Stopped in this morning for free wiper blade installation on the spare car. He had what I needed and got me in and out very quickly. Highly recommended. Great selection and great service. Very knowledgeable also about wiper blade arm springs. Happy customer. Thanks.

This is not only the best place for auto parts near Channel Islands harbor and the base, it’s the only place too. I have been buying all my boat and car parts from Bruce for almost 20 years now. You may have a hard time finding the mythical honest mechanic but Bruce is even better. Not only is he honest and trustworthy, he’s funny too. Very funny. Here’s your chance to avoid the big corporate auto part giants. Buy local… way local, at family run Base Auto.

Place is dim and a little dusty but the guy running it and his wife are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met… had to change my battery on a hot Thursday afternoon after a long 5 to 1 shift at work, leaking hood struts on my Acura meant that battery got changed with the hood of my car resting on my head… the proprietor was nice enough to let me use his tools and his wife gave me a nice juicy orange when i was finished. Try getting that anywhere else in the 805.
I should note that if you are an old guy, he carries the full line of Old Guys Rule! apparel and knickknacks… if you have a performance or race car, he carries the full line of Redline fluids and lubricants for your machine.
