map… let’s hit that up! Ya, that’s a great idea, just park along back next to that skull filled motor bike! Hey… wait a minute… the whole parking lot is filled with bikes and pick-ups…this place must be good! Pit beef, pit ham, pit crabs… everything from your plate, to your chair is plastic, and this is probably to protect the patrons for when the bar brawl breaks out. There is even a bucket of $ 1.50 beers on ice next to the bar that you can dig through to see if there’s anything you’d like. WHAT’S NOTTOLOVEABOUTTHISPLACE!!! I mean for the love of all things unholy, this place should be the set of the next«Road House» movie! A live band was getting ready to set-up, and at 1pm on a Steamy Saturday afternoon, the 7 people at the bar were already 3 sheets! But I digress. I stroll into this place with 4 of my preppiest friends looking for some meat on a bun, and they delivered. Spicy bloody Marry’s, more Merrie then bloody added the extra teeth-kick to the chopped brisket with horse-radish on a brioche bun! Out, of, the, park! Maybe it’s the rural location between no where and bumble F@#k? Maybe it’s the skull lady-bike and Duck Dynasty patrons? Maybe it’s me; but this place is a gem. Come as you please, eat anything and everything that has been slow-cooked or steamed, and dig through that bucket of cheap beer to wash it all down, because this open air, down home, no frills place doesn’t hold back, and neither should you.

Food was a lot more expensive than I expected it to be, basing my decision on the rather unassuming outside of the building. It was good, though. My husband and I were passing through the area and wanted«real» food, not fast food. We shared a bowl of cream of crab soup and a crab cake platter with french fries and asparagus. The crab was good(both the soup and crab cakes) and the asparagus was done nicely; not overcooked at all. The french fries were not remarkable, but they did their job. The side salad was similarly unremarkable but the star of the place is the seafood — and that was good. Service was friendly and they never left us waiting for drink refills.
