Groupon. Sigh. I know this is a Chicago based business but I have only used their services in the greater Ann Arbor/Detroit area myself. This review therefore is only for local related Grouponing. My experience with Groupon customer service went from bad to worse very quickly. My first issue was handled swiftly, politely and in a no fuss no muss type manner. After that apparently you get nada of that. My second issue with Groupon was painful. As in wretchedly bad. My third was so horrid I will never use Groupon again. I will cut to the chase. On my last complaint, I was told the equivilant of too bad, so sad. Utterly dismissed. Told to gift my Groupon to someone else, ummmm ok. I was told about four different stories by a phone rep, in one minute my money was refunded only to be told the next minute, uh nope. Sorry. What the hell? Out of four reps I talked to only two were pleasant and one of those was massively incompetent so the niceness was no help whatsoever(yes she of the four tales of my fate). Utter fail. I don’t think they do a bit of research on the places they advertise with witty come ons, full of sly sass and overly sunny descriptions. They certainly will give you a bit of a shine on as to the reality of what you are purchasing. Unless you know the place beforehand I would not believe a word of what they are selling. It has felt like bait and switch in more than one case. So just be aware, they will send you places you would not have paid for had you known and if you have a problem more than once you will discover the real service that Groupon gives, that their promise of satisfaction has a few asterisks to it. Done.
